It’s has less followers possibly cause of the style but is the most successful brand . So idk can’t really say but my guess is the ads are geared towards a certain demographic but the success of it is because people wear it however they desire vs the demographic ads
It's a heritage brand, most of its customers are old people, the rich, or people who don't have time to follow clothing brands on social media. Look at the angry comments at the bottom of this video. They're Ralph Lauren's customers. New Ralph Lauren is trying to appeal to younger customers, hence they hired Emma. But IDK if it's working.
it’s because we don’t really have a need to learn another language. america is very large and not surrounded by lots of countries speaking different languages, so we can get away with only speaking english. with English being such a globalized language with it being the most common second language, non-English speakers have an incentive to learn English in order to be able to communicate with others who don’t speak their language. since they have an incentive, they learn english better. there is also a vast amount of popular english media to learn the language from. I am not sure how the schooling system is for other countries, but our schooling system is also not very strong for learning language as it is not prioritized. yes, they may require you to take a few foreign language classes, but they are very surface level and not too effective because we do not really practice applying the language and using it, which is the most important thing for language learning. I wish multilingualism was more common among Americans, but because of those circumstances we can usually get away with only speaking English
@@Ashley8887AJGLITTER Well, considering that Americans don't even bother to learn another main language in their own country - Spanish says a lot about Americans. And by the way, English is not as global a language as you Americans think it is. The reasons for the reluctance to learn languages lie in other reasons inherent in this nation and no more. Learn languages and then you wouldn't have to «paint such a canvas»
@@SashaFox22 no need to be condescending. i was just stating the facts. by the way, english is actually a global lingua franca, with the majority of english speakers not being native speakers. and by the way, i am trilingual: english, croatian, and spanish. again, america is very large and cities are very spread out, and it can be hard traveling from city to city around the country, unlike europe. the amount of spanish speakers around the country is not evenly spread out. you will have areas/cities where more hispanics have immigrated to, like california, so of course they will have more spanish speakers and more people learning spanish. for other areas of the country, however, like the midwest, there is not many spanish speakers, so less people will be incentivized to learn spanish. just because you're european doesnt make you superior. there are clear geographical reasons for why people are more likely to learn multiple languages in more dense populations like europe, as opposed to a country where the population is more spread out like the united states. everyone loves to joke about americans for being ignorant about world geography, when you people have no clue about the geography about our country, only knowing the cities of New York, Washington, and Los Angeles... LOL
@@Ashley8887AJGLITTER It's great that you speak languages. You see, despite all the reasons you have listed, you have learned languages. Isn't that right! So about geography, Americans are very uneducated in this regard. And there is no need to justify them. Unlike other people who at least know the key cities, Americans don't even know that, and they look silly . About Spanish-speaking people . And why in a country where Spanish is one of the main languages, along with English, it should not be studied, and by the way, there is no such thing that there are more Spanish speakers somewhere and less somewhere. They live in all states, they just managed to learn English (so it seems to you that they are localized only in certain states), they just are not lazy, unlike Americans, to learn English and master it perfectly. there is nothing shameful about knowing or not knowing the language. But it is not necessary to cover snobbery with nonsense and position the language as global just because some American is too lazy to study it.
i dont see how her knowing languages makes her point less valid. She learned languages prolly bc she either wanted to and didnt need to, which is common around the US, lives in an area with a high concentration of speakers, which is not everywhere despite what u may think, or did it bc it benefits her financially. As for americans lack of geographical knowledge, americans live in a massive country and dont have to leave it. The USA is bigger than the entirety of europe. Ur ignorant if u dont realize that. And ofc the vast majority of americans know key cities in certain countries such as london, tokyo, paris, rome, etc. due to exposure in media and importance in history. They dont need to know where bourdeaux or hamburg or liechtenstein is bc they dont live in europe and that stuff doesnt matter for them. Do u know all the african countries and their major cities? If u do good on u but most europeans definitely dont bc its not important to them and they dont live there. Same thing for americans just a different area. Ur point on spanish speakers is so braindead i genuinely dont know if ur trolling or are truly this ignorant despite ur seemingly supreme and superior european knowledge and education. Spanish is one of the 'major languages' in the same way spanish is a major language in france. In both countries spanish is spoken by 13% of the population. Pls tell me now how all french speakers should know spanish. Lets be generous and include people who know spanish as a second language. A whopping 16% the same percentage of italians who speak french. Should all italians learn french too? Ofc not. Also americans are required to take a foreign language class and in some states like texas (a south/southwestern state which is where most of the countries spanish speakers are due to proximity to mexico) that foreign language is required to be spanish. Americans just never have use for it outside the spanish speaking states and forget the languages much like how english is a requirement in japan but japan has low english proficiency due to them not needing it. Its insane u think u know more about a country u dont live in saying 'they live in all states' like no she means if u go to the midwest there are literally only white people america is incredibly diverse and different immigrant groups affected the populations of regions like how black people are mainly in cities or the south, latinos are in the southwest primarily, and lots of central european ancestry in the midwest/north midwest. Some areas literally are only white people and its not people from spain growing up speaking spanish its nations from central and south america so trust me spanish groups are concentrated in certain areas. Trust me she is not the snob here ur acting superior and like u know more about america than an american. I dont understand this denial about english being a global language either. Why do u know english and not another language? Why is it the most learned in the world? How come everywhere i went in europe people switched to english with me even tho most countries have incredibly low native english speaking populations? It seems ur the ignorant one here.
