I lived in Germany in the 80's and 90's and didnt realize I missed so many shows and movies. So glad this is on RUclips.
You must have seen Lexx though, right?
I was in L.A. Calf. , and I didn't see this till now ! In '' The Twilight Zone '' ?👽
Do you love it 🙄
I lived there when I was a boy of 7 for 1 year I learnt fluent German from oma I was a bad kid over there don't know why (I was born 77)
I watched the new twilight zone in Germany in the late 80s. They had it on RTL plus from 1987. But that was new cable TV at the time...
The Kennedy episode is one of the most awesome pieces of time travel fiction, it's magic
Omg are you really say that this mis based on a true story!? I think this scientistic achievement is more amazing than the moon landing and that was fake and this time travel is real
Who says it's fiction they always show the truth that way and call it fiction 😏
@@margueritemarchal5433 🤔Who are they? I'd like to know more... Racontez-moi, svp
@@thomasw.5344 come on you're grown I'm sure you know who I'm talking about if not they're the people who hide the truth from the masses and got us like chickens with our heads cut off.
this is better hard science fiction and better drama than 90% of all 2024 television.
99% i think.
It's a reality show
People still watch television?
Sounds like you love it 🙄
Sci-fi became Dei-fi.
This is one of the coolest intros to any show ever.
The intro for the Outer Limits used to scare me as much as the show.
One of them
Arthur C. Clarke's Mysterious World intro still gives me goosebumps
The guy who plays Kennedy doesn't look like him but plays him wonderfully!
I personally like the short story, The Last Question.
He's Garak from DS9.
@@trollking99oh my goodness 😮
The same guy who played the nutcase in Dirty Harry.
I knew instantly.@@trollking99
For me, at 75, it was good to see Martin Balsam again. He was one of my favorite character actors from the '50s onward.
Yes, he was great in 12 Angry Men
@@Allen-eq5uf You beat me to it.
@@Allen-eq5uf Though i knew him yeah that was a great movie,he was the head juror
Spoiler alert, re: Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho --
In a movie filled with some very scary moments, I still get chills thinking of how he tumbles backwards down the stairs in the Bates house when attacked by Norman
MB shined in 'AFTER THE FOX' along with Peter Sellars & Victor Mature
A big thanks for uploading the twilight zone. It's one of my all time favourites series
You didn’t know it was one if your all time favs back when it was on in the 80’s did ya
@@leonleon2276i did 😎👍
@leonleon2276 it's...very pale male and stale....Where's the diversity 😮
Now having turned 50 I did still enjoy this "Blast From The Past" very much! And these episodes did not air in Norway so I haven't seen them before.
I am so happy! *Thank You!*
With love from Norway
Me too!!! (50 and so glad to have stumbled on this again!)
Twilight zone was pretty darn good. Its pretty cool that nowadays we can watch as many episodes as we want. Back then there was more magic to it, yes, but it was torture to wait for more episodes 😂
I've recently turned 50 too. I'm guessing the '73' in enikan73 is the year of your birth.
@@WelshJASON42 3rd of December so I think I watched that the next day.
Usually I don't notice my age and don't think about it either.
Hi from Seattle, Viking. I used to live in Oslo as a child. Yeh, this is a terrific episode.
Wow, I can't believe I clicked on this. Voices of the Earth is an episode I've been searching for but could never find. I always thought it was from the 90s Outer Limits series. One of my favorite sci fi episodes from any series.
This series are like a hidden treasure that are still undiscovered. According to me; it should be assumed the premise of "Black Mirror" series. Each episodes are like a movie scenario and worth to watch it even today.
yep
How old are you? Do you know what the Twilight Zone is? There wouldn't BE a "Black Mirror" series if it hadn't been for the Twilight Zone.
@@KnifePhD73 agreed, Black Mirror modis operandi is based on what Twilight Zone and shows like Tales from the Crypt.
Tell your parent and grandparents how you *discovered* this "hidden treasure" of a series called The Twilight Zone.
I've always enjoyed how the Twilight zone would throw in those rare and happy episodes.

