I’ve never EVER seen such a perfect tutorial. Like I’ve searched websites and videos before but this was spot on and that’s insane to me. It made me smile and melt because now I can actually play the song and not a variation. Thank you so much! You’re amazing!
More tutorials need to be like this!!!. She doesn't rush through it or play super fast like a showoff. She actually takes the time to explain. I'm a seasoned player but I dont read music so im definitely a visual learner! I get the feeling a beginner could easily learn this. Great video!!!
What?! I struggle with fingerstyle but you made it so easy and you showed and explained so clearly. I actually stuck till the end and learnt the whole song. Forever grateful❤❤❤
Love the tutorial. One thing - comparing this to the version on the soundtrack, sounds like Noah is capo-ed on the 4th fret. Everything else is spot on!
The best part of this tutorial is that I can see your left and right hands and how your right hand fingerpicks. I had to simplify the chord shapes to do it but it is "simply the best" tutorial online for this song. Thank you....
I have watched thousands of guitar tutorials on RUclips over the years, and this one is "simply the best"! Very clear instructions and accurate to boot. Nicely done!
It's the perfect lesson ever!! The way you just taught with such ease and elegance and Oh my God your voice and playing is soooo melodious and clean .. I'll keep practicing till I can play like you❤❤
Thank you for this tutorial. I'm strictly a bass player and I was requested to play this at my cousins wedding. I'm very nervous in doing so but your tutorial gives me much confidence
This might me the best tutorial of any song I’ve seen on RUclips, no joke. Fantastic job and great voice/playing. 👍 Broke it all down perfectly and I’m looking forward to do my own subpar version. 👏🏼 thanks for posting!
Thanks for doing this as a tutorial specifically for this arrangement. Guess you figured all the softies would come looking for tutorials online lol! Your hands and instruction are very clear, and you have a beautiful voice! Thanks to this I'm totally going to have a nice surprise for my husband come valentines day. THANK YOU!! You've got a knack for this ;)
Wow this was incredible - I've been trying to figure it out from the video without even thinking to look it up then this wonderful tutorial can along. Thank you so much!
I never leave comments on videos but I have to now... Your tutorial is awesome, your playing is so smooth and you have a voice of an angel. Keep up the good work!
Wow!. never have i ever once in the years i’ve been using youtube for tutorials, wanted to hear the person doing the tutorial perform it… i usually just get on here to learn, until now that is. After hearing your opening notes and voice, i didn’t even care about the tutorial. Beautiful voice, and great job with the picking. Thank you!
Beautiful tutorial - your voice is awesome too. Learning this to play for my wife but I practice at home so she’s probably already sick of hearing me haha
Great tutorial, thank you! It would be great if you could do the full song start to finish close up like this video so can play along and practice the whole song. Tanks again.
this is great! thanks so much! i'm curious why we put our fingers in positions when we're not even playing the note though (like that Em... when we're not playing the A and D strings. Is that because it's easier to move to "remembered" positions? Either way, thanks so much for making this.
Like so many of the comments - incredible tutorial Hannah. Laid out so simply (I consider myself an exceptionally average player) but after watching several times, I can hear the song (others probably couldn't) as i play. Some of the questions below - I was also wondering about - timing for some of the chords (I think the entry is 3 or so measures?) and why in places you use the chord shapes you do (like the Em - when you don't string either string) Your singing of this song is so wonderful and heartfelt - gives me the same kind of glowy feelings from Noah Reid's version Again - very well done
Hi there! Thanks for your question. The reason I form the whole chord even if I’m not directly plucking those strings is because I enjoy using a lot of dynamics when I perform, and when I'm building a certain part of the song I'll often start plucking the strings more aggressively and intentionally include other strings to create more sound. If I don’t have the correct fingerings pressed down when I do this, those open strings will sound the wrong notes and muddy up the sound instead of making it more full. I do this especially at the moment I switch to the e minor chord. You can see an example of this in my other video where I perform this song. The full sound that you’re hearing when I switch to that e minor chord is from the other notes in the chord sounding that I’m not directly plucking but still causing to resonate. Absolutely amazing tutorial. You should really make more tutorials for songs. Your voice and how you explain how to play are wonderful. The only thing you are missing is the song count, I'm fairly new to guitar, and I'm having a problem figuring out the count for each cord. Could you tell me how many bars per cord. Thank you

Thank for this tutorial and your beautiful voice to accompany the lesson!
Love the tutorial. One thing - comparing this to the version on the soundtrack, sounds like Noah is capo-ed on the 4th fret. Everything else is spot on!
she's shifted up a semitone to suit her female voice. Higher singers may wish to capo it up further
