And Xrd has the camera flail around in a way that makes it hard to read. It was always a very simple move concept made so horrendously overcomplicated. Strive just made the motions clean, simple and easy to read, while adding a lot of theatrics to it. 10/10 super.
The one from STRIVE is the best one by far. Not because of the animations but because it also makes sense compared to the other ones. He actually uses the rockets from his gauntlets to rise above the skies and fall on the breaker.

Fun Fact, the "Flaming hands" thing was just an animation trick to cover up how awkward it is to show one sprite grabbing another sprite and not looking awful or just not actually grabbing anything at all.

Xrd kinda forgot what made HPB so cool. Adding the jetpacks drew less attention to the suave backflip he did and instead made it look like he was meant to go higher but there was a malfunction. Strive got rid of the backflip, but I think the jetpacks taking him into the stratosphere makes up for it.

I'm picturing Pot doing the flip while the rockets come out, and they fire just as he's righting himself; so they kind of catch him just as he's starting to fall. I can just picture the exhaust ribbons forming loops in the air in front of him as he finishes the roll, before being caught and thrown into the sky by the thrust, as if he were loaded into an oversized slingshot. Not that I'm knocking what we got, of course. Just a thought...
A derail I like in Strive is that there’s a moment where it feels like zerp gravity for the target. Makes you feel as if Potemkin isn’t some sort of strong guy, he is a machine.
I'm not a good player of Guilty Gear, playing just a few times... But downloaded Strive just to see that masterpiece getting the deserved love of the fans.