This was one of the first times I ever saw Andrew Robinson post-DIRTY-HARRY. Great actor.
I used to watch this series religiously every Saturday on CBS as an early teen. It's now after after a few decades can I grasp the profound essence of the episodes. It's also interesting to see Fritz Weaver reprise his role as a Jesuit priest from the mini-series "The Martian Chronicles". Thanks for posting. Nice one!
The man selling his memories to survive is pretty accurate of the current trends with social media. We’re all procuring other people’s experiences for a a price and there is no shortage of people willing to meet demand. Whether it’s living vicariously through their travel blogs, expensive cars and clothing and dining or paying them to take their clothes off to fill a lonely void in our life, ifs transactionally mutually beneficial.
We got what we deserve..for accepting what all the government have screw up over de years
@@fluffgirl1000 We don't deserve this. We have two chance, work and wait for the moment a revolution can happen or die. We can't do anything against it, the system became rigged hundred and ten years ago. How the hell we deserve this if it was already bad when we were born? Funny thing is those who control the world think exactly like you.
@@fluffgirl1000 Would you say the slaves deserved slavery?
It's not us that sells our memories it the Billionaires that have created that market. You can sell your things even the most precious things you can acummulate through out your life, but when it is the experience of love, or tears of joy, feelings of pure pride at one's own achievements or relationships with people who are not your own, those things have no price.
That is why Simon turned on the pawn broker, when his memories become sordid commodities for the deviants and perverted voyuers, he was sickened by it. The ending was icing on the cake, his act of rebellion and humanity, shows us that our lives and menories do matter for all of us. 😀
Great writing, good story telling at any length, is always good for tv, and that is the legacy of Rod Serling.
As a sci-fi writer Twilight Zone has spurred many a notion for a story.
Why they never continued this show onward is unbelievable. Thank you for uploading. I hope it inspires the right people, to make new series onward on this concept.
It's cancellation was influenced by time travelers who knew that it was getting closer and closer to predicting future occurrences.
The series was a pale imitation in terms of quality to the original show. I have the original series, but viewing this just for 5 minutes, it's too slowly paced, and it's predictable with far too much exposition. The fun of the original show if you got the opportunity to think, in the 80's version EVERYTHING is explained to you.
Thank you both for commenting. Can you link me to a start? And what is the original series called?@@fuzzywzhe
It was rebooted again in 2019 also.
It actually did continue... in the real world
28:12 Tim Russ! aka Tuvok from Star Trek: Voyager. Awesome. Almost didn't recognize him; he looks super young here, but he still has that distinctive voice.
also Mr. Belding from saved by the bell
That's Jenny Agutter in that episode. Every fanboy in the 80's (including my uncles) grouped her with Rebecca De Mornay back then.
Good eye! He would be about 27 here.
What's interesting is that two actors who had roles in two different Star Trek series were in this Twilight Zone episodes. Tim Russ as Tuvok from Voyager and the actor who played JFK played Garek on Deep Space Nine. It's good to see that they went on to other shows.
@@noahellis3672 Terry Farrell who played Dax in DS9, also had one episode of TZ in the 80's. She was the one trapped in the mall.

I like the one where the kid gets his comeuppance for being a little smart@$$.
This was marvelous! some of the very best, most moving, of the episodes. Many thanks for posting this.
For me, the mind of Simon Foster was one of the most intriguing episodes.
This 1980s version has some excellent episodes - a real Twilight Zone series!
Sounds like you love it 🙄
I feel sorry for the tv watchers of today. I grew up watching great shows like this and others, while today are brought up watching so called reality shows and judging shows. I was born at the right time.
Oh, how time has changed the world, hasn't it? Makes me understand the way old people loved to remember their own old time, which came across as a bit silly when I was a child. But now, I'm like them, only, we got way much more personal media to re-watch it all.
@ca tweazle57377 i agree! we had great tv programming back then
Who are you to tell what is good for the others? In your time in Stone Age maybe it was prestigious to have a television, no the time has changed. Now there are other modern things.
I feel sorry for you not having any reality shows in your vintage era.

