I remember watching this as a child when the episode came out, a different time, with my mother, and we both looked at eachother in shock at the primal exchange of profanity. It was in the spirit of the words, not the words themselves. Quite a scene and the most memorable in the series for me.

Depthcharge's move at 2:06 was super smooth. In fact, their whole energon sword fight was choreographed like a samurai or hong kong action movie. This show really was way ahead of its time.

the dinobot clone showed how 'better' dinobot was pound for pound against depthcharge, as for dinobot 1 yeah they would of been a good team and probaly become a power duo of the maximals like rampage and dinobot 2 were for the predacons after inferno was nerfed

I love how X has finally won as he has turned depth charge one of the most honourable and justice focused maximals into a remorselessly killer just like himself. One of the best scenes ever on tv
The Canadian airing of this scene actually shows Depth Charge running the blade straight through Rampage's chest at the end... no wonder this show sticks out in my mind now.
Animated may be cartoony, but it's no slouch on the storyline. As a fan since G1, I can honestly tell you I think it's by far the best, most well-written series in all the franchise.

BW had real deaths, unlike G1 G2 G3 had none, only the movie had deaths And they had Hong Kong type action for Depthcharge and Rampage, impressive for the time as well
I remember when they originally showed this on UPN (which would eventually become "The CW" network).... they kept this scene in its entirety. But when FOX got hold of the rights to air it, i recall that they over-dubbed the line Depthcharge says before killing-off Rampage with something a lot less... 'hardcore'.... for lack of a better word. Damned lightweights!

Depth charge was my introduction to beast wars because i got spoiled his death when i was surfing through youtube back in 2011,i like manta rays,i love Transformers,i like revenge stories,why not jumble all 3 to make my favorite maximal
@Velox415 In the first ep. where Depthcharge appears, Optimus tells everyone about Omicron V. Ravage mocks Depthcharge with the memory of Starbase Rugby in the first part of the grand finale. Go to Transformers Wiki, look for Deptcharge, read everything about him, and you'll know about it. Plus the no reference to humans was because the producers didn't explain it well (or forgot to mention it).

Beast Wars/Beast Machines was the last great Transformers animated series. The ones out today (Energon, Armada etc) are far too cartoony, simplistic and childish. Beast Wars dealt with heavy themes like redemption, death, malice, vendettas, etc. It was an animated series for young adults, not some goofy japanimation garbage like the TF series they have out today. I miss this show so much. "Take it right to the pit you sickening piece of SLAAAGG!" Greatest line ever.

Even though He and Optimus put aside their disagreement just this once, Depth Charge followed his main goal to the very end in which killed him.

I think though they learned a lession from Beast Wars. Unlike its predicesor Beast wars only started out with a total of ten charatcers, which gave plenty of space for character development and thus more likeable characters. Nowadays all the transformers shows do the same thing instead of starting off with two large armies.
Dinobot, tigatron, airazor depth charge, and tigerhawk( yes I know he's a combination of tigertron and air razor, but still counting him as a separate maximal) are the main maximals that at least have the luxury of dying in Beast Wars, thank God they didn't suffer a crappy fate as Beast Machines whereas Optimus and rhinox survived the beast wars only to die in Beast Machines

For Rhinox, his spark was corrupted by Megatron before turning him into Tankor. His death freed him of that corruption.
