- So this week in Destiny 2, Bungie released The Final Shape which brought with it some NEW Exotic Class Items for Prismatic! They also released Exotic Class Item Ornaments which I do not recommend buying if you are pairing it with the new seasonal ornaments! Personally think Bungie should allow use to use our legendary ornaments on these exotic class items.
I know they are exotic, but these do not have a unique identity tied to their perks. So it wouldn't be bad in a pvp setting. What do you all think?

@@nomadasol8247 that's definitely why they did it, and also the reason they sell exotic weapon ornaments, even though in collections we can see the exotic weapons take shaders normally
Especially on the Hunters, in my opinion they look butt ugly, and I’m not a fan of making my Guardian(especially Hunter and Warlock) look way too majestic that shops on Balenciaga

You're absolutely right. Noone can even make the argument of pvp balance of knowing what exotics an enemy is running because players who care about that stuff will just inspect you anyway, notswap is active, and the exotic class items aren't that powerful on the pvp side of things to begin with because of how they did the perks. Honestly this is just bungie not letting us shader exotic guns all over again: the tech is in the game, we can see it, and it would hurt literally noone to let us do it

For sure cuz even if you see them wearing the cloak, you’ll still have no idea what exotic perks they have on, so seeing it isn’t very useful. This is also a problem with prismatic cuz now you can see their prismatic super but have no idea what abilities they’ll be running. Before you could tell from seeing an arc warlock that they’ll likely have the lightning surge aspect, which is important to know for PvP, but now you have no idea, and pretty much have to inspect everyone despite the trials screen that shows what they have because it’s pretty useless info in this case

Yeah that's the biggest bs from bungie. Who even figures out the exotic just my looking at the opponent in the match itself. For example I don't know if a titan is running peregrines until I get booted to the head and die instantly

@@mackncheese1683 Just the prime pack is $30 US. You get the Prime Frame (which has more than just a stat boost), both of it's signature weapons, and 2625 platinum to get double your money's worth. Please research before blasting misinformation.

Each role of these class items is different, so there is no telling who's using what in pvp. So, might as well allow transmog.

These class items are rough to look at. Sometimes, less is more. If they were more sleek, it would work, imo.
Idk I kinda like that they stand out, they are exotic after all.
I mean I'm sure there are niche ways to make them work with other armor pieces but imo the best ornaments are the ones that can work with anything.
I love how the cloak looks but I can understand hating how it takes over your entire fashion, you can't just slide it into a outfit (though that's never stopped anyone from slapping base liars into a all black outfit and calling it a day)
@@Tundra-Zero That's why the easiest exotic armors for fashion are the helmets/gloves which typically don't mess up fashion as opposed to chest and leg armor (minus warlock because sometimes the robes do look good like wings of sacred dawn and other times we have starfire protocol and vesper of radius)
@Lord_Chibi yeah, hunter helmets are especially easy because they're practically only faces, I can fit bakris into basically any look and that was extra true back when the eyes shaded
We’ve been locked to designing our fashion around exotics for the entire game, I think it’s time to be able to wear a full legendary set :/
in this case yeah, i can see why bungie like to make ornaments for exotic armor though, so they have their own unique identity, but these class items shouldn't apply to that

The Hunter ornament is something straight out of Stargate what the hell are you smoking? You can be a Goa'uld god in Destiny now. The best ornament, and I am tempted to play Hunter just for that fashion.
@@fulgerion they dont inherently look bad (except for the default titan mark that thing is an abomination) the issue is theres no armor in the game with the same aesthetic as the class items , the best you can do for the default is using the seasonal ornaments but its still a different aesthetic i promise , as far as the dark Egyptian themed ornaments theres even less to work with , best you can do is vow armor but yea it just doesn’t mesh well

They should bring back the speaker class items from destiny 1 and make them transmogs for these exotic class items.

If they want to make it clear you're wearing an Exotic class item they should give your character a permanent effect whilst you're wearing it, so you can transmog it. A circular or triangular halo would do the trick in my opinion, with a glow that changes to match the shader applied

I can't care about this due to Strongholds and Hazardous Propulsion. It's good to know about, but somehow I'm more excited about my new sword and missile rack than these bloated shower curtains with two half exotic perks.
Then again, Titans like me never really bother with the finer things in life. We're too busy breaking teeth and painting walls.

