Many of you man have seen Annie Wildmoser on this channel, showing off her Cane Corso.
Belgian Malinois are squarely built, proud, and alert herders standing 22 to 26 inches. Strong and well-muscled, but more elegant than bulky, there’s an honest, no-frills look about them, as befit dogs built to work hard for their feed. A breed hallmark is the proud carriage of the head. Coat colors range from a rich fawn to mahogany. The black ears and mask accentuate bright, questioning eyes the color of dark Belgian chocolate.
If you have ever seen a Mal perform an obedience routine, you know firsthand what a smart and eager breed this is. Problems set in, though, when this people-oriented dog is underemployed and neglected. Exercise, and plenty of it, preferably side by side with their adored owner, is key to Mal happiness. - Животные

I rescued a malionis mix, he with my other dogs tore my back door open to rescue me from a fire, I had no clue that I was about to die. Best dogs ever!!!

I had to change my back door knob because my malinois figured out how to open the door.. they're so smart..
@@zinov3 LOL my malinois learned how to open my door too
Dee Dee Winfrey wow, great story 👍🏻
@Noah Reed I'm dying here!!👏😂🤣😂!
@@zinov3 my malinois knows how to open our doors too. We did not learn her to do it, she just learned how to open it by herself. She is now 2 yrs old, very healthy, sweet and obedient dog. I do really love her and treat her like my own child 😊 ❤
Rescued one yesterday. She is quite skinny. In a few hours, she is already getting comfortable with our yard. We have a big one thankfully. I have an appointment with the vet for her today. I hope she is not seriously sick. I rescued her from where she was kept in a very bad condition. Wish us luck please.

I'm seriously hoping this breed will not get messed up by the future because of shows and all that
Zoe T. They most likely will. Which is why if I were to get a dog such as this, I’m going to get it imported from Europe.
Zoe T. The divide between working and show Mal breeders is pretty solid, so it shouldn't be as much of an issue as in, say, German Shepherds. At least when it comes to US breeders I feel like there are more working breeders vs show/pet breeders, and they don't tend to stray from what they're specifically breeding for (high drive and intensity vs looks and temperament)
I'm more concerned with backyard breeders.
Backyard breeders can't afford the stock to begin with. True Mal people would know immediately
Keep this marvelous breed away from the AKC would be the best advice.
Just lost my Mali mix. She was 90% business and highly driven to protect and herd. Didn’t know what to expect with such a headstrong dog, but she was wicked smart, full of energy and such a lover. She made a great pet and companion, but also thrived as a semi wild dog as I am a hemp farmer by trade, so she had lots of time outside with me and chasing wildlife. I’m hooked on dogs with these attributes for life now. Loyal and loving as it gets, but independent and protective, almost to a fault.
akc tripping. your dog is beautiful
Akc ain’t got nothing on a good bred knpv Malinois.
The best Malinois in my opinion are the knpv Malinois and that is only because they are mixed with a lot of other great dog breeds including Working German Shepherd, Dutchie, and even some Pitbull and great dane believe it or not.
Rescued a Mal from the shelter a couple months ago. This is now the only breed I want, best dog ever.
mine died a month ago and cant see myself ever owning another breed
Perfect dog for athletic people. Running and doing workout with mine is a pleasure. And it force you to reveal your leadership. Good way to improve self confidence and esteem.
I prefer the darker coat. I can’t get enough of mal vids.
Me to I love them
I like both of the coats :p

