I got these peel & stick planks for an apartment I'm renting. I was was concerned about removing them, but this looks doable- I think I'll install them. Thank you!
💥 You should have laid the floor originally with the seams in random spots and staggered and not in that obvious row like you did here. Just like real oak wood strips are installed. Thanks for the video.
Thank you for this video. It’s what I needed! I’ve got Pop tiles in my bathroom and a few have come up at the corners or slowing shifted. I have to replace a few but noticed that some of the glue has stuck to the ceramic tiles. Figured it wouldn’t be so easy as to just replace the tile. Got to put some elbow grease in before replacing new ones 😩 Couldn’t find a video that could help until I found yours🙌🏽💛
Thanks for the video, Im in a rental and would like to upgrade my entrance floor and kitchen. I wanted to make sure I could take it off when I move. Your video definitely helped to answer that question.😊🇨🇦👍
Good video. If you're renting, good quality peel-and-stick vinyl tiles/planks can look pretty good for 1-3 years if you mop up all wet spills quickly. Then they start to gap between tiles like yours did, and if you have kids/dogs tracking dirt in, the corners start to lift up. You're right, it removes pretty easily, whereas glued-down sheet vinyl is an abosolute bear to remove (worth it to hire someone for that). Peel-and-stick tile floors may survive for years in a bathroom, still looking nice. But they're not good for a home owner in high traffic area like a kitchen. Better to go with LVP or sheet vinyl (good for about 10 years) anywhere that sees a lot of activity.
I will move at the end of the month. And my new appartment has these really ugly floortiles in half of the Appartment. But the appartment was so nice, big and has a decent rent so i couldn't say no after months of searching xx. And i was thinking about using Vinyl floors for the kitchen but was so scared, what if i ruin the tiles underneed, or i can't get them off. But this gave me confidence :)
No. A staggered pattern means a few things, 1. You don't see the seams like a butt joint, 2, it keeps the tiles locked down in place better. But really the reason is to make it look real.
Did you do multiple coats of gone goo? I sprayed my flooring once, waited 20 min, then tried to scrub it with a mop only for the floor to still be really stuck. Just did a second layer of gone goo but not sure how many times I need to do this :/
Sooo, I have a home that had peel and stick installed years ago, likely during the early 90s/late 80s. The adhesive used back then isn't even close to this. If *only* it was this easy to pull up. I've got a tile chisel and a hammer, but even so, I'll probably have to use a belt sander to even everything out when I'm done
@@Ellerudd1989 Ehm, honestly, no, but, it's a big square razor type blade on the end of a 2' ish pole. I did search home depot for flooring scraper and came up with a lot of options (though not the one I purchased) for between 20-50$ (Home depot is where I got it)
I am planning to get these peel and stick vynil flooring because hardwood is very expensive. I'm just wondering why are you removing them? Are you not content with it?
Just had to remove mine after a cpl years. Had to use a heat gun. Used adhesive remover from home Depot but it didn't work. Gonna see if goo gone does the trick.
I need your advise, I'm renting a house with ugly marble floors on kitchen, bathroom and half living room, do you think if I install the peel and stick floors the marble wont be damage with the glue? Or the glue remover you use can damage marble floors? I hate marble floors .. please help😭
I am not completely sure if it’ll damage marble floors. However I have heard of people using foam boards as a barrier underneath the peel and stick floors to be safe
Is Goof Off the same as what you used? MY friend did this with tiles in the kitchen as well. Hers is awful. I went out and got Goof Off today... We haven't used it yet. I hope it works. Anybody else use Goof Off? How did your turn out?
Same here so I ended up putting poster boards under the peel and stick and it’s just fine. So when I’m ready to peel them up it’ll all come up at once like a rug
I wonder how this would do on hardwood. We rent a house and we just had a baby but the hardwood floors need to be redone badly and cause splinters so once baby starts walking we can’t have him walking on the floors. Hopefully this works on hardwood too.
I strongly recommend not to go with vinyl planks if you have kids as this contains harmful chemicals and metals that can be carcinogenic. I removed vinyl and plan to go with hardwood or at least engineered hardwood. Thanks for your tip about goo gone.

Thank you for sharing !! Can’t wait to add peel and stick to my rental
Thank you 😊 just peeled up old sicky floors in my new condo... yay!! Tile under it is nice! Couldn't figure out how to get glue off ❤️
thank you so much! I was worried that if I buy snd install those floor vinyl adhesives that it might destroy the inner tiles. :) now going to buy some

Couple questions:
1. Did you use high traffic rated vinyl peel and stick?
2. Why didn't you stagger the joints with the VPS?
Just a mistake. We simply didn’t think to do so lol

Did you have issues with glue residue left over

Please use a staggered pattern next time
What's so special about it? It looks GREAT CHILE
I agree

Did the tiles you pulled up seem to have enough adhesive left on them to use again? I'm wondering if I could take these to my next apartment.
You probably could! Some pieces were stickier than others

Same here 🙄
Watching this to know if peel and stick is worth putting in my bathroom and if it will be an easy removal
Did you put it in youre bathroom? When yeah, how does it hold up? Does it witstand some humidity?
finally I found this video,im about searching how to remove it thank you so much for the video😭😭❤️
A good way for it to last longer is stager the cuts
Did you guys do a video on the new floor after pulling all that up?
You did such a great job with this!
The end joints should have been on a staggered pattern. :(
Just what i needed to know thank you 🥰
Thanks so much for sharing. What brand of tiles did you get. I’m having trouble finding a brand that isn’t saying add some sort of adhesive.
Hi. This video was very helpful. Do you remember where you purchased these peel n sticks at?

I believe I have ran into the same problem. Another video on here shows a tool that you can rent from home depot to get it up
@@Ellerudd1989 I eventually went with a big scraper. A lot less weight, and a lot more useful than a tile chisel lol

Use an iron and parchment paper to heat up the old adhesive and pop up easier

Hi! Awesome spray and magic eraser sponge works great too
You can you a hair dryer to help loosen
Ooh didn’t think about that!!
Are they reusable after removing
If you're not rough on them during the removal and use new adhesive, I can't see why not.
