I like that you highlight the stylistic differences between the casting pairs. Scrawny and Launders tend to be more wordy than other casters. Scrawny uses a lot of wordplay (e.g. alliteration) and they both often use prepared phrases with some kind of pun or reference in big moments. At the same time, they are comfortable going silent for multiple seconds when nothing is really happening in the round.
Was just about to comment on this, I personally love how scrawny uses alliterations and big bombastic sentences (you need to search you need to destroy). I feel it adds a certain heroic emotion to the players as if they are in an action movie.
Scrawny's wordplay honestly makes this guy my favorite caster in all of sports. He can go nuts in those intense moments but also say some incredible shit like "sjussh tries to Play it quiet. Palace Push gets Punished" and "His counterpart in Degster Does his Damnedest." It's like he's rapping while commentating. It's fucking crazy! Scrawnders are the best.
@@skizark scrawny honestly looks like he's rapping when he's standing up and casting (especially solo) - he clearly really FEELS the rhythm. you can hear it at the end of this round especially with "back out from bricks. flash out from con. (he's gonna put) that smoke on bomb" and then " *absolutely denied* . kit picked up and *heroic arrive* "
One thing I love about Launders/Scrawny is that they actually have a lot of variety in their casts. Launders will do some minor play-by-play himself often times. And in the beginning you talked about when they kind of joke around and have fun during less serious matches as well.
Love these casting breakdowns. You’ve covered my two favorite duos so far and I think it’s amazing how natural they sound in the moment, yet there is so much to be discuss when you slow it down. Looking forward to more iconic cast analysis!
I’d love if you broke down some historic clips as well! I think it’d be super interesting to dissect a major part of why certain clips are a big part of our history. I think about the Cadian pro league win for example. Not an insanely important clutch, but it’s so elevated by the casting
I discovered your channel via the faze vs spirit caster breakdown video and thought "wow this guy really knows what he's talking about!" Then I looked at your channel's description and realised you're THE ddk, that was when I knew I couldn't have been more overjoyed to have found this channel I might not have been following cs (or most esports) that closely ever since I've heard about esports a decade ago, but your name is one that rings across generations. If it's not obvious enough already, I certainly do enjoy your breakdowns on casting like this. Viewing it as an aspiring commentator in a different game, it definitely gives me food for thought about the art and how to deliver a better quality of commentary!
love these videos man, keep it up. laundry and scrawnders are my favorite duo for sure, scrawny has great hype play by play and launders has such a deep knowledge of cs and all the minute details in the game, makes for great commentary
I absolutely LOVE THESE!! Casting is genuinely one of the things that elevates CS esports so much higher for me compared to others, and seeing it broken down is amazing! One I'd absolutely love is the twistzz nuke round in cologne 22 (honestly I love the whole colonge 22 match, incredible cs elevated by incredible casters), but I do understand if you'd want to showcase other casters before going back to spunj and machine. I adore harry and hugo so would love something about them, and I'm really interested in henry and anders since their duo doesnt strike me as clear cut about color/play by play as the 2 you've done so far
Please keep doing these even if the viewcount starts dropping off a bit. I'm sure the people who stick around are exactly the ones these videos are targeted at - future tier 1 casters who want to put your lessons to use.
Thank you for another amazing video, would love to see you breakdown some historic plays or if a standout play happens in the future, also side note make sure you dont make too many of these videos, so that the impact of these videos is not lost. thank uou very much.
Loving these. Could you play the full clip before you begin your analysis though? Having the full context would be helpful going into your deep dive I think
If you’re taking requests for specific rounds I’d love to hear a cast breakdown of the first round of the Cologne 2015 grand final, which imo is still one of the best moments CS esports has ever produced.
@@ddkesports I enjoy longer form content most of the time, I definitely think breaking down an entire match would be far too long but I would enjoy you breaking down multiple rounds from a match, the insight on casting is intriguing

Love these breakdowns. Hope to see you casting in cs again!

I actually did this one in the past! It's on the channel. I will redo it though, too, if you want to wait for that.

Thank you for the kind words, it's very much appreciated! Best of luck in your journey in this awesome discipline.
I will always remember your incredible 2018 boston performance, what a legend you are bro🙏🏻
"They make it work, C9 ARE YOU ELEAGUE MAJOR CHAMPIONS!"
Helps that scrawny is a bonafide rap god as well
These reviews are christmas presents given early. Keep it up man!
I absolutely love this style of video, I need to go back and watch the last one too. Really great stuff man
Great, in-depth analysis. I really enjoy the way you go into the intricacies of casting, which is a major aspect of CS as entertainment.
Wow I didn’t expect that today. Thank you so much. It’s so exciting to dive into the things you don’t really notice at first hand

That tempo stuff at the end you talked about also works well with Launders putting his little bits and pieces in between.

These breakdowns are so awesome, im actually looking forward to the nezt event ao i can listen out for stuff you explain 😅
Great video once more, scrawny reminds me of listening to rap music with word choices, he uses alliterations and repetitions to get in a great flow
Would appreciate if you moved your cam just a lil bit down so it doesn't obscure the minimap. Love these breakdowns, keep it up cuh 😘

Will check it out. Would be awesome to do as many iconic moments as possible so will try to get to that!
Duos are great but I really enjoyed the Anders, Semmler and Moses triple cast.
hell yeah more casters review
The major thing this video revealed to me is how far ahead Machine and SPUNJ are of other casters. In a league of their own.
Its because they are the fucking goats (Great video I just love them to death)
I like these videos good work. Please move the webcam down a little bit so we can follow on the minimap
Will fix for the next one!
Loved the last video and was just hoping you you’d do scrawny and launders

please breakdown your casting for the coldzera play !
maybe you can bring some of your colleagues to do the review together and how they remember the round
Thank you this is cool, but if you’re talking about the mini map and it’s covered by the face cam, it’s harder to get the context
I'll make sure to fix this next time
@ thank you for considering!! Keep it up you’re awesome
IMO, their best casting moment was astralis(with lucky) vs heroic
Maybe you could show the whole clip without stopping at the beginning or after the analysis. Other than that, awesome insight!
How can I reach out to you for booking?

hope you get to work on some cs2 events in 2025 🙂🙂
Thanks. Me too!
My personal favorite caster duo. spunj and machine's accents don't appeal to me, unfortunately
