Sitting in my chair in Southern Ontario, Canada enjoying a couple cold beers while taking an absolutely stunning ride on the Flåm Railway to Myrdal... Totally blown-away by the beauty of Norway. Thank-you for very much for this video.
Same here, from my recliner in East Tennessee. These vids are great! I'd love to be an engineer, if I could "start over". No commercial trucks, for me then, just Trains.
This has been a great cab ride and I have done a few, but this ranks as one of the best, if not a bit of a heart in the mouth trip as the lines are covered in a good depth of snow. The engineers who built this line can be proud of what they achieved, especially when it came to cutting those tunnels. A first class video and thank you for sharing with us.
I live in the UK,and love the series put out by Canadian tv about people who live in log cabins in the snowy lonely outback, whose only link to civilisation is the railway. However they have teams of workers with sophisticated equipment keeping lines open, and snow cleared for them.I was in complete awe seeing that engine travel in snow so deep that the rails were invisible,or any sign of any previous vehicle. The scenery is breath taking.Well done to all concerned,it has made my Christmas.I would have loved it to be longer, but was left wanting more, which is a sign of true success.
I had the pleasure of travelling on this line a few weeks ago. It was a fabulous experience and one I will treasure for the rest of my life. I enjoyed this cab ride with lots of snow around, thank you for posting.
Very impressive. The scenery, the railway, the train and the quality of the video - all very impressive! Thank you very much for posting. And also thank you for the Christmas Tree which is standing proudly in Trafalgar Square in the centre of London; the 71st which you have sent to us since the end of the 2nd world war. Many thanks indeed. It means a lot!
One comment states this is the best video they ever saw. They're right. The English language doesn't have a word to correctly describe the emotions it brings to life. Numerous elements like hypnotic, frightening, isolation, incredible beauty, are just a few. Personally, most amazing part for me; I can chill on my sofa in Florida and see this.
Fabuleux voyage.
Much gratitude to builders, operators, maintainers of Flam line. I feel the strength and beautiful culture of your country in this video. Jim in Philadelphia
from sunny queensland Australia temp this week max 41oC what a contrast.. did this trip dec. 2004 still remember so much of beautiful norway. thank you for such a professional video.
Amazing how a change in seasons brings out a different and unique perspective to the scenery. By far the best video you’ve posted (and I’ve watched all of them). Takk!
The landscape is Over The Top Spectacular, so different from what I'm used to seeing. Splendid rugged, natural beauty. Thank you for sharing this experience.
I liked the walk up to the locomotive at the beginning and you showed us the one you were driving with the snow plough in front of the wheels. A truly wonderful journey through such beautiful country. I was sad when it ended. Thank you for sharing this with us. Cheers
Excellent, excellent, excellent. What more can I say? I watch quite a lot of train ride videos and, hand on heart, yours are totally the best in all respects. Thank you HCG x (And thanks for showing us the train & loco at the beginning - appreciated).
Beautiful winter wonderland! The mountains, the valleys, the snow just so beautiful, if you can handle the cold! Not being able to see the tracks must be scary tough! Thank you for sharing!
What an amazing ride! Thank you so much for taking us along. Stunning scenery. Seemingly adventurous ride through deep snow. In admiration of your skills. Surely not an easy profession ... 39 Minutes well spent! Will be back another time ... ;o)
What an amazing ride! I have never personally seen so much snow that is shown, towards the end of the video. Born in Florida, now live in Georgia, USA.
beautiful! Gave me a long deep winter procrastination time. Delved deep in thoughts. Amaying atmosphere. At one with nature. Thank you for the upload! Safe ride!
You have done a beautiful video journey as always. A wonderful way for me to wake up at 2 in the morning to such scenery. Best 40 minutes I'll have today!!
As many others have said: thank you for this amazing video. A few years ago in May we took this lovely train trip and it was interesting to see the winter version.
Travelled on this line in summer many years back & with older locos. remember the "Lady in the mist" at the waterfall. Great journey with impressive climb & so much snow!
"When I watch these videos of the trains journeying through the countryside i feel like I'm up in the cab either navigating the train or sitting next to the driver and just looking out the window viewing the beautiful scenery,thanks."-🤠☕☕🌐🚝🚂🚃🚆🚄🚅🌐..
breathtaking lovely scenery, lovely ride, beyond what words can describe,......journey in itself is the reward,...man and machine mutual trust,... fantastic view from the driver's cabin,.....thanking you for the ride........!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Stunning winter train ride in snow and amazing places and landscapes! Congrats for this great video! Thumbs Up Greetings & Respects from Romania All the best - Andrew
Jesus!!! I NEVER saw snow falling, here in Portugal we have just one single point where sometimes snow, but when it does all the roads to the top of the 2000 meter montain stay closed,we cant cope even with 10 cm snow fall in this country. Hate our BEAUTIFULL climate, all turist say we have, because i hate the hot weather completely. I hate our +30ºC plus , sometimes days with +40ºC and this for almost 6 months. So luky you are there for your snow, not to talk about your level of life :)
@balmesh if vandals made something bad, you will know. Rails have low electric signal in every single piece of route. So if something gone wrong, you'll receive an emergency signal or even brake system will automatically turn on. So it's all just psychological thing :)
Great pictures, wonderful to see the landscape in winter. Visited Norway in the summer of 1992 with a interrail ticket. That time you paid € 350 for one month and whole Europe, even Morocco was possible. Celebrated our national day at Bergen. Also travelled with the Flam Line. From the Aurlandsfjord we went back to Bergen by hydrofoil boat. Unforgettable holidays, greetings from Switzerland.
Yet another fantastic video!! HinduCowGirl...you keep doing these and I'll keep watching!! What I can't get over are the mountains in the area. They are HUGE!!!! Again, THANK YOU for posting these!!!
People are wading up to their knees in snow (which means they won't bother trying), but still the driver is announcing the trains' presence at unguarded crossings. Top notch.
Amazing scenery! Thanks for posting! Yup, I can see why it's addictive! It's nice to have no musak, and the warning horn makes it totally realistic! I've always wanted to be an engine driver, and this is about the nearest I'll ever get! Thanks again! ;) BTW the snow-sheds are cool, as are the tunnels, especially the earlier one with the galleries and the side chambers leading off from the main tunnel! Nice job!
It almost looks as if the video was shot in black and white except for the sign posts and stations. I love your videos because here in Denmark we don’t get much snow in the winter season.
I have got to stop watching your videos on my lunch break, especially on grey, rainy days like we have in the UK right now as they are so restful they make me want to doze off! The sound is like a rather soothing white noise and I love the winter scenery (although my wife isn't a fan - she's been to the far north of Norway in winter and she suffers from seasonal affective disorder so the monochrome landscape and the cold and lack of sun isn't her thing at all. Shame, as I love it and I'm envious she's been!)
Very surprised at the apparently excellent traction in starting out from a stop even with snow covered rails. Very much appreciate your work. (and love your RUclips name.)
Stunning video as always, superbly filmed in some of the most beautiful scenery imaginable. Great extra details added about the journey as well. I always enjoy the chance to see you walk the train before departure when you can do it to give us a visual of the equipment you will be operating. Perhaps you could add a quick additional shot of the inside of the cab as well before you depart on some videos? Thank you!

