* alligator snapping turtles (Macrochelys), Spotted turtles (Clemmys Guttata) and box turtles (Terrepene) are a protected species, and possession in most states is prohibited by law. I hold a state DNR license to use these turtles for educational purposes. They are not “pets”, and they are not for sale* Животные
wow hes super huge! definitely been around. thts why i dont understand ppl hunting them for sport or food ty for answering my question about hunting them yesterday on the live tht guy is living history...also i dont really consider wat u do hunting but more like tracking☺️i really appreciate wat u do its inspiring
Great turtling!
Pretty hard to top!
I knew I saw that Snapper from somewhere 👽
What a juggernaut
That male could not look more different from the dominant male temminckii out here - wow! Incredible turtle and love the still shots that you put at the end of the video. What a striking eye!
Looks like a Suwannee alligator snapping turtle, a distinct species from temminckii
@@jointcerulean3350it is not a Suwanniensis, this would be the Apalachicolae species. Separate river systems
What a BOSS! How much Tony weigh? I appreciate all the work you put into these videos and the content you get for your channel. I always am happy to see when you've uploaded something new. We'll, I have a great day bro. I'll catch you on the flip-side.
Richard from Arkansas
Amazing video and what HUGE ALLIGATOR SNAPPING TURTLE as like 100 lbs !
I love beautiful colorful cooters, what bigger ones like baby ones to big ! Good job, Greg and guys !☺️👍🐢❤️...cute fawn in woods !!🌲❤️
We Got a good species diversity in this one
i would love some cooter updates or basking timelaspes!
Those marks on his shell are very intriguing indeed at 17:45 How old would you say that alligator snapping turtle is with the weird scars? I have no idea 100yrs? older younger?
Do I know anything about turtles? no. Do I know what a river cooter is? no. Did I laugh when he said I just found a river cooter? yes. hahahahahahaha
Cool
what is it in the south part of Georgia? or where are you finding all these turtles? Can you make more videos about the painted turtles? I love them❤
The rare Suwannee snapping turtle, a distinct species from temminckii
Yes, separate species
The strange marks on the shell look like the could be from old screws.
I was thinking it matches the teeth on pliers, like if someone caught it and either beat it with open pliers or tried to use them to hold the turtle down to remove a hook
No gators there? I thought you were in central Georgia? My butt puckers a little when you get in deeper murky water 😮
Gators go all the way up the Flint, into Riverdale and College Park. In this video I mention some of my adult snappers have alligator bite marks on their shells
@@GregsTurtleHaven Ahh ok you just have ballz of steel I get it lol 😆
Oh yeah! Greg love the turtles and the vids oh and you dropped a pin 📌 can I have it?
If you look up the word megacephaly in the dictionary... you'll find a picture of this beast! Cheers!
When you capture these turtles do you rfdi chip them at all So that way when the captured in the future all that information that's been recorded so far for that particular animal is available for the future because that wouldn't be a bad idea to ship them that way you get a continuous record on the same animal if you kept should capture it five years down the road Or every year down the road or once again in 30 years you got all that information from when the last time it was caught. so I would suggest chip in them and you want to chip them in the upper thigh or the back of the thigh is where I've seen people chip turtles and tortoises that way you're not going to get bitten and you can scan them pretty quickly that that area. are you planning a chipping them or have you chipped any of the turtles in the past?
Yes, they get a PIT tag and the data is submitted at the end of the year to Ga DNR and US Fish and Wildlife Service
USA record....218 lbs.
