I started playing basketball at 13 years old and I haven't made may high school basketball team two time. I'm 16 about to be a senior That year I'll be 17. Is there still hope for me. Btw I'm 6 foot 4.
D Izzy MAN WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE we can be saved from fear , oppression , depression , worry , self doubt ,emptiness , poverty , unhappiness ,confusion ,time wasted , diseases ungratefulness , hate , sin and hell just by saying "JESUS is Lord" and believing in your heart that GOD raised Him from the dead (Romans 10:9) I wasn't trying to be funny or some type of way. It's amazingly easy now how easy it is to be saved .ppl still think they have to have it all together , JESUS will help you get it together once you come to him .
Indiana is wrong for firing him like that. You can tell he's passionate. What all he explained was nothing about being on court. It was all about character.
Wesley Storlie I wonder why he isn't like among HS coaches. I have to look into it more. You're right about that. I just didn't want to see him go out like that.
Over the years when your team has top players, you get a chance to see where the Heart of the Coach is, they have to win or lose their Job, so a lot of decisions are very tough, all we ever asked for us the players be given a fair chance, Be held accountable for how he is approaching getting his degree and to be a great team mate, if the staff can give him the tools in practice, that young man is set for life, he will be able to earn a living, Coach Crean is one of those guys in my opinion.
From this interview I know I would've made the league had I sought out coaches who wanted to teach. I was seduced by Michael Jordan highlights to think that all of my hard work was enough. And believe me I worked extremely hard at my game, but the biggest thing I've learned over time is you don't know what you don't know and you need someone who does know to bring it to your attention.
Preach. And like they mentioned it in the video, it applies to life as well. Grew up in a single parent household and never had the opportunity to have a mentor/coach/father figure give me the much needed advice, which I unfortunately learned the hard way through experience. Same for basketball as well, I put in the time and effort but you can't improve on something you don't know. Anyone who's had the privilege of someone putting them under their wing should be grateful and appreciative.
think positive every time I triedout 4 a b-ball team people doubted me but then in the end I made the team only cuz I pushed my self to prove them wrong but fr don't put your self down💯🐐
The beautiful thing about what Dev and the guys are doing is giving perspective. You know a series like A Season's Worth really made me focus on work ethic and 10000 hours made me focus on willpower. Man this is the best basketball channel on RUclips. I've been following the channel since I was 12 or 13 but I mean the older I get the more I understand. #ShiftTeam 🤘 *DING*
Tom Crean fuckin dope!!! Spitting straight facts! Can we get a separate video regarding the breakdown at the end?? Dipping your shoulder is one of the keys to being a deceptive ball handler
FANTASTIC stuff guys. Learned a lot, really like the stat about avg. attention span of 7secs for kids and 8 for adult. I understand so much more about way my brain operates.
Wow this advice has really helped me I am 14 and I cant explain how much this has helped I have always loved the game of basketball so thanks for the advice
No, but you can learn to develop efficiently. 1 hour of intense, detailed training could equate to 10 hours of incorrect practice. Only differences are wasted time and more stress on the body.
I wouldn't say that. Damian Lillard could be practicing his post moves, but the likelihood that he'll use them in a game is minimal. He's still practicing. Just wasting time.
Dan Brown It's not practicing if ur not doing it correctly. Practice makes excellence and if ur not excellent at what ur doing, then u haven't been practicing at all 😇
Now I know that what I've been doing has been bettering me and I didn't even notice it but my peers and my higher ups have and always talk to me about it.
I really need this 💯💯 but not everyone have the chance to be around great people like him 😞 But I still push myself because I KNOW I WILL MAKE IT IF I FOCUS 💯 AND IF I Be AROUND PEOPLE LIKE HIM LORD KNOW 💯💯💯💯
Sokrates: "I know that I don' t know." Not only keys to success for basketball players but in every which way in life: let not any distraction put you of your goals and stay focussed in fulfilling your dreams. THose big words are a lot, lot easier said than done and can only be achieved through continuity, efforts and patience.
I'm 17 and I started playing basketball last year just for fun. After some time I really got into it and I wanted to make my way to the league by working hard. My problem is that I live over seas and getting recognized is definitely hard. My friends always tell me that I started too late and won't make it to the league. I know damn well that if I want something really bad I would work as hard as I need to. Basketball isn't a popular sport here and there are no gyms with basketball courts which makes it really difficult for me to practice my game. I need some help!
Can someone give me advice? I'm 15 and about to be a sophomore this year. Until recently I've rarely ever even seen a basketball goal because of the poor neighborhood I came from. I found my love for basketball one day after I moved out of the hood and into the suburbs. Now I really wanna make it to the nba but I'm afraid my lack of experience will be a detriment to me later on. Will I have enough time to get as good as these people who've been playing nonstop since they were young? Or will I waste my life trying to achieve something I won't accomplish in time?
I had the same problem man just play as much basketball as you can but don't neglect your practice and training that builds confidence and that builds success and that makes you great. See you in the league
My Name Kion Kindle and I want to play in the NBA and I am going to take coach words for it and continue working hard everyday while at Paul Quinn College in Dallas, TX.
Shout out to those who watched the entire interview before making a comment.

Thank you for this comment, it made me want to watch the video rather than waste time on pointless RUclips videos, and I’m really glad I watched it
Indiana is wrong for firing him like that. You can tell he's passionate. What all he explained was nothing about being on court. It was all about character.
Emmanuel Sayeh He wasn't producing wins, and isn't like among a lot of HS coaches. Not a lot of wins and bad relationship with HS coaches = fired.
Wesley Storlie I wonder why he isn't like among HS coaches. I have to look into it more. You're right about that. I just didn't want to see him go out like that.
Emmanuel Sayeh exactly

Agreed because so far Archie Miller has done a disservice to IU!
The will to grow is a hell of a drug.
SERIOUSLY
*get rid of the wants and focus on the needs ..and i need a coach like this man*

Make Humanity Great Again Dido. I put in 100000 hours but barely played organized ball and never met that one coach/mentor to guide me 🤦🏾♂️
Make Humanity Great Again that's true, luckily I've found multiple mentors for myself who help me, wish me luck for the future..

man this guy is like a role model to me now. Wish he could couch me to get better
I wish he could couch me but he would probably bench me instead.
think positive every time I triedout 4 a b-ball team people doubted me but then in the end I made the team only cuz I pushed my self to prove them wrong but fr don't put your self down💯🐐
I appreciate the positivity but there was a joke in my first comment that you missed lol
Lol aye a good one😂😂
Trill Sammy It's not the coach that makes u better, It's u that makes u better! ;)
coaches make all the difference
A lot of coaches destroy players games at the Division 2 and Division 3 level

What a coach 👏👏
I'm a huge Tom Crean fan, I wanted Mizzou to hire him so bad. I hope he gets a great job in the coming years.

THERE IS NO SHORTCUTS TO SUCCESS LOL
you can make a lot of money selling people "the dream". since majority of these fuckers out here want to buy the dream anyways.

find a way or Tell your Mom about it or come to America for some help or join a division 1 college to help you get a college offer
I'm an IU fan and I admit we need Tom Crean back.
will Nah
Wesley Storlie Archie Miller is not what we needed. What we needed was the OKC coach.
Im glad he’s gone tbh, he just was not making it happen, wise dude, but not the best in game coach.
this shortcut for life success not just to nba
First Thing to make it to the nba First