Hail to all the brave workers who endangered their lives to build this line!
Or didn't have a choice :)
Modern day Vikings!

The view at the very beginning is achingly beautiful. The lights in the buildings giving such a warm glow.

This is great. And this must be wonderful for people that can’t get out. Thank you!
I have watched this vid more than once. Just in case I missed something. Never tire of that lovely landscape..
WOW!!! I came across this video and was blown away by the scenery!! The beauty of this trip was beyond words to describe it.
Try this one.

Veldig bra. Har tatt turen mange ganger og har alltid hatt lyst til å sitte foran i loket. Nå fikk jeg det. Mange takk.

The line was started a few years before WW2. Then the nazis finished it. Not to be proud of, but all in all, we should be glad they finished it.
I keep coming back to this video. I think I have watched it at least 10 times. I even have it saved to my favourite railway journies playlist.
Glad you enjoyed it, thank you!
We didn't get the chance to go on the Flåm Line. This I think is the next best thing. Thanks for sharing from us in Australia.
from sunny queensland Australia temp this week max 41oC what a contrast.. did this trip dec. 2004 still remember so much of beautiful norway. thank you for such a professional video.
Hi Mr Neil. How are you? Best wishes from Turkey .
I was just wondering what a snowy winter trip would look like, and this vid appeared minutes later. Thank you for the wonderful trip! ❄
So nice to have a genuine soundtrack rather than annoying music. A most impressive railway.
Very thrilling ride through a winter landscape.I get a warm feeling from inside looking out at the rugged terrain
I DID NOT WANT THIS VIDEO TOO END.
BET GOD SPENT HIS WINTERS THERE!
PLACE IS STUNNING!
Watch it again! :D Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Without a doubt, my absolute favourite videos on RUclips. Thank you so much for these!
Amazing how a change in seasons brings out a different and unique perspective to the scenery. By far the best video you’ve posted (and I’ve watched all of them). Takk!
I strive to improve :)
HinduCowGirl You’ve got a beautiful canvas in which to work with... :)
Thank you for the ride along. When you went through the tunnels reminded of the time i spent working in tunnels.
The landscape is Over The Top Spectacular, so different from what I'm used to seeing. Splendid rugged, natural beauty. Thank you for sharing this experience.

