All right for a day or two, but I bet you wouldn't say that if you had nothing else to play for years at a time. The bass notes of a full sized harpsichord are magically beautiful.
@@gerardvila4685 Amen, I don't even own a historical one(harpsichord), just a modern one from the 60s probably and it is still superior to this, but I would gladly own an ottavino for playing on the streets and things like these, they still have a use
In the details to the right of the video, you will note that the instrument is tuned to about a minor 7th above modern pitch, or an octave above A392. This explains why it sounds like G minor.
It's not up an octave - octave doesn't affect the reference frequency. 392 = G#4 when A4 = 440. It's transposed down half a step but up an octave. Their reference A is still the same - they still use a 440HZ note on the instrument. The math- depend on it - they didn't pull 391.995 out of their ass - they got it by starting at 440. This is a 440 modern tuning instrument.
Thank you for your kind comment. I used Bach's arrangement for organ (BWV 593) of Vivaldi's Concerto as the basis for my clavichord and harpsichord adaptation.
ВЕЛИКОЛЕПНО!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Великий И-С. Бах считал себя учеником Великого А. Вивальди Правда при жизни (да ещё на 200 лет были забыты) они были просто люди...
i love harpsichords, clavichords and virginals they sound so fruity and fresh i must learn to play on the keyboard so i can play this beatiful concerto
If I'm not mistaken, you can just use the organ arrangement as stated in the author's reply to another comment (BWV 593). Just play the manuals portion of the score.
Such a lovely arrangement! Is it available to the public, or just for your own personal use? I have a small harpsichord of my own, but I am not a good enough musician yet to arrange concertos into solo pieces!
Guess that the mini keys don't help you so much ..rather impossible , even if I have small hands....anyway , very nice sound and guess it's historically matching.
Who needs a harpsichord with such lovely little magic box!
I know it says this piece is in a minor, but imo this sounds great in the g minor tuning.
The ShyGuy it's just not tuned like modern instruments.

Little box of fun :)

Seing the jacks bar merrily jump along the music is great fun!😄

A=392 is my favourite baroque pitch, it makes me fall asleep because of the physical response I experience from the resonance.

391.955 is just G#4 when A is 440 HZ. Still 440 based tuning. @@Starritt_Piano
Played this over and over again. Wonderful version of the piece and very nice sounding Epinette ! Thank you so much for your interpretation :)

Бах похоже всё умел что касается музыки
I love how it's so tiny that the jack-rail is being shot upwards by the force of the jacks alone 😆
This is very similar to an ottavino I built years ago. This one here is a little bigger. Nice playing on this little instrument. Thanks for sharing.
What a beautiful instrument! Both visually and musically! Thanks for sharing!
Such a lovely little instrument with this beautiful sound! 🎵🎼🎹🎶

Where can I find the construction plans for this instrument???
Please click on the "(more info)" link in the box to the right of the video to read details about the instrument.
Vivaldi in Heaven: Thats my freakin Son right there
It's like you can tell which portions belong to bach and others to vivaldi
Where can I purchase one of these beauties ?
Contact the instrument maker Jack Peters at the URL above ("SHOW MORE" in the information field): it is still available for sale.
Thanks for the pointer! Just out of curiosity how much one like this cost ? Trying to brace myself lol
@@pansiesofficial7967 I can't say for sure: probably a few thousand. Jack will tell you!
where do you find all these great instruments?

Mr. Burns would be pleased.
do you have the score?
How much do harpsichords cost? I've always wanted one, but none of the websites selling them ever list any prices.
👍

Good ol Jack Peters-pity he retired.
He did not retire! He's still actively building instruments.

What does this have to do with Bach?
+nyhyl Bach transcribed the original Vivaldi concerto for organ.
Oh I see. Thanks for the reply!
+nyhyl I'm pretty sure Vivaldi wrote it for a quartet and then Bach transcribed it for an organ!
Yes.
Que instrumento é esse?
you have the scores???
I love u im priince von Dominic Gutierrez of Austria and spain my love i reside in California in Beverly hills
What is the instrument?
They need to make it without legs you can make it look like a suitcase then just open it up in your lap on the subway
I can't play that piece anywhere near that fast........gloom......
Spiffing!
Wow, this is tuned lower than even 415 hz. Sounds completely unnatural.
Tunings 400hz and below were quite common in the day. Bach wouldn't have likely preferred it that way, but so be it.