They should just have Ikora sell the class items the speaker used to sell in D1 as transmogs for each class, and new ones. For Strange coins or something. Maybe make Motes of Light drop more than just for Kvhostov and so getting enough to buy a class ornament is a big deal and feels significant.

Transmogging a class item absolutely would be an issue, because the fact that it's a dead giveaway for some bullshittery in the mixed exotic perks would be entirely covered up.
The ornaments also shade perfectly fine.
I have always thought we should be able to transmog exotics but because they want you to buy their ornaments, it’s not likely that they will. A solution could be that they allow you to buy the ability to transmog, in which case you could spend like 500 silver to then use transmog for that one exotic. Which then we’re happy to be able to transmog, and they’re happy to still get paid. Not the best, but it works out for both parties.
i think it’s dope if they add the function to equip the both exotic gear pieces as transmog from the both class exotic item perks.
I think the reason they don't allow us to do this is because that would open up a conversation about why not just letting us do it on other armor pieces as well.
Yea, I don’t wanna look like a titan or hunter with super flashy ornament, I just want a plain simple looking class item, I have a blue gear ornament on my hunter and a plain black titan mark for my titan.
I have 2 reason to not getting the exotic class item
1st is i dont like this activity has timer and require 2 people to do it
2nd is that i love memory of cayde warlock bond
imo , if you know vow symbols, it gets easy to complete. timer is not as bad as og exotic quests

Because if Bungie let us change the look of one exotic to any armor piece people will complain that they want the ability to change the looks of all other exotics.
Classic case of if you do it for one, you have to do it for all.
The base color of the ornament for the Hunter cape is really close to the base color of the Sun's Apex Hunter ornaments. Almost feels like it was intentional. Definitely improves my solar build fashion.
Also being able to have an all transmog'd look without an exotic piece mandatory would be a good change of pace.
My main problem with the hunter base cloak is this weird metal ring floating around the neck if you wear a helmet that removes the hood. Why is it only 1 cloak in the game that has the hood up, actually keeps the hood but puts it down when wearing one of these helmets

I’m going to just say it. In my opinion virtually all the armour designs lately have been bad. I don’t know who’s telling the artists this stuff looks good. It reeks of “don’t criticise that person because they’re easily triggered” culture…
We should be able to transmog legendaries to have exotic ornaments too imo and possibly even exotics transmoging to exotics I've wanted this for years now

In this case I feel like we should just have like an aura around the item and then let us transmog as usual if they’re so afraid we won’t know someone is using this exotic item. Some kind of glow or aura around the class item that could be made unique would be fine and people would be able to easily recognize it. They just want our money and there’s no denying it.

There was someone in the Bungie feedback forums recently (2-3 days ago) saying that why can't we use our paid and old armor ornaments on Exotic armor, I really hope that post gets a lot of support!?
I am absolutely praying we can transmog these class items, i need to be able to wear my Cayde/ andal brask cloak.
My Hunter's look has gradually evolved from what started out as an edgy Dredgen look, but through the gradual refinement, I have always worn the Skerren Corvus cloak. I've worn it since Forsaken, I think.
Now everything has to change.

No offense to the artist but the exotic cloaks are ugly AF. Please let us transmog them. Fashion is the true end game. This makes me not want to use Prismatic at all.
i don't think they did a bad job, they are actually really well detailed, it's just with the armor in the game, and what people usually look for with cloak, this just doesn't align

Totally agree. Class items should have full transmog capabilities. They looks like ass even with the ornaments.
At this point I wish it was just like WoW or Diablo where you can transmog any item to any other item, exotics included. Turn the feature off for PvP, or have separate PvP load outs with the feature disabled if it’s that big of a deal. At the very least, let us do the opposite and transmog exotics into legendaries.

