HyperX QuadCast Gaming & Streaming Mic Review / Test
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 31 июл 2024
- Today we’re looking at the new mic from HyperX which is a direct competitor to the Blue Yeti, the QuadCast. This is a USB Multi-pattern condenser microphone designed as a Streaming Mic, Gaming Mic, and Discord Mic. The mic does a decent job at rejecting background noise (while on the cardioid polar pattern), and the shock mount also does a decent job at rejecting bumps of the desk. However, the mic does suffer from serious plosive issues. The A/D conversion maxes out at 16-bit/48kHz, and all around it’s just an alright mic, in my opinion.

omfg i just watched like 10 reviews and now yours and its the only one that actually tested relevant things
yes everyone else wasted my time....
Same here
AlphaGaming's one was just terrible lmao
podcastage is da man
this guy is the rockeninjajump of mics bro dont go anywhere else for mic reviews
Wow finally an actual mic test with different distances, keyboard noise, etc. Thanks! Really helpful.
I think I saw you on the other video in the comments that talked bad bout this microphone when it is in the wrong mode.
@@osman2169 no one is gonna use stereo, ofc he is right
(I use stereo for trolling but still, no one else does)
finally? that is not a new thing xD
First mic review where the reviewer gets so deep into testing he makes a new mixtape on it.
Lmao!!!!
Thank you so much for another thorough review and the recommendations in this one!
P.S. Love the guitar!! 😍 And massive congrats on 100k! Thank you so much for all your hard work & commitment to quality in creating this incredible resource that has helped so many, including me, & will continue to help others on their audio journeys! So proud to be a part of your community!
extremely helpful even two years later, thank you for this awesome demonstration!
Absolutely love your reviews and videos on mics (among other items). Excellent testing, outstanding musical ability, and pleasantly spontaneous singing and humor. I always get a kick out of your musical lyrics, for sure. And thank you, thank you. thank you for being considerate of people's ears when you test stuff. Kudos! :)
Absolutely love the review! I saw the mic in the back of your podcast. I love the chords and the song you made using the microphone and it sounds amazing. Great review!
The mic stand threading and shock mount to me makes it a much more complete package than the Yeti. Not looking like a horse suppository helps too. I moved on from the Yeti and use XLR mics now, but if I could go back in time I’d take this over the Yeti. Thanks for the review, and congratulations on 100,000 subscribers!
I do feel the same 👍🏻
What a great review! Actually testing all the potential issues without ANY wasted explanation in between.
Loving all reviews from this channel
WOW, you knocked this one right out of the park, especially when you talked about the microphones FOUR POLAR PATTERNS. Thank you Bandrew for all that you do and it's about time that someone with a great and well-rounded understanding on "What Does a Microphone truly need to have a great sound, ONE POLAR PATTERN 😎. I'm looking and do I see a 100,000 on the SUBS. CONGRATULATIONS brother you truly deserve it, You are the MAN. So remember this: You got the Juice now Bandrew, You got the Juice. THANKS.
Love how detailed your videos are. Keep it up!
Nice and honest review Bandrew! Also congrats on reaching 6 digits on that subscriber count, keep up the good work dude.
My entire audio setup for game recording is based on your reviews. I just love watching your videos!
Appreciate all your hard work on these vids, was a toss up between this and the yeti for me, but you cleared that right up!
you're absolutely a beast in all your reviews broh keep it up the good work loved all videos i watched so far !
I was just about to get this mic. But thankfully you convinced me to find other options. Thanks man your reviews are very helpful
I like your mic reviews, as you always go in depth into detail with voice, sounds and different mic settings. Always trust your reviews.
these are the funniest review videos. I mean all is super useful for sure and I'm very glad you made this review including a showcase of its stereo setting and how far away it picks up your voice but it still has a little comedic value and I love it
“Audio gets loud in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.”
Me *Doesn’t change volume at all
Also me, “My earrrsss!”
ohhhh sorry ard
Bruh
Finally. been waiting patiently for a week. Congrats on the 100k Bandrew. Cheers.
Congrats on 100l subs Bandrew. Keep up the great work of throwing mic boxes around.
