    I keep going over and over that Green Onions portion because, believe it or not, you are one of the very few people who actually play it correctly and get it to sound very close to the original recording. I've seen and heard countless musicians play that riff wrong - professionals included.

      @@jocosaway3676In some rare cases, a simple-sounding musical idea has a brilliance that is neither immediate nor obvious to everyone. "Interpreting" this idea differently has nothing to do with creativity, but with a lack of understanding and ability. Oftentimes, it's not even the notes but the way they're played like with the Smoke on the Water riff. Simplicity also leaves little room for alternatives to a particular style of playing, which means that only one way can be considered by far the best. This is exactly the case when Booker plays his Green Onions riff and only then does it sounds really outstanding. A lot of people don't think too much of Booker because he isn't a virtuoso player. However, if they took a closer look at what he does they will change their mind. The way he plays and arranges his organ parts is masterful and not at all obvious at first.

    Awesome, DM. Going to recommend that if ever you feel like triggering the software organ from the MIDI controller isn’t filling in for you, you should lay hands on an instrument from the Roland V-Combo line. Aside from being a convincing clone wheel organ with highly believable rotary simulator, it also includes a transistor organ section.
    What’s more, there are options for the 61-note range associated with the Hammond organ and the 73-note range associated with the Rhodes piano. One thing I miss about the latter is that it uses real waterfall keys.

Instead the developers only created a bunch of crappy sample instruments and called it Komplete.

    • @yvescolin6169
      @yvescolin6169 Год назад +1

      Maybe it's not only because the developpers are "lazy" but also because it's very difficult to have a good sounding modeled instrument? And the b3 is one of the easiest one to model (see the hoax3 board), accoustic instruments like the piano are much more complex

    • @unclemick-synths

      @@yvescolin6169 exactly - especially as the model has to create the sound we _expect_ to hear rather than a merely accurate emulation. • @HammondDirk

      @@yvescolin6169 Well, I don't agree with your idea that a B-3 is one of the easiest instruments to model... There is a lot of electromagnetic interference going on in those huge bundles of cables, let alone the way the 9 switches underneath each key make contact one after another. It's like the sympathic resonance of a piano's strings different on each key combination you have. I've never heard any clone wheel organ that completely convincingly sounds like the real thing (where by the way you can identify from the sound in which factory they were made)

    Do you know B4-II B3 vst Hammond organ
    ? Designed by Native Instrument, il was a very good vst! But I like to play on my ELKA X705 organ or Roland VR-09 V combo. Very good organ sound on both!
