I have another video on my channel where I do talk about cutting those supports out. Are used a grinder with a cut off wheel for most of it and a saws all for that section. I’m pretty sure I drilled for holes in the corners to make it clean as well
No you don’t and for this rig I wouldn’t care the depth since it’s running a mud motor. If driven it through 6-8” of water, but that’s long gone. My new boat has transducers on the transom for side scan and on the troller for other needs.
You might want to switch to a raised bow nav light. As it is, the trolling motor base blocks the port light from being seen by oncoming traffic. If you don't run at night, probably not a big deal. But definitely an issue. DNR or Coast Guard would probably call you on it. Just a thought. ;-)
Works perfect even in chop. We typically fish small lakes 45 is Plenty all day. We did sell this boat with a trolling motor upgraded to a 55 on an 18 foot
I have that exact same boat. How did you put your black access doors in casting deck with the big cross braces that are underneath? Did you chop them?

You gotta put that transducer on your transom. You don’t know your depth, unless the trolling motor is down?

Only run at night in duck season. Motor comes off.
How well does the 15hp push it?
Got about 17MPH. It was only to get on the water when we bought the boat. Quickly upgraded once I found the mud motor I wanted
Hi,45 pound thrust doing ok with this size boat is it not to small?

What length shaft is your trolling motor?
45” on this one. It I upgraded to the Terrova for the spot lock
@@Craft518 thanks have the exact same boat just wanted to know what I could get away with
I’d be afraid that loose cable in the water would get hung up on brush...
Horrible motor for bass boats due to the pain on stowing it with no handle to pull it up
That motor is long gone. Moved to a terrova on our new boat which is equally difficult with no handle but I can’t complain. It gets the job done
Take it off for duck hunting. Trust me
It was removable. My new boat has one that stays but stows up on the rear and a removable troller so that goes off in the season.