EL18-2252 , with you behind the stick, my favorite ride. Such warm inviting lighting in the coaches, so warm and inviting.
Welcome aboard!

This is the Best train video I have ever seen. Awesome video! HD is perfect.
What an amazing ride! I have never personally seen so much snow that is shown, towards the end of the video. Born in Florida, now live in Georgia, USA.

Incredible view... Mountain... Valley... River... Snow...
Amazing Feat of engineering... The whole track is electrified...
if most country, they just use Diesel Engine to pull those loads...
I imagine that I was in the train for a minute. I enjoyed. Great video. Thank you.
Hey nice train you got there and some beautiful winter landscape.
You must be so proud of your job, it sure is a great one.
Thanks for sharing !

Thirty Celsius? Forty Celsius? That sounds good to me.
tusen takk
Selv tusen takk!
Travelled on the line on my honeymoon in early August, small amount of snow on the tops of the mountains, fantastic..
Most enjoyable. LOVE that scenery. Must be very stressful, though, at times. When you can't see the track, you just have to take it on trust!
Thank God the tracks never move then. -:)
True, maybe flying through a cloud or in the dark at 400 mph is worse.
Not sure - you don't get vandals up there!"
True but enjoyable all the same. Have been there.
@balmesh if vandals made something bad, you will know. Rails have low electric signal in every single piece of route. So if something gone wrong, you'll receive an emergency signal or even brake system will automatically turn on. So it's all just psychological thing :)
Never watched a vid like this....it's hypnotic! Thank you for sharing! :)
Your production quality and on-screen notes rival those of NRK when they make their long videos!
Very enjoyable, thank you.
Wait, this is not by NRK? Holy moly.
Great pictures, wonderful to see the landscape in winter. Visited Norway in the summer of 1992 with a interrail ticket. Greetings from Texas USA. Fell in love with your video 5 minuets in. Well done. Makes me miss winter up north.
Yet another fantastic video!! HinduCowGirl...you keep doing these and I'll keep watching!! What I can't get over are the mountains in the area. They are HUGE!!!! Again, THANK YOU for posting these!!!
Thank You for this excellent video, faultless !!
Outstanding! Loved every minute of it.

By the book :)
Another wonderful video. Thank you for posting it. Stunning!
The Snow is Glistening and the Wind is Whistling, so happy tonight , such a wonderful sight, Driving a Train in a Winter Wonderland ^_^

The level of snow in Vatnahasen was epic

I love train videos and the snow ❄️ scenes ...still not sure why.
Wow!!! Very nice! Thank you for the ride along!
Thanks for sharing this video. It was especially enjoyable for me as it was 30+ degrees C here in Sydney today (high 30’s tomorrow.) 🐨🇦🇺
It almost looks as if the video was shot in black and white except for the sign posts and stations. I love your videos because here in Denmark we don’t get much snow in the winter season.
Wow, beautiful train
Waaw how amazing this trip seem I rides in this train and feel enjoy the moment you make this video. . . Thank you for nice product.
I've been on this in the summer this year when I went on a cruise to Norway, stunning journey
Thanks for the Ride. Wisconsin in America and I wish I was there.
Amazing train ride with a spectacular winter scenery in Norway. Thank you for sharing.

Beautiful country. Thanks for the ride through it!
This is one of my most favorites for quick relaxation :)
Wonderful winter ride! Thank you for sharing this with us!
The most beautiful trip of my life! I've been there in March, 2018.... unforgetable!!!
Out of all of your videos HCG, this one is my favorite. ❤️
Love to see the beauty of nature and snow fall
Wow, amazing tunnels! Thanks for the beautiful video!
Very surprised at the apparently excellent traction in starting out from a stop even with snow covered rails. Very much appreciate your work. (and love your RUclips name.)
Difficult conditions...very interesting video! Respect from Romania!
Your best video yet. Thanks HCG!
SlowTV at it's finest! Tusen takk!
Tusen takk!
Absolutely fascinating, gorgeous landscape. Strange to be able to go when the track is completely obscured by the snow.