I have a malinois mix dog and she is the best. She was clearly abused or something else in the past, but shes such a nice, intellegent and workholic girl. I love her so much!
I have a 8 month old F. Belgian Malinios, AKC registered puppy also! She is at 22" tall to the shoulder. She is 45 lbs so on the smaller side of the breed. She is such a wonderful part of my family. I bought her to be my PTSD "Anxiety" Service Dog. She is in training for that. As a US Armed Forces Veteran Retired I just knew that she was the breed that I wanted to get. She keeps an eye on me as she knows me as I know her. She like it says on this clip a lot of work, training, but as she gets older I feel she will be with me 24/7/365. More and more US Armed Forces Veterans are getting the breed for Service Dogs. It is a breed that we know will be a great service dog, but also for "personal & family protection!" If needed. Very smart breed just have to work with them a lot! But so glad she is in my household now. Fur is short for all sorts of weather especially the summer gets so hot. Sheds 1-2 a year so brushing her every couple of weeks. Balls, toys, even rags is her favorite to play with.
Timothy Casey There is a great difference between having a service dog and a dog that protects your family if needed. They need very different temperament... a service dog should under no circumstances try to “protect” you. It should never bite people and should be safe for the public even in extreme circumstances of stress. A service dog should remain calm under pressure and perform the tasks it was trained to perform. I think it is very important to understand and respect the different strengths and weeknesses of dogs. It is not recommended at all to train your SD for protection and a dog that has been trained for protection may be considered a weapon and can be denied access which other SD’s otherwise have access to.
If you ever find who hurt your dog? Send em to the Dogfather Of Chiraq. Outside of animals, he is the meanest man ever. HBO Is doing a dog rescue starring him in 2024.
This has been my favorite breed for many years. I first had one when I was about 14 and he was my best friend and was in herding. I now have a 4 year old boy who was a rescue and there’s so many in rescues now due to the movie Max. Some still have a purebred paperwork from their previous owners but not often cause breeders often take them back. Even though you can get Mals from breeders with guaranteed health I would suggest rescue. There’s been a huge spike in Malinois in rescue because of Max people think they can get that dog for their kids.
Great video... I own a Mal and have owned three plus I'm former law enforcement.
Mal's are a great pet for EXPERIENCED owners.
Play with them, have fun with them, enjoy them and be a great leader for them. (Again, EXPERIENCED owners only).
Yes, they are working dogs but people get the misconception that in the police department we have something for them to do all day... we do not. Mostly they ride in the back of the car with us or play with a toy in my office. They are very intelligent and adapt to what you want them to do. When I leave them at home I tell them to guard the house and they do. When I take them outside the house I always say let's go on a mission... and they love it. The first year and a half you want to really play with them and they are very smart and will try you, but if you're a good intelligent leader they fall in line. They are so smart that they know if they are dealing with a dumb owner.... trust me and they will act accordingly.
To those who can lead, are intelligent and love them... they are the best. For those who aren't that bright and not that experienced with pets.... you've been warned... they will punk you. Best dogs I ever owned... side note though.. some how, some time, some where they will accidentaly hurt you pretty bad. But, they have a unique sense of humor....
I agree with this lady about the Malinois as a pet. 💯 My 3 year old Mal is a family pet purchased from a breeder who helped us pick the dog for us. I fortunately work from home so he has several exercise sessions every day. You have to have the time if the animal will be a pet only.
During deployment we noticed the Malinois with the JSOC groups that passed through, it seemed insanely professional the dog breed, and again during Person of Interest i noticed that breed again and i loved the character Bear on the show that dog was awesome, they did go through 3 or 4 different dogs that played the character on the show and all of them graceful and full of energy.
It is however a extremely active dog and me with my disability i am unable to keep up with such a dog so i just enjoy watching videos with the dog breed and any dog breed to be honest.
Bear from person of interest was a german Shepard tho wasn't he?
I have had Mal's for over 25 years, my fear is everyone can feel like they can own one. Please stop saying how easy they are to own!
@Richard Jones BM are machines.. high powered extreme dogs that is not suited for everyone to have!.. thats what i heard from a breeder!
Richard Jones I met a man today who was walking with this dog. He told me it was a very hard dog to train and maintain. Once it's trained however, it's one of the friendliest dogs out there. Plus, he told me that these dogs can rip apart a German Shepard
@@rich-xf3sh what dog is it? the only dog i know that is really friendly is the labrador hehehe.. what is that do you mean?
@Richard Jones i think this dogs BM arent stranger friendly and i think maybe they arent good with visitors.. friendly fire could happen in any moment with this dogs! hehehe
Hard to own ! Lol not for everyone that’s for sure
Such beautiful dogs!
Yay, Annie is back
I like the way he looks up to you when he's walking beside you . He's definitely a very one very beautiful pup .
What a handsome boy! I love this channel and seeing and learning about all of the lovely dogs. Thank you for doing this!
A very good friend of mine, who works as a dog trainer, owns one and is the most fantastic, beautiful, awesome and incredible creature I've ever seen. You might think they're incredible just by watching videos of them - trust me, when you see first hand what they're capable of, your jaw drops right down to the floor. Athletic doesn't describe it. They're true superdogs.
I'll never own one myself - I'm far from being anywhere close to the level of activity this breed deserves... but it's my favorite breed by far.
Rescued a mal Shepard mix in October. He's almost 8 months now and 92lbs and 28 " at shoulder. He is still growing . He is one of the smartest dog s ever and a great family pet too. Tons of energy for sure. We love him and he us. What more can you ask.
Just got my Mail a day ago and already love him so much❤️❤️
It's so apparent he loves being with you and performing the tasks you ask. He couldn't be happier. Love your story! That be interested when you guys enter competition. I didn't know what you were talking about ,but it has to be the epic adventure. Keep us posted!
love all the belgian malinois content! Thank You!
thank you for the documentary!
They are EXCELLENT home and personal protection dogs. Fearless and ANY dog that approaches aggressively when your Malinois confronts it, will back away.
I love Mals but I don't agree that any dog that approaches it aggressively will back away. A working line German Shepherd I have seen dominate Mals no problem. There are also other breed that can dominate a Mal. Mal's excel at working with handlers, responsiveness, and drive
I wish I could have a dog like this. My best friend has one, and they are totally amazing. My cat, who's in fact a tiny Brittish grey hair, but a real badass, loves to play with that dog. He even watches her. When she goes too far, he takes her by the neck an carries her back.
Dogumentary TV just wanted to show y'all thanks for the great work y'all do. Impeccable job, thorough, knowledgeable and great camera work. Thank you
Absolutely my favorite breed even though I could never have one (not nearly active enough for them). It's just impossible to overstate how amazing they are. I follow a number of Malinois-oriented RUclipsrs. Great video!
I have one we bought him when he was five months old he is an amazing pet loving very affectionate and loyal to our family and is it and is very protective over children and the baby
Wow, that is one beautiful dog. Amazing color.
What an elegant, stately, dog, beautiful coloring.
Great video, congrats!!!
Who cares about standard when you see such a great working ancestry. These obsession over looks instead of working ancestry and ability is killing the breeds. I would not hesitate for a minute if the working dog I wanted had not the looks standard but it came from such great working background.
Nice video, as always
So true! Look at what they did to the German Shepherd just because of "looks"
I'm so glad I saw your post, I've just rescued what looks like a Malinois mix, she's just the best and I'm planning to train her just as you suggest, thanks for the advice x
Indeed, he's perfect! So good to see.
I currently have my second Mal, incredible dogs, my first lived to be almost 18. This one I rescued at 9 just 6 months ago. They can be stubborn at first but are fiercely loyal and will do absolutely anything to please their human. Wouldn't recommend to a first time dog owner, but you could work yourself and fmaily up to get one. Just prepare yourself for the work ahead.
My best friend has one, and it's his first dog. He is totally amazing. I have a small Brittish shorthair cat at home, who a real adorable badass. She's in fact a mix between a tiny wild cat and a Brittish shorthair. She uses the dog to steal meat. When we ask the dog to watch her, he does, when she goes to far in the garden, he takes her by her neck and brings her back.
My Merlín is my first dog and is a Mal. Haha. I am so happy that she is with me.
My maligator is 95 pounds and since day one has made a great house pet. With the right amount of attention, it's a perfect in-house dog!
These dogs are beautiful and very smart
Yeah I think the most important thing is to talk to the breeder and interact with the puppies before you select one. If you want a calmer disposition you can find one. I have two males. One of them is "crazy" and will go through a burning house if I asked him to. The other has a medium drive and is extremely affectionate. It all depends. But definitely needs a lot of work and leadership.
Indeed the best dog (greetings from Belgium)
Awesome keep up the good work
Your Belgian is amazing omg you have done so well with him keep it up
I love her! And her dog!
Just love ... Worked with them in the Belgian military, best friend ever!

