UNLEASHING POTENTIAL - PSYCHOLOGY VIDEOS thank you, it really is an amazing culture. I was born in Mexico but raised in the US the more I learn the more I love it
Moments like these are what make me proud about such beautiful aspects of my culture. makes me sad how the rest of the world can’t enjoy the little things like this. Thank you for making this video, if this was anyone’s first time hearing about alebrijes I’d be glad it was through you guys :)
Los alebrijes de Oaxaca son de madera y su forma es muy realista ; los de Mexico City son mas creativos , son hechos de papel mache y por supuesto son los originales !😎
Big and well deserved kudos to the narrator who had a wonderful pronunciation over Alebrije. For an instant i thought it was going to be that lady mispronouncing everything that's not an english word saying ei-leigh-brie-jey but nope, it was wonderful =)
I really love this episode--topic and story are fascinating and the presentation was top notch and matched well with the subject! Def. my new favorite.
This video confused me. Were the alebrijes a preexisting Mexican idea, or did the artist's grandfather create the concept of the alebrijes, and their depiction? If his grandfather created the creatures, then how is this 'folk art'?
You know... If you're going to take make a video about certain things the other people take joy doing like alebrijis The least you could do is be more respectful Like... Stop calling it a monster Alebrijis are Spirit Guides that help Monsters are vicious, cruel and ugly that want to hurt or kill others Learn the Difference!😑
Meixco has the only culture I know that makes monsters and death look fun and colorful.
Instead of pessimistically focusing of the loss of someone during death, they optimistically focus on the transition to a new and better afterlife.
True that!

The just need to highlight that the best alebrijes are made in Oaxaca, it's a state 5 hours away from Mexico City, in the South of the country.
The alebrijes in Oaxaca are made of wood, whereas the original papier-mâché ones as well as the alebrijes monumentales are from Mexico City.
In Oaxaca they made "nagual animals" Alebrije is different

The true origins of Alebrijes are from Oaxaca, you can tell the difference, pure art work.
Wrong
Zapoteco creature is nagual not Alebrije
All these creatures need are people to make them into costumes, and dance with them. They could literally be what the lion dances are to China.
The cinematography and story line of the creators 👌🏻🙏🏻 thank you I love it!
You are so talented !!
Wow awesome video helped with my homework
Beautifil artwork! 😎

I'm sure there's some online but these are mainly found on the streets of Mexico, especially around Dia De Los Muertos
Wonderful! Does anyone know the cultural origin of the Alebrije?

I think grampa forgot to tell you about all the peyote he consumed before the visions began 😨
The narrator sounds like Steve Bloom, a bit more bright voice tone tho.
If he speaks Spanish
he did a mexican character on Shadows of the damned
They're dream creatures coming to alive
Actually i am not racist but this is really Good!
I will make my own creature!

How much money would a similar video to this cost?
Mrs hudson i know you watched this

I think he mentioned in spanish "modern folk art" . But i dont think they added it in the subtitles
Any art made by indigenous amateurs is a kind of folk art. The grandfather created and named the first alebrijes.
It also seems that they have an influence from nahuales that are an indigenous mith/legend
Alebrijes came from Oaxaca