Bruh thank you for actually saying what key switch you're using in the keyboard in this review. Too often reviewers say 'this is what it sounds like when typing!' but that tells us literally nothing! MX blues are a good example of a fairly common loud switch as well!
Congrats on 100k! A silver play button well deserved!
i paused the video at 4:22 to let you know your reviews are amazing and extremely helpful! Keep up the good work!
I am glad I was not the only one that did the same thing and thought the same exact thing here.
super helpfull, firstime watching your videos, amazing! thanks for a good and honest review!
Thanks for the greeting. It's been a while since I (a gamer) felt this welcome.
You do an AMAZING JOB reviewing mics. Keep it up!
A decent mic in my opinion. I'm sticking with my at2005usb since I live in the dorm and have noisy roommates. Dynamics are pretty good for someone who lives with roommates.
BTW, congrats for the 100k subs!
Have you considered the Samson Q2u?
Congrats on your first 100k subscribers!!! greetings from Chile
Congrats for the 100k 💪❤
Congo man! 100K Subscribers Finally. Hope to hit a million soon. Peace!
Thanks for making an actual decent, reliable, and watchable mic review! You really helped me out here.
First time checking out your channel. I must say I enjoyed your video review. I truly appreciated all the hard work that went into creating such an informative and entertaining review. Thank you! Subbed!
Thanks a lot for your reviews, I've carefully watched many of them and your favorite mics article. I was looking for a nice-looking mic and a good price-quality relation for my job meetings, webinars, recording my on-site tech-talks and starting with some podcasts (with a guest across the desk from time to time). The HyperX QuadCast is the chosen one! lml
Just got this mic. Love it..! 💘
Thank you for doing this! I'm newer into looking for these specs and stuff so I'm still learning the details of the audio world. But I was on the fence about dropping the money for this microphone but you've helped me out! I actually will use two of those different recording modes so this was very helpful!
Congratulations on the 100k mark Bandrew!
Watching this after I just bought the mic, really helpful, wish I saw this sooner but at least the mic looks cool...? Lol great video man I am gonna go to you every time I need a tech review.
You are the only place I come to for mic reviews
100.000!!! Yeaaaah congrats
Awesome Job and congrats on 100k
Man, Stereo is very cool for music, check again
Ikr it's sounds good!!
@@tomidrozdec9787 depends on your voice :D
no, it's a marketing product. You buy this because there is a sticker hyper X.
@@18CC no i would buy it because it sounds good tf are you on about
i love that you tested recording music as well.
probably gonna buy one. hella useful review man. thanks
Congrats on 100k!
Thank you for the excellent review, To put some perspective on why I want a mediocre 4 pattern mic instead of a good 1 pattern mic: I'm buying this for a single specific purpose That I don't intend to do more than once a month (Conference calls) But If I buy a mic for that that doesn't have other polar patterns, then it's only useful for that limit usage. Having the other options means I might be getting more use out of this.
Thanks helps my decision. I think you asked what drew us to it. I liked the way it indicated mute and the suspension mount. It does seem to have a bunch of stuff I don’t need and didn’t know about.
Wow! I was enjoying the review until, boom! You started singing. Then, I was really enjoying the review. I wasn't expecting such a great voice and musical instrument playing. Thanks for the review! I'm glad I got to see/listen to how the mic performs.
Super video, mate! Well done, it really helped!
Nice, just what I wanted to know, great review
Congratulations for 100 k
I absolutely love this review. Great job! 😂😍
bro I will never buy a microphone without check your channel. I really appreciate youre sincerity about it! Thank you and keep going that way!
I'm getting it because the S looks so cool with the RGB lighting effects. Thanks for this review. I wouldn't have gotten it just for form/design alone. I'm happy to hear it's a great microphone, too.
Congratz on 100K! Here’s to 1M 🍻
Thanks so much darkmew.
Really nice review! Thanks :D
Great review man thank for all the info
Congrats on the 100k
That Riff you made with the guitar was pretty damn good 🤘
Thanks man.
I just wanna say thank you so much for letting me know when audio gets loud 😂
Very professional review, I LOVED IT
Hey, would you recommend this with a price under 100 even though recordin music with this isn’t the greatest? I’m just wondering if the sound quality is that good compared to lower price.
