Times have definitely changed. I remember when there was a type of shame that came with being some form of otaku here in the US. The anime lifestyle was something that you kept secret so as to not be judged by your parents or friends as a weirdo and possibly a pervert, since most of what people knew about anime was porn. But nowadays just wearing anime merch to school is accepted and normal, as is watching it in general. The absolute 180 that anime has had in the western world in such a small time is insane.
As a Southeast Asian non-Filipino, I came to MLB for the LA Dodgers-Hololive collaboration, I actually stayed for Toronto Blue Jays (because why not). It's fun to see other clubs have stellar cast, and thanks to the recent trade deadline, I am able to see other players like Judge, Soto, Vladimir & Wagner become something of players best representing their clubs.
A week ago I didn't even really understand vtubers at all, but after I fell down the rabbit hole and learned about the whole landscape (good and bad), Hololive seems cool af to me and the community gained another fan
Who would have thought Sora-chan would become something like this!? I came in when Myth debut, but seeing this four plus years later... it is still amazing.
This was a magical collab that no one expected, and as a Dodgers fan, all the non-Hololive people were super respectful to us showing up and giving support to the girls. Maybe next time, theyll have TWO tables for merch, crazy idea.

Doing loops around the stadium with all those lines looks absolutely exhausting, I can't even think I have the will for waiting a couple of hours just for merch. Another great showcase of another Hololive event! When that music at 26:17 hits you and you know it's going to end makes me feel a little sad that the video is going to be over, you just want to see more and more of the event.

We're on a quest to go to every MLB Stadium and we just so happened to catch a Dodgers Game for Hololive night. Didnt get any merch because of this crazy line but secured our cards and got to watch a great game. Highly recommend you get those cards graded and found this randomly on my FYP and glad I did. This was my first time going to an official hololive event and it was sooo much fun! When I lined up for merch I ended up around 4:55 on the video and I had to wait 2hrs from that position. Hearing the stadium sing take me out to the ball game with gura was amazing! and the drone show from the TD view was stunning.

Glad you had blast at Dodger stadium.. as an LA native I've been to many games. As for the park, all MLB fans consider Dodger stadium as a classic. Not the shiniest park in the league, but the one with history with a beautiful backdrop.
We NEED this to happen in soccer. It'd be fun seeing them appear in the Premier League, singing "You'll Never Walk Alone". (I'm not really a Liverpool supporter tho)
I'm still so unbelievably happy that I was even able to make it to this event. It was something that, until now, I thought I would only ever be able to experience second hand through videos like this. Walking in and seeing the merch line, I knew I wasn't going to get anything other than the cards, but even so, those three cards were the very first pieces of Hololive merch I had ever owned. That, combined with this being my first time attending an event like this means that they'll forever have a special place in my heart and my (hopefully) continued growing collection.
It coincided with Anime Expo, which I believe Hololive had a BIG showing at. So it would mean that a lot of people that wen to the expo showed up to the game as well to support. Still if they do this in the future they need to at the very least TRIPLE the amount of booths and entrances to account for it. Having just the one line for merch is inexcusable.
More like quintuple it cause I doubt 3 booths would be enough with how long that line was. And if there's something I expect Hololive to do is underestimate the number of fans they think will show up to their event.

I'm still so unbelievably happy that I was even able to make it to this event. It was something that, until now, I thought I would only ever be able to experience second hand through videos like this.
Walking in and seeing the merch line, I knew I wasn't going to get anything other than the cards, but even so, those three cards were the very first pieces of Hololive merch I had ever owned. That, combined with this being my first time attending an event like this means that they'll forever have a special place in my heart and my (hopefully) continued growing collection.

It coincided with Anime Expo, which I believe Hololive had a BIG showing at. So it would mean that a lot of people that wen to the expo showed up to the game as well to support. Still if they do this in the future they need to at the very least TRIPLE the amount of booths and entrances to account for it. Having just the one line for merch is inexcusable.
More like quintuple it cause I doubt 3 booths would be enough with how long that line was. And if there's something I expect Hololive to do is underestimate the number of fans they think will show up to their event.
And triple the amount of merch. I don't think yagoo knew this would be the turnout but hopefully they learn from this event

Ahhh this looks like it was so much fun! I wish I could have gone and done a vlog as well!!! But being able to watch your perspective is super fun to see! Kinda surreal to see the Hololive girls on the big screen in a baseball studio IN America of all places. Also good lord, the biggest reason I couldn't go to LA for the event was money issues especially after having spent so much to go to Japan for Holo Expo, and it seems that even if I had gone it would've been brutal on my wallet. Nearly 10$ ice creams, $63 shirts?!?!?! Welcome to LA for you lmao