The Star is my favorite Clarke short story. I've read it many times. They really did it justice here.

The original 50s version was actually faster paced.
Original ran 1959 - 64
Good to see Tim Russ playing a futuristic space explorer years before his Tuvoc days.
Thank you for these episodes. I haven't seen them since I was a kid.
What a great and talented JFK actor!! Great job!!
Andy Robinson.
Watch him play the serial killer in Dirty Harry.
Tuvok hasn't aged a day! 😅
Too bad we dont have acting or writing this stimulating today. I mean we have some pretty decent stuff but IN GENERAL, it all took a dive along with music and many other things in the 2000s
His name is Andy Robinson. A terrific actor.
JFK is played by the Scorpio Killer actor in Dirty Harry.
And he was in Hellraiser movie
Plus also some obscure outer space TV show where he played some kind of tailor on a space station. He may have been a spy for his planet's Nazi like goverment but it was unclear. I think also if my memory serves me he struck up some sort of friendship with a doctor that he seemed to have onesided ambiguous romantic affections for.
And Mark Hamil's voice was " The Joker".
Ahh thank you so much for that
I was racking my brains trying to think of who the actor was who played President Kennedy!
I knew his face & could remember his smarmy slimeyness playing someone in a fillm but couldnt think which film!
Id have been thinking all night!
Many grateful thanks

JFK meets DIRTY HARRY, and is finally "assassinated", by a 357 Magnum, but that's a different Time Travel Show, a different Twilight Zone.....

Dirty Harry and cobra

Quite touching watching "The Star" now, here in December. Thank you.
Indeed, Shirley…indeed. 🎉
That story really blew me away when I read it as a kid.
I've never seen these episodes and really enjoyed them.
This is the best impersonation of JFK I have ever seen from any actor. Even his mannerisms and speech patterns are accurate.
That whole episode was terrific and very engaging and entertaining, and thought-provoking. Thoroughly enjoyable, now and in my childhood when they were black & white.
It's just a Boston accent. _I pahked my cah in Hahved yahd_
A wonderful collection of stories. Thank you very much! 💖💖💖
I love everything about "Profile in Silver", except the cinematography which is at times awful. Besides that, it absolutely stands out, I've watched it over and over the past days, and I discover adorable details every time. Thank you again for uploading
In the far future, pajamas are worn by the space force for uniforms. The progress of fashion is unstoppable.
The mind of Simon foster actor is instantly recognisable as Bruce weitz who played mick belker in hill st blues.
Brings back memories as a kid in the 1980s. My brothers and I would watch every single episode on CBS on Friday nights.
Same here. I love the 80s twilight zone
Love the twilight zone
Wow a walk down memory lane I forgot all about this series
To the content creator, huge thanks for posting this. Since a little kid I always loved these but don't recall seeing the 80s versions at all, even while alive in the 80s but maybe we didn't have the right channel or cable to watch it with. Or maybe it was beamed in with the gigantic sattelite dishes everyone had, but 80s Twilight Zone? I can't recall one episode.
Thanks for the Christmas gift, I have strong feeling I'm about to see a lot of famous people. In the opening I already know who the woman (Kate) is just by her voice alone.
Guy playing Kennedy at 10mins in is same guy from Hellraiser movie. Niiiiice. What a voice too, it's like Chief Wiggum but more like Kennedy.
Quality collection. Excellent.
The Star was always one of my favorites.
The Examination pulled off a great "fill-in the blanks" ending. You think you know what's going on and why he's tested, then boom....
What is terrifying is that you can see something like this actually happening. A tyrannical government would definitely want to limit the intelligence of it's citizens, making it unlikely that they would ever revolt.
It's called equity. Smarter people do better at almost anything, so being smarter is unfair. You can't make everyone smarter, but you can get rid of those who are smarter than everyone else.
I was expecting the opposite result. Extreme eugenics that only allows the top 1 %. But the ending was a "fun" twist on expectations.
“Fitzgerald” also played Nixon in “the final days” a good tv movie from a few years back.
Thank you very much for these - much appreciated
Jfk guy is totally Conan in his old timey voice, could NOT take him seriously 😆
It was a welcome relief for the laughs. Lol. I love this old childhood show.
lol
He's Andy Robinson who is known for playing The Scorpio Killer in Dirty Harry & Garek on DS9.
Like the blinking lights in control room.
Control rooms always have blinking lights. What would a control room BE without blinking lights?
the second episode paid homage to Lost in Space with the circuit boards and display panels in the spaceship resembling that in the Jupiter 2 spacecraft, while the spacesuits also looked close to those worn by the Jupiter 2 crew.
That sounds pretty damn good actually
One of the crew members is Tuvok.
How I would love to take an herbal bath in that tub, settle back, shut my eyes and enjoy the sound of the waterfall outside. Then after the bath, wrap myself in a fluffy bathrobe and enjoy a cup of hot tea. Thank you so much for this vid.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for posting this!!!
The episode “The Examination” is what the future will be like unless we stand up to this tyranny. “Brave New World.”
I remember at school in the 80s we had to do a project and a girl brought up that episode saying how in the future they’ll want to keep people stupid as they are easier to scare, separate, manipulate and control. Seems like she was right especially about separating people and putting them against each other

