I love you Chloe, but I had to chuckle at having “mature skin” at age 31. Only because I’m currently 47, have been making RUclips videos for nearly 6 years, and whenever I’ve put up a video for “mature skin” I’m told that I don’t qualify to do videos on the subject because I’m too young! There really should be a new term for those of us in our 30’s and 40’s. “Early Mature Skin” maybe? 🤷♀️

When I was a makeup artist in my 20’s and 30’s and I worked on “mature skin”clients, I always knew how to make them look their best and could offer tips, but I couldn’t really relate(and commiserate!) until the BIG changes started happening to me around age 45. I call my 30’s my hottest years! 🥰
I hear ya Risa! I also have to differ with Chloe recommendation for satin eyeshadows. Firstly it’s pretty boring, and second I think a matte shade on the upper lid can make it receding where eyes are hooded and a shimmer or even glitter on the mobile lid can bring excitement back into the look. Charlotte tilbury does such shades really well,

I'm 60 and love cool toned shadows. Absolutely nothing wrong with them or adding a touch of shine to the inner corner of the eye. I would also suggest an eyebrow gel that has fibres in it - once it is dry, fill in with a pen or pencil - lastly, gently fluff the brows with a spoolie. Jib done! Using a peach coloured corrector is an absolute must to toning down the dark undereye circles (doing this means you'll use less concealer 😊).

I adore you, Chloe, but don’t know where you are getting your information, Chloe-my mom is 77 and has tons of hair. Her eyebrows got bushier. She needed to get brow gel to keep them in place. She said the hairs aren’t as fine. The main thing for me-is that I can’t do anything super dramatic with eyes, unless it’s a Smokey eye with reds, greens, or purples. If I do create a look like that I have to use gel liner in my upper waterline only-and preferable in a pencil that is similar in color. I have all these Boxycharm that I have to give away due to sending me palettes with tons of glitters in them 🙄🤣

I'm gonna be 41 in 14 days and I am so not ready for natural mature makeup, even though I think it's lovely and very pretty on natural beautiful people, but for my older more grungey vibe I've been just doing the most, but I do very good skin care daily and I have skin cancer so I'm super overboard crazy about my skin, but when I have good skin days, I love doing a full cover full face of makeup, I must admit I love how pretty this kind of makeup is, and how pretty and youthful Miss Chloe looks, and @31 I couldn't find 1 flaw on her, she's just delish♡ I think I'ma challenge myself to do more enhanced natural-esc matured a lil bit makeup on myself and see what I think♡ anyways as always Miss Chloe u are such an amazing teacher and I love how u explain everything! I so relate to this! I wish I had started a good preventative skin care routine when I was 30...i started getting sun spots and wrinkles when I hit 35! I will be 42 next month and have a great skincare routine Now just wish I could wear less make up, but it’s hard to cover those darn spots up🤨😞 Chloe is gorgeous and I appreciate her giving these great tips they do really work in aging skin.

It's called the Traceless Soft Matte foundation, and u can get it online @ Sephora and there's a sale going on...I say invest in good face makeup products becuz they also have great skin care benefits in them also♡♡

Hello, I'm 45 and everyone thinks I'm 30, 35. I was never able to use expensive creams. What I did was follow the advice of my maternal grandmother who was as white as I am and always avoid the sun, I used sunscreen since I was a child and I always drank a lot of water and ate a lot of fruits and vegetables. I also always used vitamin E on the skin along with my cheap nivea cream all my life and always used oils on my face. Get the hint!
Thanks so much for sharing! It’s so refreshing to know that it depends on us for the most of it! Water, sunscreen and a healthy diet pretty much do it, so we don’t have to rob a bank for skincare.
Hi Chloe I have been reading some of the comments and they made me smile I am 60 this year and so a little older than your average follower (I also follow @Risadoesmakeup ) and I used to work in the make up industry so a lot has changed and improved since then. All of the tips you gave I use especially the lining of the outside of the lips I don’t use a white pencil I use a MAC concealer pencil and it makes a huge difference especially if I am using red lipstick. One of the most important tips I could give anyone your age and above though is sunscreen every day I use SPF 50 every day and I have always been careful with my face ever since Joan Collins did a skin care book when I was in my 20’s 😂 Everyone can learn something new what ever their age 😘
43 yrs old over here!!! 🙌🏻 barely started wearing makeup a few years ago., mainly consists of tinted moisturizer, liquid blush, eyeliner (maybe) and mascara. Thank you for the tips, will incorporate as I keep practicing make up ❤️