Fully agree with transmog, imo the hunter cloak is horrendous to look at. Personally I like my guardians who fight in a war to look more... ready for war? I don't understand this increase in elegant design with a lot of the gear I'm fighting in a battlefield not heading to a ball.
I feel like they should make the cloak not only let us transmog into other cloaks, but allow us to transmog an exotic armor piece when this is equipped

Im skipping the class item entirely, cant wear another exotic with them so outside of a few very mid builds, there isn't a point of using them over a standard exotic.

but the thing is they arent mid builds , its gonna be some of the best builds you can make in the game , you’re gonna be at a disadvantage if youre not using it in most cases , and they look absolutely hideous and match with nothing , fashion is ruined now

I like the warlock bond ornament. One of my favorite bonds cosmetically and functionally. I’ve bought bond ornaments in the past. Probably will again one day; especially if they release other options.
Waiting for Solipsism's to enter Bright Dust and really would be the only one i get simply because it would look ok with the Pyramidal style of the bond plus adding Dyed Finality to give it the full Pyramidal look.
I kind of like the ornament for hunter but we should have legendary ornaments available for these.

@@Krypz I don't. I just don't agree. Yeah, tha shader offset might upset some but for me it's the shape. I like the ornament more than the base version for hunter. No flower budding on the back of the head.
I can understand why people dont like the class item looks, but why would we think the class items will be transmogged with legendary armors when other exotics cant?
I 100% agree on the transmog for the class items, now every hunter gets two cloaks to pick from lol and warlocks should get a full arm ornament for there bond
Part of me hopes these exotics get another ornament. For me, real flashy look for the Hunter’s cloak is a challenge to match with other pieces of armor for style. Maybe an ornament for the Hunter exotic that looks like the Frumius cloak? But a little more elegant? Idk, as a Hunter main, I’m a bit of a stickler for fashion.
Normally im not the fancy shmancy type of Hunter, but that Ornament does actually speak to me, which is why I'll probably make some sort of caped Wizard-y Hunter.

it's an exotic armor, we know they come with ornaments. don't act surprised or blame "bungie greed" when this is the precedent. they can't just open the floodgates or people will start demanding more and more "let me transmog over my exotic armor" is the next step, then exotic weapons demanded, and on and on it goes. work around your fashion with it like everyone else does. and the ornament works well with the chromacloak despite your claims
Fashionwise D1 Exotic Class Items > D2 Versions. I expected transmog for them, hope they add it at a later date + maybe more exotic combinations.

I was thinking the Same from the First moment. In d1 with taken King we got also exotic class Items but they looked beautiful, this ones are chunky, big and to much Ästhetik then useful besides perks.

i've always thought that we should be able to use regular ornaments for exotic gear...how can Bungie justify selling a whole set of gear ornaments or having a whole set of gear that we can earn but we can never fully equip it?
They should have allowed us to use legendary ornaments on exotics a year back or more. They can still make money off legendary ornaments because maybe that ornaments goes with what they want, or whales will be whales or whatever. Not just for class items but all gear in general, the game is on its last leg, Black/black color shader release always means that Bungie is moving on, so they made their money and will continue to do so, so allow players to enjoy the emersion more while the game dies for good. Or at least allow us to hide class items like the hide helmet feature, thats would be an easy fix for Bungie and they have no excuse not to do it other than money.
they actually look good in my opinion with the shaders that i use so honestly it all depends on the person so im buying it

They shouldve just brought back the exotic class item options we had in d1, like the faction ones. More variety than what we got smh

I’ve honestly lost interest in getting it on my hunter or Titan because of this.

I hate the Titan mark so much that I just can't use it. It looks awful in general but it also doesn't go with any set I currently have in my possession. I have the "god roll's" and I still just can't do it, either the base or with the ornament.
I just. personally struggle to make a look work wit hthe new exotic class items. there are a few but not that i particularly like. so I agree that we should be able to use any ornament on them.
its crazy cuz i run a cosmetic build wher ei can have no cloak no head peice nothing lmao it looks kinda cool just a soldier type character
i run rat king helm ornament with that golden bowl peice ornament on my cloak where its not a cloak more of a helmet add on but if you pair it with something like the rat king where the hood doesnt go over it it simply doesnt generate on your character making it appear as nothing at all its pretty cool so i mean not much to do w that knowledge nor could i rlly have input lol but it would still show the back end of the cape for me just not the hood likem Batman
I'll never even get these exotics cause I don't have a homie to run the mission with. Assassin's cowl goes hard with everything though so I'm chillin 😎
