Picaso Ent Yes you can! You can double left mouse click on the top clip. In the Effects Editor, click on 1. 2D-3D>Studio PiP. The product being used must be Studio Ultimate because Studio 18 basic doesn't have anywhere near all the buttons shown on these screens. No way can I follow this tutorial in my editing software...........
pauken3 That's right. Ultimate version. If you don't burn Bluray or need the NewBlue FX plugins, then Plus would be the way to go. They call it "basic" for a reason.

Hi, I have Pinnacle Studio 18 Ultimate. Before I had 17. I have been using Pinnacle about 9 months. It has good features and it is easy to use. So I kind of like. BUT: I think it has bugs - and those bugs are serious because it makes editing maybe 35% slower. I edit a lot nowdays. I have to often restart Pinnacle or/and restart computer because Pinnacle falls. (Sometimes Pinnacle falls and won´t open again and I have to restart computer. Sometimes I restart computer because Pinnacle will then work faster for a while). When I open Pinnacle it works fine for a while, but then it goes soon slower. For example - if I go to effects and do something - for example if I crop a video or photo, I have to wait too long before Pinnacle shows the result. So it takes lots of time to get what I want. I have a new computer with 16GB. I have made the newest update (February 13, 2015). I have done resets for Pinnacle. Pinnacle is cheap - only about 100 dollars. Can you ask better for that price? Anyway I would like to hear has others problems and what Pinnacle thinks about this. I had problems with 17 also - same problems. 18 is a little bit better.

***** Man has to have power in computer if he uses Pinnacle. I have used WMM also. Exported videos has better quality with Pinnacle if you put the export settings right. But Pinnacle is also not perfect.

No, no, no.............not again. I thought you guys of Pinnacle finaly managed to keep the program working. But, same as Pinnacle versions before: After you work with it a few months and make things a little bit more complicated on your movies it collapses over and over and over again. As a test I just try to make a movie of 3 JPEG pics with "transition in" in it. As soon as I hit the button "standard transitions" I get the result: Pinnacle Studio isn't working no more. Disc Space 328 GB!

Worse software on the planet....one HUGE feature I HATE about this software and a potential one that would keep me from ever using this software again, is the fact that when you make changes to one track on the timeline, the other tracks don;t move according to keep everything in sync. For example, if I lay video on one track and audio on another and I decide to make a change in the video in the middle of its track to make a clip longer in that track... the audio clips in the other track stays put... now everything is out of sync, and I have to go back a readjust everything. fine for simple videos like in your tutorial here (in your tutorial here, @13:53 see how items in track 2 moved but the item in track one didn't) but for large complex edits this can become a nightmare. This is a real BIG headache and the dumbest thing I have seen in video editing. Unless you can help me and show me a setting to correct this that I have not seen... i WOULD NOT recommend this software.

I BOUGHT 18 SO I HAD TO BRUSH UP. BUT I DONT SEE THE MARKERS FOR THE SOURCE MODE.
I used an iphone6 to take my footage, however, the clips show terrible quality once imported into Pinnacle. Why is this so.....?

Mauro Guerreiro Yes. There is an "eye" at the beginning of the track. Use that to turn on or off the video for that track.

showyourautotv The render files can be deleted. Setup>Control Panel>Storage Locations.
There you can delete the rendered files.

You could do that with pretty much any software, you're just triming the clip

kev kas Click on the little "gear" on the timeline tool bar. Select Aspect and you can choose either 4:3 or 16:9.

Mind Of Ebunnie I have the PS16 and it exports fast. I've returned to PS16 and forgot PS18. PS18 is slow to open too.
Mind Of Ebunnie QuadCore Intel Core i7-3770, 3816 Mhz - *GB RAM - Is not CPU problem. The PS18 is very slow than PS16. Both run at same cpu.

Sounds good but parts of Studio 18 64bit does NOT work!
The backgrounds in the titles or in the menus do not show up in the timeline.
Facebook Online Have you reset the program? It works just fine on mine.
How is importing with avchd footage with this new 18? I had hell with the 16 version and had to reformat everything?
Jason Lam I do it all the time. It's not hard to import. I had no problems with PS16 either. Depends on your computer hardware.
