I was friends with Bill we went to high school together. He always knew exactly what he wanted and what Warlord should be. He knew every Ritchie Blackmore lick and move too. He was a really nice and humble guy. He wasn't into it for the sex, drugs and rock and roll. He had a vision and wasn't willing to sell out. It's a shame to lose him so early.

Though absolute(?) strangers, thats exactly what i just thought. straight, sincere hard/heavy rock n roll, you do get the sense of purity.

Perry, I am the James in question. Spent two years in Los Angeles w/Warlord. It was an epic, interesting time in my younger years. Also visited with Bill in Tarpon Springs back in December 2003. I first met William in Tower Records on Bascom Ave in Campbell. We spent time in the various clubs checking out local bands, including Y&T before he left for North Hollywood. The Upstart Crow at the Pruneyard where Bill worked in that time period(1980). Times I shall never forget. Thanks Bill❤🔥RIP

Yeah, I was a wannabe in high school so I had top notch stuff, a great Telecaster custom-deluxe and a Fender Supertwin Reverb and one night he calls up and says he needed to borrow my stuff and was about to do a show. I had to race over and drop it off. That was definitely the most my equipment ever got played. He was so shy and humble and yet could have had many of the best looking women in high school. It's too bad as they "only the good ones die young."

This is a HIGH CALIBER BAND, as good as the famous bands like Iron Maiden Scorpions Quensriche etc. Sad that the big record company when blind on them. RECORD COMPANYS miss a GREAT opportunity of a lifetime. LONG LIVE! WARLORD.

They were still in San Jose when I met Bill. I met him through some older dudes I was jamming with when I was around 13 or 14 years old.. He was the first rockstar I ever met. 🤘He was very excited to show us all The Yngwie demo. On Cassette!! He had just gotten from Mike Varney of shrapnel records that week. After we all hung out for a bit I was taken over to the drummer Marks house to have a two hour drum lesson. A month or two after my lesson they started to play child of the Damned on the radio for a hot minute. We thought they were going to be the next big thing. Amazing Band and very important historically. 🤘
Warlord's refusal to become just another LA club act, opting to present themselves on a grander scale instead. To that end, the band rented The Raymond Theatre to stage what would turn out to be the only Warlord live performance. It was filmed and recorded - without an audience present - for the group's first full-length release, And The Cannons Of Destruction Have Begun..., issued in October 1984

I have watched Warlord live all the times they came to Greece (4 live shows in Athens) and i was lucky enough to meet Bill Tsamis in person

Warlord brings so many memories of those years.. I am from Puerto Rico, getting albums was truly an achievement over here, and this gem came into my hands just when I was starting to play in bands. I memorized each song of the album and even covered Lost and Lonely Days on a band I performed.. Truly a Great Band. A big warm hug from Puerto Rico wherever you are now guys!

This was a real treat for me as I've only seen parts of the VHS video, but "Cannons" has been one of my top 10 Metal albums since it first came out. Among other new bands from the 80s like Grim Reaper, Omen, Metallica, Savatage, Slayer, releasing Classic albums....this is true Cult Metal from the golden age!!!!

essa banda tem tudo de interessante. um guitarrista que tem solos muito bem trabalhados, um vocal bom e toda essa energia de rock n roll que vem até bem antes de 80 eles estavam com um som lembrando muito aquele rock n roll psicodelico puxado pro metal. sempre amei essa banda porém poucos ou quase ninguem conhece. OUtra banda tb que é dessa epoca e tem um heavy classico é o Sortilege, grande banda mas pouco conhecida. francesa. experimente ouvir e depois se lembrar comenta aqui.

Have you ever heard an Italian band by the name Time Machine. I'm thinking they're somewhat like Warlord. They have an CD Eternity End among others. Too bad nobody has put up their song 'Riot in the Colonies' on RUclips. No wait a minute, I guess they did - it's under the title Urb Condita 753 A.C. It's got a KILLER instrumental section in the last couple of minutes of the song.
I do have a Time Machine, alas, the engine is blown(again). Too many Saturday night joy rides. I never learn. James

Really? Where was that - know the address? I'm right near there right now... I thought this was done at the Palace or Perkins Palace?
They should have toured in their earlier days. Especially with the first 2 albums. Why they didn't is a mystery to me. If any one can elaborate that would be awesome. They had great chemistry on stage.
After first 2 albums, Bill made the choice to leave Los Angeles with Vidonne, whom he married, instead of staying and promoting, ultimately becoming her caregiver and Warlord took the back burner..
Sad ending. Had he stayed we will never know how far they could’ve and would have gone!
He sealed his fate leaving.
I’ve known them for 40 years!
Mark told me yesterday as Bill’s daughter called him!
Bill had health issues and maybe died a broken man with a broken heart!
He choose love over the music..
Not sure if he was able to live with his decision...
He’ll be missed!!

While Warlord certainly dressed a bit Glam-like, due to the metal culture that was ensuing during that time, their music sounds completely different from their peers in LA. Nonetheless hail Warlord!