Oh my gosh, Chloe I have been watching you since your “my acne cure” video almost 10 years ago now! I think you have gotten more and more beautiful as the years have gone by ❤️ We are close in age and I appreciate these tips on makeup for us early 30’s girls. Omg Chloe the changes I saw on my skin after having à baby (6-8 months after) were crazy! I had my son when I was 32 and this year I will be 34. Every sign there is of aging (10 +) I have noticed. And I hear this is normal after being pregnant
Thank you for mentioning some of the changes to expect, as we age. Personally, I am 42 & I never really gave it much thought, until about 6 months or so ago, when I noticed that 1) my eyebrows are vanishing at an alarming rate (getting both thinner AND blonder) & 2) the vermillion border of my lips is losing definition- so if I wear too emollient of a lip product it gets smeary around the edges, very quickly unless I use a lip pencil or more of a stain. But some things about aging, I don't mind so much- for example, volume loss in my cheeks now gives me more of a sculpted, defined look through the cheekbones... & the hair loss/lightening isn't limited to my brows- I now also barely have any leg hair to shave. So I guess a little perspective is helpful, in dealing with these changes! 😄
31 year old here! With some wrinkles and heaps of darkness under the eyes- something I've been doing to adapt is using the NARS creamy concealer in pot form and applying it with my fingers/small dense eyeshadow brush or DRY beauty blender. I find if I use a cream concealer and then a dry blender, when I go to set with powder, It doesnt look so heavy because nothing is overly wet and less powder gets used but my concealer sets so beautifully under my eyes. Its life changing!
I mean was it new info to you that as skin matures and ages those things would happen? Were you under the impression that our skin stayed young, plump, and vibrant for our entire lives? She wasn't saying anything besides the truth. We (especially us women thanks to the way society has put ridiculous expectations on us) just have a weird relationship with aging and can't stand the thought of the inevitable happening.

To the people saying "you are not ageing!" - ummm what? We start ageing from the day we are born. For prevention of fine lines and wrinkles we should be looking after our skin no later than age 25 ... after age 25 the body starts slowing down. Of course she still looks absolutely gorgeous and youthful but to say a 30 year old isn't 'ageing' is crazy. I also turn 31 this year and have noticed differences in my skin and overall body. Love this. When I turned 31 I started to notice my skin changed so much. I used to be able to wear liquid eyeliner perfectly and now it just looks terrible on me and the sides of my eyes are so crepe! I now use kohl or sometimes eyeshadow with a thin brush. Works so much better and suits my eyes better now.

Chloe..31..is still very young. I think the 30s are a woman's peak time. I hate to see people focus on a number. I realize we need to take steps to maintain our physical self as in health, staying as fit , skincare, good sleep..but really, rather than the negative side of aging is looking at the wisdom, experience, relationships, and becoming comfortable in your own skin and in your deeper, more soul oriented self, are real positives. I have found that getting older has allowed for true relaxation and an ability to freely enjoy life. I'm 65 and yes, I miss my 30 year old self but what's the alternative? Makeup and skin care is important but stressing over each birthday can negate all the efforts. Thanks Chloe for this upload. You look lovely as always. Be well :)

So I watch this video yesterday and was like oh huh..., then when I did my make up today I thought I would try a few tips, Thank you! Most people Do “no make” up looks and they are 20 so it looks great on them but not me. These are practical amazing tips that work. Your tips of rubbing concealer in your fingers and where you put it, all of your tips were absolutely amazing and 35 so I’m not that old but I do feel like lately my make up looks a lot more cakey than it used to. I think it's important to mention ( since we are on this topic) that crease colour should be applied above the natural crease if we are talking about droopier lids. It opens up the eye more and it makes the droopy crease not look so droopy anymore.

