I just went no contact with a blood sister whom in (3) years never picked up the phone to ask me how i'm doing, never offered me a drink of water when i came to visit, we have never had lunch ect. I paid for her baby shower cake, brought the crib, baby swing, gave emotional support, positive affirmations, love and more all up until she had my niece. I've never received anything from her. I just wanted love and a sister. What's given me the strength to let go is that "I can no longer stay where Iam not valued"!
@@octaviawilliams3159 Thank you so much for allowing yourself to be vulnerable and for sharing your story. It takes real courage to recognize when it's time to step back from relationships that don’t honor the love and effort you bring. Letting go is never easy, especially with family, but prioritizing your peace and self-worth is so important. Gillian’s words truly resonate here…knowing when to protect your energy is a powerful form of self-care. Wishing you strength and healing on your journey forward.
I’m going through the exact same thing it’s hard because it’s your blood sister but it’s even harder when they don’t value you! Pray about it and wait on God sis. 🙏🏽

Friendship is very important and as the good sis Gillian said it's ok that people come give you the lesson and leave. How you shed these individuals depends on the level of friendship, the circumstances you begin the friendship cuz it could be professional so with that said it needs to be done gracefully and direct.
@@shadow_alastor9829 Absolutely! Gillian hit the nail on the head, each friendship brings a purpose, whether there for a lifetime or just a season. I completely understand. It can be really hard to open up to new people, especially if you've been hurt in the past. Letting others in brings a lot of uncertainty, and it’s natural to feel anxious about it. Gillian’s message about trusting your discernment really applies here. Allow yourself to go at your own pace and let connections grow naturally. Remember, it’s okay to be selective. The right people will understand and appreciate the care you bring to building your circle. Wishing you strength and trust in your journey forward.
Mentors can't lead with their baggage or their EGO. Also maybe your Mentor hasn't reach their proper age! Because when I think of Mentors I think older.
@@shadow_alastor9829 completely agree that a true mentor leads with wisdom, not ego. It’s interesting how we often picture mentors as older, but sometimes experience can be just as powerful as age. For me, it’s all about the lessons learned and the insight they bring, regardless of how many years they lived. Thank you for sharing this perspective!
