- John McGuinness smashed the absolute lap record on the second lap of the PokerStars Senior TT today (Friday 12th June 2015) with a lap of 132.701mph.

Just smooth! Impossible to get an appreciation for all the g-force and rough road at that speed because he hit that so flawlessly smooth

Please bore off with the Guy Martin comments he hasn't won 1 and yes he did a 132 lap as a flyer mcguiness did it slowing for the pits and plenty of others did to. Sadly Guy will sooner or later have to admit he doesn't have the consistency to win 1

My comment has been read and taken totally the wrong way. Yes he did a 132 lap but over the 6 lap races he suffers after lap 4 as by his own admission he starts thinking about other things and this for me is what is stopping him from winning. These are facts and whilst I admit I'm not his biggest fan I would like to see him win 1 after he's put so much into it but I honestly believe it isn't going to happen. I should also add at no point did I claim I'm quick or could do what these boys do. I do track days and wish I could do what these boys do but I can't simple as that.

+zigi I actually met John at a camp site in Holland in 2013.I was the only one there who recognized him.Had the pleasure to talk to him for 45 minutes.The most humble guy there is.One of the highlights of my life.The biggest impression left on me was his answer to my question:"How many times have you crashed at the IOM?You are racing there since 1996, right?" and he said:"Never crashed and its not im my script either...".That shows you what huge ammount of talent that man has....riding for 2 decades on ungainly machines there, giving it 100% and never ever crash.I did 5 years of short curcuit racing and ended in hospital 4 times...see the difference???

what bike is he on?
+John J Padgett's Honda Fireblade CBR 1000RR in conjunction with Honda Racing Corporation. Lots of HRC World Super-bike parts I think for this TT open class machine. He has ridden Honda's for most of his career and the great majority of his TT victories have been on Honda's.The two that weren't Honda's was the singles race in year 2000 (AMD Chrysalis?) and a couple of TT zero races on electric bikes over the last few years. Someone may correct me on this as I'm relying on my dodgy memory.
It wasn't Padgetts Honda it was a factory Honda because there was some conflict of interest over an oil sponsor. Whilst Clive and John remain close friends he no longer rides for them
