My copy of the CD arrived today. War of the Worlds has been a favorite since childhood, and it's beyond exciting to hear the wonderful score presented correctly and in such great quality.
"I looked again at the cylinder, and ungovernable terror gripped me." To everyone left thinking that La-La Land Records has indeed made an Edison phonograph record-a wax cylinder-rather than a Compact Disc (CD), it’s a Compact Disc.
I feel like modern movie studios try far too hard to reinvent the wheel while not doing anything particularly different, I'd like to see how a movie filmed and scored in the 50s style would appeal to movie goers, could be a breath of fresh air while also relying on the nostalgia factor Hollywood loves so much
Wonderfully articulated and researched lecture. Love the man's collaborations with Pal.
Thank you so much for watching!

That’s a neat idea! Going for an authentic 1950s look and feel, including the music. The Atomic Age makes a great backdrop. Thank you for watching!
Did I hear actual Leith outtakes here and there in here?

Hi David! Yes, from the unrestored When Worlds Collide acetates.
Oh, fun!
So this is what it's like when the war of the worlds collide...
