Nice . As a friend of mine who is a plumber says “ a good bit of tool porn “
That's a nice tool!
Wiha awesome as usual. I love their screwdrivers and small flush snips.
Nice bit of kit
Great video as always 👍⚡️❤️
Great kit, love mine, does all my flex and tri-rated up to 16mm :)
Will the ferrules crimped to a wire with this type of crimp tool, i.e. the shape and pressure it compresses the metal with, result in 'gas tight' contact areas that will not oxidise as the oxygen molecules cannot get to the metal surface?
No they will not. If you want that you're looking at aircraft grade tools (with the correct wire and ferrules only) or machines.
There is a paste like noalox. I can't remember the name.
@@jamesharrell4360 In my region we call it de-ox. I have dipped stranded wire in de-ox and then crimped ferrules on. I don't know how much difference over the long term it makes though. I haven't had a chance to see it over time. It needs re-application every so often on bigger wires in things like disconnects so my guess is most flows out or dries out over a decade.
Bit of ASMR 😯
I used to use a six-sided one and then switch back to a 4. The ferrules fit better in a lot of terminals.
I didn’t see a wide range one like this. It can do down to 28awg?
Can these be used with thermostat wire?
this or the knipex?
IS IT SUITABLE FOR PE4003 ?
Possible site to buy this kit I need necessary
You seem to have made them ferrule
Makes a mess of them, On plc terminals they will stick.
Expensive clicks
HOT... CRIMPING... ACTION!
This video should come with a NSFW warning!
We discussed these crimpers before as they are available with different brand names (like Wiha, Klauke, I believe Gedore and a few others).
Tried them at the Dutch Klauke distributor and they are nice but they doe not perform a full gas tight and therefore worthless for me.
good feedback - thanks - assuming you work in atex applications
@@efixx No, but I do like my ferrules gas tight.
When I started crimping ferrules crimping tools like my Klauke K37 (trapezoidal shape) were (almost) the only option, next to the indent crimper like the K3. And once you are used to getting a crimped ferrule which behaves like a solid piece of wire...
In my opinion and experience it makes for a very reliable connection that has no problems being screwed whereas ferrules crimped with crimpers like the Wiha have pieces of the ferrule (the uncrimped bit) that screws can easily eat into and thus destroy or break a ferrule while clamped under a screw. And yes, while servicing equipment and replacing connectors I have come across broken ferrules more than once and they always had a crimped shape like the one this Wiha makes.
When I experienced that problem with my K37 it was always because of cheap thin walled ferrules.
with ferrules this is pointless, as the screw clamp will crush everything. please dont use ferrules in spring clamps