I always search for that full bass, strong and clean radio/podcast sound, similar to the fullness of proximity effect when using dynamic mics, and for years I miss that in your videos, maybe because you remove or decrease them or its just your voice is naturally has not that deep tone. But today, with this mic particularly, finally I hear what I wanted to hear from a mic after couple of years and almost 100+ of your mic reviews For the first time in your videos I hear a mic that has clean fullness right out of the box, even with your thin/sharp voice tone! WOW!
You've helped me so much thank you!!!
I just bought this mic. Thanks for the review, very helpful.
How is it? Thinking about buying it!
@@logansmailes3164 It sounds great, solid build quality, and the build in shock mount is quite nice. Also, the included adapter for the boom arm feels pretty solid in hand. Hope that helps!
Hey Congrats On 100K Subscribers Bandrew
So which microphone would you recommend instead for a streamer?
I NEED TWENTY POLAR PATTERNS!
Congratulations on 100,000 subscribers! Definitely well earned. Do you have any thoughts on the CAD M179 by any chance?
I was going to ask if you were going to review this but since I noticed it sitting there in your last podcast I assumed it was coming at at some point :D
Awesome review as ever man! 😁.
congrats! You just hit 100k Subscribers :)
Your reviews are amazing
freaking finally100k subs btw possibly review the tonor q9?
Came here to see a review about the mic, and liked it because of the music. Niceee!
Thank you so much for the review, I've been looking through Microphones to find one for replacing my headset and to do a bit more professional work, and this showed up.
As my headset is a HyperX headset, I wanted to know if this microphone lived up to the HyperX standards, or if it actually worked for more than 2 weeks without having to send a report to HyperX to say "My left ear and sound card are dead" to then immediately get sent replacements because it's so broken that they don't even need evidence their devices don't work at this point...
Sorry, rambling. Thank you for the review, seriously, this just saved me a little bit of money, I think I'm just going to continue looking into the Yeti. Voice acting, music, and just chatting with friends, so I feel it's the best option at this point (especially since- as you said- most mics ARE just Yeti rip offs that want the same features so they can ride that wagon).
It's celebrate 100k day! Great video BandrewWk (kinda like Andrew wk, but to celebrate 100k? Did that make sense?)
So which cardioid mic would you recommend over the QuadCast then?
I'll never buy a desktop mic but you're so entertaining that I watch them anyway.
Would you recommend this mic or Rode NT USB ? I'd like to use it for both streams and recording (mostly acoustic) music
This is probably the best mic review I've seen.
What was the Boom arm you are using? I just got one and dont know what to buy for it. Thanks
Hi, on the aux out at the back can you configure it so that you can hear the the music on your PC while monitoring your voice?
Congratulations End last you clear the milestone 👍
congrats on 100k
The quality of your videos is through the roof *.*
So I can use the mic as a mic on xbox and ps4 for my party members and they hear me through that as well?
Really great review. Thank you.
You're welcome. Thank you for the kind words.
man u just start singing i was sold hahaha excellent video
Superb reviews!
Can't you change the direct monitoring volume in the windows sound device manager?
Thank you for your honesty :)
So to me this mic sounds great and looks great, but after hearing your review (you know more than me obviously) I'm after the best cordioid mic you have. I've looked through the vids you have and there are way too many to figure out where to start. So Can someone point me to where the best, not crazy priced, cardioid mic is please?
so if you had one choice of all the microphone which would you take into every situation?
What is a budget microphone that you would recommend everyone? or up to the hyperx quadcom price ?
Excellent review. 👍
hi sir! keep up the good work with your videos! do you recommend the blue yeti or hyperx quadcast?
Hello. I have set the mic gain and windows volume like you, but it’s too quite. Should I increase the gain using OBS Filter or increase the mic gain a bit more. What’s the best way to reach -10db with less background noise?
3:27 is what I needed.
For me the fact that the keyboard is still so damn loud is the reason iam not going to buy this mic. To sad I really really like it optical and cause of the features like the mutebutton.......
@@silasfuller6496 buy rtx and you will have noise reduction
yeah there's programs that you can use to record background sounds and it will mute them.
I like this review so much!
Thank you kindly.
