It's just great when we see these open, sharing and warm spirit between different schools, peoples and countris !!! Greetings from a Goju-Ryu practitioner in Portugal.
Kung fu is the fore-father of karate. The Okinawa te masters learned it when they went to China mainland and developing it as Te in Okinawa later it transfoms into modern karate.
All this guys are in the incredible shape(Control of movement, precision, flexibility and bone density) ... They look very healthy... They are capable to destroy all this keyboard warriors without any emotions...
I love the Kung fu, it’s so much more my kind of art, my opinion....but I have to say forty years ago they didn’t get along, nice to see they are getting along and training together..
Okinawan karate is the Godfather of MMA. During feudal Japan Okinawa was a hub for many forms of combat. Influenced heavily by Chinese fighting as well as forms from mainland Japan. The Okinawan's were not interested in sport fighting, rather their sole purpose was real combat. Hence many techniques in Shorin Ryu are not in sport karate styles such as the use of strikes to the eyes and groin, strikes with elbows and knees, etc. Lastly, Shorin Ryu is as effective today as it was all those hundreds of years ago.
Not at all looks the same. But several budoforms, karate and especially types of jiujitsu and ninjutsu has inlfuences of chintzen material arts, e.g. through the monk Kain Doshi.
Karate looks crude compared to Kung fu, but like they always say it's the practitioner not the system . If I have to study everyday I choose Kung fu, looks much better 😆
More like Karate is incomplete in its knowledge of Kung Fu. The straight-forward crudeness are essence of the old Ryukyu arts. Bone-on-bone strikes, straight-forward blows, and very outward expression of power
its becus these are forms to prepare you to be more efficient when you have to act and dont just throw punches like an idiot and hope for the best. brains, you need them.
Yeah you can, you're just too stupid to apply it. Traditional martial arts aren't about face value, it was about endless possibility by combining simple concepts. It requires you to develop your own martial arts rather than learn some coach's and makes you think more about the training you do. So yes it works, if you care enough to stop complaining about the way it looks or the form demo, and just try to use it.
@huy, I think you're confusing nerdy with slick. In fact, I'm sure if you walked out with a Karate gi with an exaggerated kiai and still getting beaten, people will DEFINITELY think you're a nerd. Now doing Kung Fu in a suit and beating them with minimal effort? That'll get all the ladies throwing themselves at you!
@Dinzel You kidding me? This guy's one of the premier teachers in the world, better than most Chinese masters. He trains police officers, bodyguards, and top-level martial artists from all styles! And he does have a background in Shorin-Ryu Karate and full-contact Karate
Peaceful exchange of ideas is always beneficial.

Beautiful, China and Japan together!
okinawan and southern chinese kung fu are similar
That James Bond villain was ruthless. Don't want to mess with him...
He has a degree in King Fu quite literally.
Marvellous, i wonder if he can wrestle lol!

宮平保先生の動きはまるで水の流れのように滞ることがない印象。スーツ姿ですと一瞬、野口五郎さんを彷彿させられる。
lo que mas me gusto fue ver a ambos maestros y sus alumnos en un mismo dojo

I’m the 1k like on this video
Seems to be some chi na and tai chi or water boxning, but it is difficult to be sure what sort of kung fu since there are so many.
Was that a taiji karate fusion? Looks impressive. And it’s Japanese man practising it
天行健中国武術館の道場は横浜にありますか?

Karate jiu-jitsu are derived from kung fu.

宮平保先生は特殊ですね
The Okinawan traditional Karate demo if you change their uniforms to shaolin monks it looks exactly like shaolin kung fu.
Indeed Okinawan Karate is a son of Shaolin Quan; compared to Japanese Karate, it's much more like the parental Shaolin (Shorin).
volikoto stiffer though
oh wow, yes!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah, except maybe it looks nothing like it
Not at all looks the same. But several budoforms, karate and especially types of jiujitsu and ninjutsu has inlfuences of chintzen material arts, e.g. through the monk Kain Doshi.
why the Kung Fu group did not take off their shoes in the dojo ?
3:15 nice speed but you can see he don't have force control with his student :/
Dorado Lucky Dragon he could have done it faster than what he did but he was demonstrating to the audience
King Fu seems do much more vicious
Karate is more direct
Kakie ri was never part of Goju-ryu. That was Morio Higaonna's idea.
Anybody who comes to a dojo in a black suit with a turtle neck that looks like Mick Jagger in the 60ths got to be a bad mf.
Okinawan Goju-ryu is what I am. I know that it is the best out here.
A karate punch is like a iron bar but a kung fu punch is like a iron chain attached to the end and it goes wang and hurt inside.
-Bruce Lee
The origin of all martial arts is shaolin, if I am not wrong,.
It should be the origin of most Chinese martial arts is Shaolin.
i think that kung fu is white crane

I think you may be watching the wrong video or maybe looked away during the karate parts lol

Bobby Love they’re family no rivalry
How strange that Kyokushin school is trying to do Goju Ryu Kata Sepai. They do not have kata.
Okinawa should be written as 琉球.
what a bullshit. You cannot fight in the streets like this. Neither in the competitions
its becus these are forms to prepare you to be more efficient when you have to act and dont just throw punches like an idiot and hope for the best. brains, you need them.
There's more to life than street fighting. Any of these masters would take your head of and hand it to you should you disagree.
ahahahahahahahah. AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

GokuInfintysaiyan I have tried and it does not work. You should try honestly and see by yourself what really happens
look how nerdy kug fu practitioner look compare to karateka
I don't really think they were a great school that guy doing the bajiquan his form wasn't that good it lacked form, flow, and power.
nerdy? tell that to hung gar or choy lee fut guys and they will knock you out.
