i think that as well tbh. i dont see why they change hals and evans characters cos it dont fit their playstyles. Hal is very aggressive but plays passive characters makes no sense

They read the meta comp early, but it's being used different to what they expected. They predicted this was going to be a Seer/Cat split, but I think they expected this to mean edge meta, using Seer/Cat to aggressively push fights, which is why they put Evan on Horizon and picked an edge POI like Wall. But turned out most teams use Seer/Cat with Valk for zone, get in early, lock down buildings. So TSM ends up not finding anything to kill in the early game, then have to force their way into zone by pushing a zone team, while being shot from 3 other zone teams, because Seer/Cat STALLS FIGHTS.

@Snip3Down I'd say the strong point for Loba Watson is to Loba Loot nades for end game or shields for when you just turbo rotate to get to end game and just go AFK the combo is way to dependent on getting a good spot but it's solid
It's funny how TSM created the seer-Catalyst meta and they were doing good, but after everyone was playing it they did bad, and now they hate that meta, and to be honest this meta is crazy, walls everywhere in the last rings sometimes it's unpredictable what is going to happen

If the meta is seer and catalyst why does knowbody play like gibby/Newcastle? When teams pop Cat ult just bubble so they can't laser you through her wall. I don't see teams really trying to counter the catalyst. Shit you could even gibby ult if the Cat push is outside.
I think last season Hal said that about Snip3 and Alb: that they're thinking too hard about fitting/finding meta instead of just playing with what Youre most comfortable with 😊 I hope they'll come back! Nothing better in pro apex than Hal freaking out 😅
I think Hal should go back to MnK for this meta and then play a less aggressive style. I feel like he feels the need to fight because that's how he recently found success after switching to controller but I think adapting to older/less aggressive styles would probs help the team perform better overall. U can tell they're still good but they're not able to find fights to fight rn without blatantly pushing a catalyst with a building. TSM read the meta arguably first or was one of the first, but they're not playing it as well as some others teams as of the moment
My idea, for comp only, is that everybody should have 2nd zone knowledge off the drop. It would reduce some rng, increase the skill gap and allow teams to play something other than a control character.

The big thing you need to ask yourself is who do you replace on the current meta? The main comp played is Seer, Valk, Cat. The main person you would replace would be Cat but Cat is unrivaled when it comes to holding down buildings and if you are the only team without a Cat wall in end game, you are at the mercy of other Cats. Then you wouldn't replace Valk with NewCastle because their roles are different. You would be losing the best rotation tool for another defensive support legend which would be redundant because of Cat. And you can't replace Seer. This is just the way I see it

I think a good counter to the catalyst meta would be fuse. Possibly, a Fuse, Seer and Valk combo.

This has been the most boring meta to watch since the start of apex, imo. I'm just hoping it changes again next split, to something more aggressive.
