This fr brought a tear to my eye. I've always wanted to be involved with music and do something musical, but I always looked at it as something that wouldn't allow me to be successful in life. I love the idea of influencing people to do good and to have that whole sense of community where you look out into this crowd of thousands and thousands of people, and realizing that they're all like you. That they aren't there because they expect you to play something, but rather that they WANT you to play something. I play guitar, and I make cool little beats for myself for fun, but what I've really always wanted to do is rap. I sing along and just feel this energy, and I like start to harmonize with whoever is rapping, and the words just flow out, even if it's something I haven't heard in 10 years, I don't even have to try to remember the words, because I feel them. The emotion shapes itself into the words. BUT my whole point is, you inspire the fuck out of me. The things you talk about here and in your music resonate very deeply with me, and makes me want to sit down, cobble together a beat, and just say fuck being "successful" as defined by our society. I want to be successful in my own way, through art. You know, I guess you are kinda like a mirror, because I can see myself in you, or maybe it's more about seeing you in myself. Anyway, maybe you'll never see this, but I just wanna say that I have nothing but the deepest respect for you and what you do, Issa. Thank you.
