Sometimes it hits me simply how good and kind these guys are. I remember them during the start of the pandemic in early march. How defeated they were, even if they did their best to not show it to ARMY. But they pulled themselves back up again, channeled their emotions into their craft, always with the goal of providing comfort, hope and a little bit of happiness, regardless of their own pain and despair. Kindness and comfort are always their first priority, in both their music and their actions. You rarely ever find people like this out there.
So true! Like they were trying to hide it but it was so obvious how cancelling their most anticipated tour impacted them badly... but they bounced back by channeling their energy into making a new album instead

my interpretation of "on my pillow, on my table" was that you start your day on a pillow, and you spend time during the day on a table (eating and studying) and the day ends on a pillow again, this seems like an endless cycle during the pandemic, but time passes and life still goes on, waking up, sleeping or eating are simple accomplishments that deserve recognition and you should be proud of yourself

We should see BTS around here more often. Especially because their songs are in Korean, I feel like a lot of the meaning and of the word plays are getting lost in the translation process, so it would very much help to hear the meaning from the singers themselves. Let's be honest they have some of the most meaningful songs in the music industry. Life goes on was pretty straight to the point / easy to understand but there's some songs that are ALL about metaphors and Korean culture which we as international fans can't get around (Ddaeng?!?! Baepsae!!? Black Swan?!??! DAECHWITA??!!!)
Yes, i really love the wordplays & metaphors in BTS songs..which makes their songs so beautiful, meaningful & thought-provoking at the same time. In my opinion RM is one of best songwriters when it comes to that.
Yo i feel bad now i used to dislike them bc kpop stans are toxic but they seem really nice n the song is also meaningful.. now this is going to my playlist. *Edit:* I want to thank army for not being rude, i think people don't give you all enough credit( and bts too) , everyone in the comment is being so nice, recommending songs and being really postive, its wholesome. I'm glad i was rec this video, i watch genius to find new artists or to know about the writing process of the songs i like, so when genius posted bts i was kinda skeptical. I still clicked anyway and i have to admit i did not expected this, the lyrics translation are so simple yet they still break down the lyrics further, explaining from line to line and took common objects and personify them to express this message; life goes on, literally, it's really remarkable and them indulging in the songwriting immediately made me respect them 10 times more. I've been exploring their discography and it has such variants, i feel like every song of their's is addicting lol and some songs meaning often turns out to be deep which isnt something you can (usually) expect from kpop or pop music in general (because they mostly about romantic interest, love, sex ,party etc). They also seem so sincere and humble people, i can see why army gets defensive when it comes to bts. And im sorry for generalizing and labeling all kpop stans as toxic (some are and u probly can't change thats but i still wish the Twitter stans chill out, cos they really give bad reputation to kpop.) and i also realised not all armys are kpop stans so i apologize for mixing those two up. Bts are the face of kpop so anything kpop stans do is associated with bts (just like how fan of different anime are labeled as weebs). I'm sorry i cant reply to every comment but again thankyou for being so nice and respectful.
Thank you for giving them a chance (not all of us are toxic just a loud minority, because there are so many fans) btw bts fanbase is called Army (it's an acronym for adorable, representative,M.C,for Youth)