It's good to see some serious fiction- based good stuff
"Examination Day". I remember reading the short story on which this is based. Twilight Zone changed the ending of the short story and it SUCKED.
In the short story, the kid was High School age and was sent to an institution where everyone there seemingly just sat and played computer games to stay occupied in their exile from Society. He felt terrible about not fitting in with the rest of Society and failing the aptitude test that would tell him what occupation he would have for the rest of his life. He was bored with having to do these games instead. One day he expressed his concerns to a staff member, who gently corrected him and told him what was really going on. The aptitude test couldn't find a conventional occupation for him because he was ABOVE them all. He had actually been found to be among the HIGHEST echelons of intelligence and was REVERED, along with everyone else there. The young man asked, "Then why are we all here?"
The staff member told the young man that no one in the institution was "playing computer games". Someone had to WRITE THE PROGRAMS that tested the masses, those with much LESS intelligence than him.
THAT should have been the ending for this Twilight Zone episode! Dammit!
That ending doesn't hit as hard as the filmed ending...
I didn't get the ending if dicky excels on the test I don't know why they had to kill him.
@@hotpopcorncake Because the "government" in the story wants people who are less intelligent.
They are easier to control
@@hotpopcorncakeThe real-life equivalent is the modern Republican Party in America, who have been slashing education budgets at every turn.
Because they know an educated electorate tends to vote independent/Democrat

That's why the ending sucked. It didn't make any sense. And they didn't explain why it was bad to do well on a test.
Thanks for the upload
What a great episode!!
thanks you . amazing shows
Re: the time travel, those stories can always be corny, but this one was very well done. The JFK dialog was well written and gave it some realism. If they didn't rent out Dealey plaza, which must cost a lot, they sure did a great job recreating it. I almost wonder if the wide angle shots are from some other production. Excellent job by Garrick! His accent was pulled back enough to be believable, not laid on thick like most do it, so nice technique. That a great thing about these 80's anthology shows, it gave good TV actors more work.
He also played Garak on deep space nine star trek
Watched them all when I was a kid growing up love watching them now at 57 good times 😊
This is the best episode of this incarnation of "The Twilight Zone ".
Omg how many people in 80`s invested in CD collections because of the second fiction :D Working CD after 1000`s of years working even in a dusty player, that is what I call a science fiction :D
The one with "Dickie" the little boy might turn out to be more prophetic than I’m comfortable with... yikes!
For some odd reason an old Twilight Zone just crossed my mind called - "Obsolete Man" Anyone familiar with that one?

Yo both those episodes been in my mind lately lol
Don't worry, it'll be fine
This is pure evil!
Prophetic is exactly what I thought. Our governments, the WEF, WHO and so on, they don't want smart, inquisitive people, they want people who'll do what their told, take their "medicine" own nothing and "eat zee bugs" without question.
