It's a bugger when you get the ratios wrong But mate we've all done it I know I have..🙄 I'm no expert but I've repaired a few boats. Looks like quality work to me mate👍. I'd be happy . " I bought the boat for One dollar " 👍👍👍👍 Dude
There's an old saying,--[ THE SHOW MUST GO ON ] and you fellas with limited resources managed to keep the show going. Well done!! With your positive and "can do" attitude, there's a lesson in this for all of us. PEARL will sail on to new adventures and no doubt new challenges. CHEERS!!
Another great video Sage! Did you look inside the stern where the bolts come through? You need a big strong backing plate in there, and I would replace the other bolts too, they are no doubt deteriorating too! Lashings would be SO much safer, James Wharram designed these boats to be lashed together, not bolted.
yeah learnt a lot about working with epoxy. great medium if you get the mix right. Anyway she held together and we got out to the reef on time with some friends to have even more fun.
Well done on the on water repair, I was expecting you to beach the boat and try fixing it between tides or haul out. when you do haul out check every cross beam connection and make sure all are rot free and replace the bolts while your at it, so you can have peace of mind as you sail. FYI stainless steel needs to be replaced after time, stainless is brittle and weakens ass it's "worked" (stretched and compressed with the boats movement).
Pls cut that thread part of the bold sticking out above the floorboards…. Someone, or you will seriously hurt their feet/ankle. Good job, I saw no f***ing idiots, just shit happening…. That’s what you get when your learning new stuff by just doing it. And let’s be real, it also happens to every pro once in a while, if their honest…..(watch “boatworks today”)
Great to see father and son working together in harmony even sometimes making mistakes together is fun 🤩 well done boys. Great outcome. 👏👏👏
I notice there’s a Wharram anchored near you, go talk with them and look at the construction. Have a great trip to the reef!
This argument about who f..ked up was hilarious, all that hard work for nothing. I totally understand the frustrations.

Epoxy can cause sensitivity reactions next time wear gloves and barrier cream. 😃

These guys like the quack word a lot. lol 😄
Very impressive. You're proving you really can do anything if you put your mind and brute force into it. Great job!
