    An update on this case, the officer was fired and was convicted on aggravated perjury. Another trial is set for the assault charge.

      The officer was convicted for perjury. There is no record of him being sentenced (four months later). It is not clear, but he is presumably free on bail. The young prosecutor (Kate Gardner) is now identified as a "former prosecutor" by the Tarrant County District Attorney’s office.

      Conscious I agree. It's a step in the right direction when a cop gets indicted because 99% of the time they get away with murder or assault but even when they are charged, the charges never stick!

      Then blame yourselves. Grand juries and juries for a trial are made up of regular every day citizens of that community. Not police, not government officials, regular people with common sense. If these regular people from the community vote for no indictment or vote not guilty, there is no one to blame but ourselves for the “injustice.”

By defense attorneys, defendants who have ties to the streets, threatening harm on their families, killing witnesses, etc. It goes both ways you dummy.     No reason to detain, no reason to approach. Yet like a predator stalking his prey that cop slowly and threateningly walked over, shoved that man in the chest repeatedly, pushed him away, pulled his shirt closer, twisted his arm, punched him in the face. This is bullying and abuse of power and physical violence and assault. That wasn’t an arrest, a de escalating conversation nor was the man resisting. This is abuse of power. That’s it. Cop behind him watching the fun, smiling, laughing. These are abusers and bullies being protected.

      It is a criminal offense to commit purgery under oath and/or in writing ( police document). That in itself is classified as, official misconduct, actions which leads to teemination. At that point charged for assault, etc.

      Regardless, this cop will be tried.. in all likelihood convicted, then fired. Like it or not, your innocent until proven guilty, not just when it's convenient.

      The LEO obviously profiled the guy. That LEO basically knew he was going to be swinging on that guy the minute he walked up to him.......     Solution: No cop off duty should be wearing their on duty uniforms while working as a security guard. There should not be any officers (public servants) working past their 40 hours "stressful job" and still be carrying a gun. This video and many others, prove that these idiots can't handle stress anyways. Hell, they can't even handle their own family lives without being abusive to their wives and children.

    This cop assaults somebody doing a second job and he is treated as if there's nothing wrong with it, If a citizen did that he would wind up in jail that's where this cop belongs, He wasn't working for the city but he was wearing the city police clothes so everything you did was under the color of law, If the city allows him to wear the uniform doing other jobs then the city should be responsible, And if the city covered it up for all these months they know they responsible. The Mayor needs to either start cutting the blue line or looking for another job.