Fr, ppl be hating on them for no reason whatsoever. It's alright to not dig them but u can still respect them and their artistry. You don't gotta hate smh
BTS is not the first or only K-pop group featured on Genius to explain their lyrics, but it’s safe to say they are the best choice for this video series, as their songs contain some of the most meaningful lyrics ever. I don’t even need to mention their vocals-it’s clear in this video. You can hear how perfectly they sing the lyrics, matching the studio version in tone, as if they were performing live on stage. Even the rap lines are delivered flawlessly. They took this seriously, and for that, I’m proud to be a fan. Now, talking about the lyrics-before even clicking on the video, you can tell they’re going to explain everything thoroughly. A 3.5-minute song broken down in an 11-minute video? That’s dedication. Before they start singing, they explain the meaning of the title and give an overview of the song’s message. They begin breaking down the lyrics at 2:21, explaining every part and line in detail. What makes this even more special is that they explain everything in their native language, which makes it feel more heartfelt. Even Namjoon, who is fluent in English, chooses to explain the lyrics in Korean. He could have done it in English, but it resonates more deeply when spoken in their mother tongue. What stands out the most is that each member thoroughly explains their part, showing that they don’t just sing the lyrics mindlessly. Every word holds deep meaning for them, and it’s not just lyrics-it’s a powerful message.
you don't understand how long we've been waiting for bts to go on this genius verified series, they're literally one of the lyricists of our generation. please have them on more often!!
I've always been waiting for a BTS Genius interview!! It's a pity that Yoongi couldn't be here because I know he would've loved to talk about the lyrics as well. The boys's thoughts on their lyrics are so relatable, and I love how they really put deep effort into creating even the simplest lyric.
Honestly BTS are some of the best-fitting artists for Genius breakdowns : They write some of the most thoughtful lyrics in the current music industry. Hope to see them more here!
I like that BTS songs seem to focus on real emotions and experiences, not only in their lives but in other people's lives (e.i. People facing a Worldwide Pandemic, Abuse or Mental health). It comes across as genuine. And the lyrics feel like there connecting people who are/have dealt with these issues together with them, like there music is a support group. Or you know a safe space to just listen and enjoy. Tell your story & write your truth. "Speak yourself" - RM
I became a bts fan after growing up with all bts fans around me lol. Eversince 2015 bts are really popular here but i finally seriously checked them out in 2018 only. Low-key regret it but iss okay :')
You know they are real artist when they could give the behind the stories and inspiration from the music they made ...I love the message of the song .. especially that “on my pillow, on my table, life goes on like this again ” explanation
Kim Seokjin is known to be the live vocal king for this very reason. He just sang LGO effortlessly and beautifully. All the boys sang it beautifully but Jin's voice is my personal favourite cause he has a very emotional voice which makes a song alive.
They honestly should do this for all their songs, it's really nice and refreshing to hear them talk about the process and the meaning behind their songs. 😶👌🏻
Yes and no. I think that they deliberately don't explain songs so people can take what they want from them. This song was so specific that it can be broken down like that. I'd still personally love to hear their songwriting process and some ideas of what the songs mean for them personally.
okay now do dis-ease. edit: ppl here that are dis-ease enthusiasts like I myself... go watch the video “i’m ill: a BTS essay” it talks about the song and gives you a perspective on bts’ situation in the western industry. it is a video by bby gang, their videos are incredibly well put together!!

Every word holds deep meaning for them, and it’s not just lyrics-it’s a powerful message.
so well expressed!
you don't understand how long we've been waiting for bts to go on this genius verified series, they're literally one of the lyricists of our generation. please have them on more often!!
Thank you I have been saying for a while
I've always been waiting for a BTS Genius interview!! It's a pity that Yoongi couldn't be here because I know he would've loved to talk about the lyrics as well. The boys's thoughts on their lyrics are so relatable, and I love how they really put deep effort into creating even the simplest lyric.
Yeah... yoongi would have loved this interview
Honestly BTS are some of the best-fitting artists for Genius breakdowns : They write some of the most thoughtful lyrics in the current music industry. Hope to see them more here!
*clicks fingers*
Can i just say jhope and jungkooks voices go so well together 🥺
YES. It’s magical

Love the harmony between Jungkook and Hobi at 10:18. Also the chorus and how they were all vining at Suga's part
“YOU DESERVE TO BE ABLE TO SAY THAT- JHOPE" - Jungkook
Ngl, I'm not much of a fan of BTS I've grown up surrounded by it, but this song. Damn. Respect.
You should look up bts spring day & black swan lyricism its a mindblowing masterpiece🤯
You should definitely check out the recent album if you're interested
I became a bts fan after growing up with all bts fans around me lol. Eversince 2015 bts are really popular here but i finally seriously checked them out in 2018 only. Low-key regret it but iss okay :')
You know they are real artist when they could give the behind the stories and inspiration from the music they made ...I love the message of the song .. especially that “on my pillow, on my table, life goes on like this again ” explanation
jhope voice omg
jin is a talented public speaker... that guy can talk gosh-
Right he's so good at it, he shines when he mcs
@@beepbeepcasucha He's a gem.
@Cony Budding why u ask?
Jungkook's voice sounds even beautiful live, so very soothing and the harmonizations he did with other members gave me chills
Taehyung’s deep honey voice is so calming and soothing, he sounds so beautiful 🥺 the only voice that i want to listen in my daily life
Haters: “BTS cant sing live”
BTS: “Sorry what did you say?”
HAHA TAKE THAT 😂
Right!!! 😌 gives me life