Hi, you have a 50 year old here subbed to you, lol! I loved these tips, and even though I have very textured eyes I'm still going to use metallic shades on them because they're too pretty to not use! I have found that more pigmented eyeshadows regardless of mattes, etc mean less powder on the eyes, so the texture doesn't show as much. Also using shadow sticks and creams helps as well!
That's odd,cuz Most influencers I've always watched like Tati and old school and even newer people say if you buff some nice dark colors or just some shades underneath your eyes and blend it down a bit lower ,it covers most of the wrinkles under your eyes better and it does.it covers them up.✌🥰❤
Yea I've always heard that too but mature skin already tends to have a lot more darkness under the eyes so I don't think it does much besides make the undereye area look more dark and less lifted. Sure, it may cover the wrinkles but it makes the eyes overall look more droopy and dark when you have a lot of darkness under there.
It definitely can mask wrinkles, but it also can drag the eyes down and make them look droopy and tired. I think it just depends on individual eye shapes and problem areas. My mother is in her 60’s and she can totally rock under eye shadow, but she has beautiful almond shaped eyes, my mother in law is the exact opposite and really needs just bright and clean under eyes.

As a fellow YTer I understand that and also as a 50 year old I know things are definitely different than they were in my 20s, 30s and 40s! I appreciate this video and always enjoy learning...regardless of the teacher's age! I often implement many of these tips & tricks in my makeup routine but I did learn a few things and want to say 'thank you' for sharing. I think these tips are great for any age. Well done!

Hi Chloe I have been reading some of the comments and they made me smile I am 60 this year and so a little older than your average follower (I also follow @Risadoesmakeup ) and I used to work in the make up industry so a lot has changed and improved since then. All of the tips you gave I use especially the lining of the outside of the lips I don’t use a white pencil I use a MAC concealer pencil and it makes a huge difference especially if I am using red lipstick. One of the most important tips I could give anyone your age and above though is sunscreen every day I use SPF 50 every day and I have always been careful with my face ever since Joan Collins did a skin care book when I was in my 20’s 😂 Everyone can learn something new what ever their age 😘
You look sooo much fresher and younger since you get less filler/botox. Such a beauty acutally
43 yrs old over here!!! 🙌🏻 barely started wearing makeup a few years ago., mainly consists of tinted moisturizer, liquid blush, eyeliner (maybe) and mascara. Thank you for the tips, will incorporate as I keep practicing make up ❤️

I believe several of you are correct in using term mature skin...I’m 65 and I started using products in my 20’s and still do. I love watching your videos, helps me stay young with new makeup techniques, hacks, tips, colors and more. (Sunscreen is a must at every age.) 💕💃🏻

Oh my gosh, Chloe I have been watching you since your “my acne cure” video almost 10 years ago now! I think you have gotten more and more beautiful as the years have gone by ❤️ We are close in age and I appreciate these tips on makeup for us early 30’s girls. Social media makes me so afraid of getting new little wrinkles or any signs of aging in my face. I know you’re just pointing things out on your face for the sake of the video, but just know I watch and constantly think “wow she is gorgeous”. I always have and always will!

Omg Chloe the changes I saw on my skin after having à baby (6-8 months after) were crazy! I had my son when I was 32 and this year I will be 34. Every sign there is of aging (10 +) I have noticed. And I hear this is normal after being pregnant

Thank you for mentioning some of the changes to expect, as we age. Personally, I am 42 & I never really gave it much thought, until about 6 months or so ago, when I noticed that 1) my eyebrows are vanishing at an alarming rate (getting both thinner AND blonder) & 2) the vermillion border of my lips is losing definition- so if I wear too emollient of a lip product it gets smeary around the edges, very quickly unless I use a lip pencil or more of a stain. But some things about aging, I don't mind so much- for example, volume loss in my cheeks now gives me more of a sculpted, defined look through the cheekbones... & the hair loss/lightening isn't limited to my brows- I now also barely have any leg hair to shave. So I guess a little perspective is helpful, in dealing with these changes! 😄
31 year old here! With some wrinkles and heaps of darkness under the eyes- something I've been doing to adapt is using the NARS creamy concealer in pot form and applying it with my fingers/small dense eyeshadow brush or DRY beauty blender. I find if I use a cream concealer and then a dry blender, when I go to set with powder, It doesnt look so heavy because nothing is overly wet and less powder gets used but my concealer sets so beautifully under my eyes. Its life changing!

I mean was it new info to you that as skin matures and ages those things would happen? Were you under the impression that our skin stayed young, plump, and vibrant for our entire lives? She wasn't saying anything besides the truth. We (especially us women thanks to the way society has put ridiculous expectations on us) just have a weird relationship with aging and can't stand the thought of the inevitable happening.