Jax is gorgeous! I love the red in his coat; prefer the red to fawn/beige/tan. Every dog I have ever had has found me instead of me adopting them. I had one growing up & he was totally faithful & loyal!
Like the colors beautiful dog, love it
I love Clifford, the big red dawg.
Awww your boy is sooo handsome! They might say he's not AKC standard but i think he looks really good and i like his coloring. Wish they'd make more of them in this color & size. Thanks for sharing such a good positive informative video on this breed.
This Dog is perfect.
i have worked with this breed sinsce 1981 . out b,G society club was very into keeping the dog relatively a secret. we were afraid it will b/c popular for the wrong people and wind up in shelters. Well the time is coming, I understand a movie will be coming out about a boy and his beautiful B.Malinois. If this is true it could be a disaster for this dog. It happened years ago with shepards and rin tin tin, just know are German shepards are becoming by good breeders the dog it was meant to be, which was similar to a Malinois as far as work, and protection , personal and military
a lovely dog
Hi I’m Tracy I have two long-haired Belgian Shepherd’s 10 1/2 year old female and a nine-year-old male Loved your video all the best for the future
man that red coat is stunning! so handsome. can't wait to get my mal
I have a groenendael x malinois and she is one of the best dogs I’ve ever owned. They are great family dogs if you provide them with a significant amount of exercise and socialization. While my dog turned out great, I can’t say the same for everyone in her litter. It’s incredibly important to do your research and know how much time you can put into one of these amazing pups before you commit. In a good home, they are some of the most loving and smart animals. Love my Belgian Shepherd!
Such a beautiful elegant handsome boy.
Absolutely love these dogs. Gorgeous breed
Always buy from working dog stock. Show dog's are ruining so many working dog breeds,.breeders trying to make money whatever the cost to the breed. Working dogs not always the cutest but usually healthier and less chance of being inbred.
G.H.T. sadly it's the working dog stock that's been ruined by breeding for ball drive and bite. This is no longer the even tempered herding dog it was 30 years ago.
Most working breeds, (herding dogs, like GSD, Malinois, Beus.) Can't even perform tasks they were bred for because they're so strung out and high drive.
I know more Show dogs with working titles, thanks working lines who are even presentable in a ring.
With form comes function.
Show dogs aren't bred just for looks. They're bred to standard, including workability.
