I bought the 4a right after it released. It's been 4 years since... Although I could get a new phone at anytime I choose, I haven't changed a handset in the last 4 years & I think I've really gotten attached to this amazing phone. Always comes thorough & never crashes! (:
@Aksiyon Bizde yeah, 4s on iOS 9 is very slow. Thankfully, we still are able to downgrade it to iOS 6.1.3 :) it’s fast as hell on iOS 6 (maybe even faster than iPhone 11 on iOS 13)
Still have and still using this amazing phone up to now :) I bought it in November 2011 and until now it's still works fine.. Only thing is that it gets slower each time I update for the new iOS version, but overall it's a worth for investment! Not bad for 660€ for four years :)
it's still crazy to me to think we're at the point where we can have a 2.4 f-stop in a phone this small. This thing looks incredible, can't wait for mine to be delivered.

It was those times you were watching technology have so much potential, devices improve so much year over year, and people caring more about actual features and less about just social media. Nowadays, devices have found their peak in development and improvements, and people are not even care for the features anymore… We have so amazing devices, with cameras that can even be rival to actual cinema cameras in some extent, with displays that have perfected the viewing experience in any possible way, and with software smarter and more intuitive than ever before, but people are just recording low quality vertical 15" videos and uploading them to platforms such as TikTok to “fast-food” consume them. That’s the biggest utilization of consumer technology right now. Back then we used to dream… Now we just live a cold, fast-food life.😢
What a gorgeous phone. I have just purchased my first iphone...4S. So smooth everything comes together so easily, apps wise. I love how solid and weighty it is, although I could see if you dropped it, it would pretty much shatter. Other thing is I don't have big fingers but why do I keep hitting the wrong character. I am glad I held out on the iphone because now I just know what everyone has been going on about. Was considering Samsung gal 3 but to big and quite plasticy. Iphone is so solid.

The iPhone 4s screen is 3.5". i say go for the A5 if you are able to get it activated in your country, but if your looking for something that might not be let go anytime soon, i say go for the iPhone, you can find an unlocked one on ebay for $100. hope this answered your question!

I can't wait to get this, my first apple product, it was either between this or an HTC Design, and well Siri made up my mind. True if you have the Iphone 4 you feel ripped off if you were to buy this model but for people like me that this is going to be their first, well then this is a great choice to start out with.
This was a common problem because of a bug in iOS 5. It was fixed in the iOS 5.1.1 update. The iPhone 4S was never known for its good battery life, either.

mudassir ahmed iOS 8 is not as smooth as iOS 7 was. It can handle the games you mentioned, but surely there is some lag at some point? I have had lag sometimes at games which used to run smoothly on iOS 7. Have you had problems when you have downloaded iOS 8, where you would turn on the phone and then it wouldn't turn on properly until a few minutes later (what I mean is, is that the apple logo has just gone, but the screen doesn't turn on, even pressing the power button, and it just suddenly does it a few minutes later)? This is happening to mine, so I am just wondering whether it is just me, or it's a common problem on iPhone 4s's running iOS 8.
The big thing then was small screens. The big thing now is big screens. You could easily say the same thing for what it is made of. The big thing with iPhone's then, was glass. The big thing now is what they are made of now (plastic or metal or something like that, I don't actually know)
I got my 4s with Straight Talk. It is better than Sprint and is provided by Tracfone Wireless, but runs off of AT&T towers for 45+ a month. The phone is great itself.
I have iPhone 4 and really I just don't think anything past that feels like it is worth getting. I have had my 4 for 2 months and never have I felt like I wish I had a newer rendition. Seriously. My friend Chris has 5 and he honestly can't tell me what's better. And the speed difference is entirely negligible. I'm satisfied with my 4.
I have my 4S its a pretty great phone =) Only bad part is at a soccer game i dropped it and the glass on the rear broke lol Phone works perfectly and so does the awesome camera I am now looking to get the Blackberry Z10 I didnt want to get the iPhone 5 simply because it is not quite that huge of an update The 4S is an excellent phone and is now probably less expensive

Apple does say that the battery needs to break in and battery life will be extended after about a week or so after a new purchase. Im not impressed with the phones battery life but it could get better

Personally, i'd recommmend you wait 5 more months for the new iphone to come out, it aint worth it to buy the 4S now since a new model will be out very soon. However If you cannot wait and dont hope to buy another phone in a couple of years then you should go for the 32GB, 64 is a bit too much unless you intend to keep a lot of music, app, pictures, videos on your iPhone, I hope that answers your question :)
iOS felt just as polished and smooth back then as it feels today in 2023. Gotta give it to Jobs.... He wasn't kidding when he said desktop class mobile. Android on the other hand felt half baked in its gingerbread days. I've cream sandwich was a game changer for android and now it's come leaps and bounds since those days.
I really miss the old iOS, Steve Job's OS. It's beautiful. I think the couple 4S + iOS6 is the most beautiful. New flat design does not look as good.