I'm 69 and watching you! Never too old to learn new tricks and yes, I'll be careful not to "try too hard" and look like a fool! However, no matter how many years I've been roaming this Earth, I will always attempt to look my best without looking overdone! To the people saying "you are not ageing!" - ummm what?
We start ageing from the day we are born. For prevention of fine lines and wrinkles we should be looking after our skin no later than age 25 ... after age 25 the body starts slowing down.
Of course she still looks absolutely gorgeous and youthful but to say a 30 year old isn't 'ageing' is crazy. I also turn 31 this year and have noticed differences in my skin and overall body. Theres nothing wrong with it and completely normal!! Chloe you look absolutely stunning as always

Love this. When I turned 31 I started to notice my skin changed so much. I used to be able to wear liquid eyeliner perfectly and now it just looks terrible on me and the sides of my eyes are so crepe! I now use kohl or sometimes eyeshadow with a thin brush. Works so much better and suits my eyes better now.

Chloe..31..is still very young. I think the 30s are a woman's peak time. I hate to see people focus on a number. I realize we need to take steps to maintain our physical self as in health, staying as fit , skincare, good sleep..but really, rather than the negative side of aging is looking at the wisdom, experience, relationships, and becoming comfortable in your own skin and in your deeper, more soul oriented self, are real positives. I have found that getting older has allowed for true relaxation and an ability to freely enjoy life. I'm 65 and yes, I miss my 30 year old self but what's the alternative? Makeup and skin care is important but stressing over each birthday can negate all the efforts. Thanks Chloe for this upload. You look lovely as always. Be well :)

something that worked for me was exfoliate with PC bha😉 not everyday, but my wrinkles was smoothing away, so cool!

I find myself coming here on this channel every time because that makes me realise that it's not that I can't do makeup but there is no thing as makeup making your skin look like there is no makeup. No, it won't stop looking like makeup. It will make you look beautiful but it will be makeup and I always had a complex because of other beauty gurus here because they filter and all.

So I watch this video yesterday and was like oh huh..., then when I did my make up today I thought I would try a few tips, Thank you! Most people Do “no make” up looks and they are 20 so it looks great on them but not me. These are practical amazing tips that work. Your tips of rubbing concealer in your fingers and where you put it, all of your tips were absolutely amazing and 35 so I’m not that old but I do feel like lately my make up looks a lot more cakey than it used to. I think it's important to mention ( since we are on this topic) that crease colour should be applied above the natural crease if we are talking about droopier lids. It opens up the eye more and it makes the droopy crease not look so droopy anymore.

Hi, you have a 50 year old here subbed to you, lol! I loved these tips, and even though I have very textured eyes I'm still going to use metallic shades on them because they're too pretty to not use! I have found that more pigmented eyeshadows regardless of mattes, etc mean less powder on the eyes, so the texture doesn't show as much. Also using shadow sticks and creams helps as well!

That's odd,cuz Most influencers I've always watched like Tati and old school and even newer people say if you buff some nice dark colors or just some shades underneath your eyes and blend it down a bit lower ,it covers most of the wrinkles under your eyes better and it does.it covers them up.✌🥰❤
Yea I've always heard that too but mature skin already tends to have a lot more darkness under the eyes so I don't think it does much besides make the undereye area look more dark and less lifted. Sure, it may cover the wrinkles but it makes the eyes overall look more droopy and dark when you have a lot of darkness under there.

It definitely can mask wrinkles, but it also can drag the eyes down and make them look droopy and tired. I think it just depends on individual eye shapes and problem areas. My mother is in her 60’s and she can totally rock under eye shadow, but she has beautiful almond shaped eyes, my mother in law is the exact opposite and really needs just bright and clean under eyes.

This comment is late, @Chloe Morello, but I want to let you know I understand you're showing us more mature folks things that will help with makeup application and not trying to say that you yourself necessarily have mature skin. As a fellow YTer I understand that and also as a 50 year old I know things are definitely different than they were in my 20s, 30s and 40s! I appreciate this video and always enjoy learning...regardless of the teacher's age! I often implement many of these tips & tricks in my makeup routine but I did learn a few things and want to say 'thank you' for sharing. I think these tips are great for any age. Well done!
Hey, question for you. Do you use tretinoin (obviosuly not now, but when you were not pregnant)? I am 28 and have been using it for 2 years and I feel it works very well.
That was great I'm going to pay attention to those tips now. I especially like the lip one with the too faced lip injection and the white liner.
