    Millions want to make the NBA yet not many people can make it... My tips (if you give a shit what I think):
    Practice every single day for HOURS
    Get your offense and defense at an extreme level
    If there are people in your school better then you know that you have to work much harder, and know when you aren't gonna get somewhere
    I'm not trying to tell you to give up but if your not at least the best in your team there's no way your going to the pros
    Get your basketball IQ higher, know what plays to make, what to do, who to pass to, when to shoot... KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING
    Don't overestimate or underestimate your game otherwise you'll regret it

I haven't committed to one but this is my last season and looking forward to choosing from one!

    You just need to discover what you are good at, then you try to do that more and more, then coaches will see that quality in you, just try to get more exposure, if you make it to the NBA you need to accept your role and embrace it, make the most of your role and you will move up in that rotation. Good luck.

    I'm going to tell you my whole story and you tell me if I have a chance to go to the NBA...
    5th Grade I started playing basketball and I never made the basketball team in middle school by the way...I did go to one camp called In the Paint basketball, but all I was doing was lay ups and didn't learn any defensive or offensive drills. The only good thing I had in middle school was defense and a little bit of dribbling....Now, it's my freshman year in high school...Didn't make the team...So, now it was time for me to practice because I finally got that chance because the school I went to was close to a park district. After practicing for about a week...I had handles somehow but the problem in my freshman year is that I couldn't shoot, finish with a layup after I get pass people, and my handles were good freshman year but, my ball control was kind of off. Over the summer I was trying to work on my shot and the only time I could do that was at the streetball court near my house. Sophomore year, it felt like I was losing my handles and I made junior varsity but then got kicked off the team because of my grades, and we barely played any games. At this point my height sophomore year was 5'7, so I was kind of touching rim. Towards the end of my sophomore year, I had a little shot but it was inconsistent. My handles were still decent though. Junior year is where I'm at now...I'm 5'8 and I made varsity. I have a good shot now and I can probably play shooting guard...I would say point guard but, I need to get use to the fundamentals and drills coach has us do. Also throughout those years, I started watching more of what type of moves nba players do when they have the ball (My favorite nba players are John Wall, Jamal Crawford, and Kyrie Irving). Mainly watched Jamal Crawford because I like his style and the way how he dribbles...Although I'm not as long as him, I try to do that little hop he does when dribbles. Right now, I'm trying to really work on my basketball IQ, defense, offense, ball control, and shot.

    Today is 26/09/2020, i have been training relentlessly for the last 3 years with one goal, making it to the nba. I've sacrificed the end of my teenage years for this dream i gave everything to. I've also been climbing the ladder of my country's divisions. I'm gonna travel to the states next year and meet some coaches and do some tryouts. I am a good basketball player and i have a very organised plan, I promise myself i will make it. Don't mind this comment, it's just for posterity, as if i don't make it it will make me smile thinking about all the memories of this great journey, and if i make it it will be a nice comment to come back to and get motivation in my future career.
    Thanks shotmechanics for this video and thanks Donald Sloan, good luck with your career u deserve it and i really admire yall undrafted players, u keep me motivated.
    Have a nice day and follow your dreams, see you in a few years and i hope my life will change in the best way possible.

    This is why sometimes I don't like youtube training videos.... it's not like you can learn how to get into the nba by watching an 8 minute video, or improve your shooting by 30% by learning the right shooting technique... people(including myself) need to get off the internet and start shooting....

    • @ShotMechanics
      @ShotMechanics  9 лет назад +7

      John Braddock This was a simple interview to give you guys some insight on what it can take to get to the league and how it's not all about high draft picks and rankings... Also you CAN improve 30% in 1 hour with proper mechanics if you have flaws in yours. I see it EVERY single day... After working with Donald Sloan for ONE HOUR we improved his shooting percentage between 5-10% and he's an NBA player who puts in 8 hours every single day. Imagine how much your average 13 year old would improve? It's not magic, it's physics... And it's the reason why Shot Mechanics is growing everyday :)
      That being said... YES get to the gym and shoot haha.

    I've been playing basketball since I was in year 4 (now I'm in year 8, so 4 years) and I'm decent... I'm not the worst, not the best, I'm alright. Right now I play in my school team and we've lost twice and won twice. I'm a small forward, around 158 cm tall and I'm 88 pounds, I can also play as a point guard. I have alright defence, my midrange is uhhhh... I guess it's 3-4/10! My 3 pointers are on point, idk but I just make them when I feel like it lol, don't ask how... so I give it a 7-8/10.
    Overall, my goal is to become a NBA player...
    Say a number in between 1-10 on if I could become a NBA player if I keep training and try my hardest... 1 as in *NO WAY* and 10 as in *YES WAY*!
    Alright, thanks guys for taking your time to read xD... BYE!

    Nice product, but with the shooting hand, the placement of the thumb is critical, since spreading it is what brings the palm off the ball and is part of the process of using the finger pads, feel and setting the shooting arm vertical in the shot pocket. We are, however, born with different flexibility and size of hands. So the amount of spread necessary to achieve the proper palm spacing will vary by person. Sometimes a lot. And that proper spacing helps eliminate "pushing" the ball rather than "shooting" the ball. I don't know if the shooting glove allows for that variance in hand size and flexibility. I notice the demonstrator's shooting arm is not vertical at the set point and that IS critical, in my opinion, for consistency. Otherwise timing of the arm rotation during release is introduced and must be the same with each shot, which can fail you under pressure. The concerns about the guide hand, however, influencing the shot in the video are right on. You can have perfect form with the shooting hand and arm and destroy the direction and feel for the shot with the guide hand.

    I'm 17 years old, 6.4 . I have really long arms and big hands. I am also very athletic and love to play basketball. The only problem is I lack cardio and muscle. If I train these for 2 years can I make it?

    • @LuminousGateway
      @LuminousGateway 8 лет назад

      honestly bro yes you can because I'm 15 and I play very good defense and I have muscle but lack cardio as well I have a former Ohio state buckets point guard his name is Trenton Jackson and he told me with playing great defense and having cardio and having a little more muscle I can make it so bro just train even at arras you excel at 2 years is more than enough to be college ready then training in college will get you NBA ready ... Good luck💯!!

    EVERYONE IF YOU ARE TRYING TO MAKE A SCHOOL BASKETBALL TEAM, WORK ON YOUR BALL HANDLING, COACHES WILL CHOOSE BALL HANDLERS OVER SHOOTERS, THEY WANT TO BE ABLE TO MAINTAIN THE BALL AND AT LEAST HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO SCORE IN THE FIRST PLACE.

      +Squiddy Catt don't do an hour train all day if you train an hour all the hours you take off will let others take those hours and use it so they can be better than you also don't take days off if you do someone can take your spot so keep believing and train hard eat right have good grades and you'll make trust me you know what when you see this train right now or someone's gonna take your spot

      Thunder kid I'm in the same shoes as you my advice based on how good it's starting to look for me is go to junior college and out work everyone their you will get the scholarship if you show out and be a team player. Do not shoot every shot you feel you can take if you see a better shot to a teammate pass the ball coaches really look for that in NBA players. Don't try to show off and be a team player it will go a long way.
