  • I know this tutorial isn't great, but I want to get something out there since there is currently very little information to help people get started. I will make a Github guide and redo this video soon.
    Github guide: [pending]
    New video: [pending]
Unless the links above are live, then this video is the next best thing. I didn't cut out too much because I messed up on a couple of things, and I want you to see how I fixed them.
    You'll need:
A DigitalOcean Account (I demonstrated how to use their prebuilt Mastodon application for deployment; I chose it for its simplicity)
An AWS Account for S3 (I show you how to create one in the video; I chose it for its... simplicity?)
A MailGun Account (I chose this for its simplicity)
A Domain name (I just use Google Domains; use whatever floats your boat)
If you have any questions, leave a comment. I'll do what I can to help out.
Also, if you don't already have a Digital Ocean account, consider signing up with my referral link (please and thank you😊). You'll get $100 in credit (I think it comes over a few months or something).

I also use Vultr, so if you need a VPS there, consider using my affiliate code.
Vultr: www.vultr.com/... (Vultr does not have a prebuilt Mastodon app)
Also, once you have made your own Mastodon account, feel free to follow me.
