    Good Morning Russ. Yesterday I watched your video on my phone while I was getting my 2nd bone marrow transfusion, I rode my e-bike to my appointment it was 11°C (51.8°F). You know that person calling you a F-n C-wrd, obviously never watched any of your videos, coz you got a flat riding with traffic. About turning with hand gestures or turn signals, I realized last night riding with my son on our e-bikes, it doesn't matter if you have turn signals or not, drivers are not looking for bicycles/e-bikes. Always Be on the Look Out, if I didn't have a horn, my son would have gotten hit by a truck speeding & running a red light and almost hitting Mike, I was recording and put it on Facebook because I had my radio playing and couldn't post it on RUclips. I don't think manufacturers care if you keep them or not, they only care about you making a good review for each bikes. Thank you for another good video. 😎

    Being a cyclist and driver as well, when I am driving I always give cyclists the right of way cause it is a lot easier for me to stop and get going again than it is on a bike.

    Hi Russ. It was beautiful here today. 73 degrees and sunny. I got to ride 14 miles. I use the right arm to indicate a right turn. Seems to make more sense on a bicycle. I had a 2 way stop and the right of way but I saw a pickup truck barreling up to the stop. I was afraid he would not stop and maybe did not see me. So I stopped and let him go. Better safe than sorry. I did give him the stink eye when he went by. LOL.

    Good advise Russ, you really have to be aware of the actions of others while on the roads! I always ride on the country roads, with a reflective vest, headlights, tail lights on, front and rear flashing lights and my flashing Xnito helment but was still forced off of the road into the ditch by a driver that was in my lane, as she was looking down at her phone! Thanks for more great videos.

    If you get hit by an errand golf shot, causing you to lose control of the bike, fall and hurt yourself, can you sue? If so i will start riding near the Trump Doral golf place. The red car appeared to be a mid 60's Plymouth convertible. Those cars with vinyl roof thingies tended to get rusty underneath.

  • @Nemonurwingy

    You got it right on the hand signals, the old way is based on being in a car where they wouldn’t see your right arm. I do wonder how old that system is, it’s gotta be so long ago that cars didn’t have turn signals built in. I have never seen anybody hand signal a turn in a car. I do hand signal when riding, but I point with the applicable arm, which makes more sense. I’m a big believer in turn signaling, I wish police would go on a scorched earth campaign of “education” on the non-signalers. It makes people hesitate around at intersections not knowing what people are going to do, and of course causes lots of accidents and near misses with unsignaled lane changes.

      @@RussIsRightWow, that is worse than shoving it. That's scary. Only car fire I had was in a 68 mustang (my first car). Mom was teaching me to drive and asked if I smelled gas. I did not. We pulled up in the driveway and the engine went in flames. I learned from that to trust others sense of smell, and I never got to drive the mustang solo. An Aspen ended up my first true car.

    Hey Russ, my Juiced charger has a RED/Charging and a GREEN/Full indicator light. So when its done, it done. I can also verify that it is noticeably warm while RED/charging, and immediately cools when its GREEN, which I assume to mean it is no longer hitting battery with major amps. Perhaps there are some other chargers that are not automatically managed, or maybe I'm mistaken about mine. Also, have you ever thought about reviewing / trying a Juiced e-bike?

    • @RussIsRight
      @RussIsRight  Год назад

      Many of my chargers for the various companies do the same thing, but I don't trust it. I prefer to pull the plug immediately. Better safe than sorry. As for other brands, I only review bikes that are offered to me and I have never heard from Juiced.

    • @Nemonurwingy
      @Nemonurwingy Год назад +1

      Technically, what the green light means is it’s hit whatever threshold voltage they’ve designed the charger to stop providing full current so as not to not overcharge the pack. It’s not “done” per se. It’s good practice with lithium packs to leave them on for a while once the charger switches over to it’s trickle charge state (green). The reason that is, is because your battery pack contains dozens of individual battery cells wired up in parallel groups then series wired together to make the pack the desired voltage. The individual cells do not necessarily drain exactly evenly when you use the bike. When you leave it on green, that has a small current going into the pack that benefits individual cells which might have fallen slightly behind the others on voltage. If you don’t fully charge the battery regularly or take it off right when the light changes, those lower cells can get further and further behind the others over a bunch of charge cycles where they are below the safe minimum voltage for the cell, and they are effectively dead. Once that starts happening to enough cells in the pack, you’ll start getting bad performance, and worst case it starts getting dangerous because the threshold voltage where the charger turns green is actually overcharging the cells that are not dead and increases fire risk.

    • @RussIsRight
      @RussIsRight  Год назад +1

      @Nemonurwingy Rad Power Bikes at one time recommended deep charging for 12 hours every now and then for this reason. I wonder if they still recommend this given the battery fires being reported.

    • @Nemonurwingy
      @Nemonurwingy Год назад +1

      @@RussIsRight I’m not sure with Rad, but it’s good practice to leave it on green for an hour or two or more once you hit green (as long as you plan to ride it soon) because that trickle charge disproportionately benefits the cells that are slightly under voltage and in a well designed system poses very, very little risk. It’s a shame with the fire reporting that we don’t get specifics. Id be curious how many Rad (or other big, reputable manufacturers) bikes have ever caught on fire. I’d bet it’s a very low number. Most of the stuff I’ve seen where you can tell are hand built or modified stuff or very low quality no-name manufacturer stuff.

    • @RussIsRight
      @RussIsRight  Год назад +1

    I have a feeling you will be selling the Engwe X24 soon. You don’t seem to like the way it rides stock and you don’t seem to want to change how it rides. Why would you keep a bike you do not like how it rides when you have “to many bikes”.
    You might want to change the stem for a video and show the difference in how it rides before the change and after. Plus what is involved in changing the stem. That would be interesting.
    Thanks
