    What an epic Battle!
It's hard to judge something like this because its two completely different styles, so it all depends on WHAT you would be judging on.
But it was a beautiful showcase nonetheless to see two styles with alot of similarities showcase their differences.
The Flexors strengths are insane concepts, freedom of movement, big presentation and presence, and hype supportive crowd energy.
The Poppers on the other hand, had strengths in Musicality, actually embodying the music, Insane technique in Hits and Body Control, Patience, maturity and soul.
My issue with the flexors is that they rely too much on Bone Breaking and after awhile I seriously get tired of seeing that move. It was mind blowing when it first came out, but now its used so often it comes off as gimicky.
I love how the Poppers showed that they can embody the music much more, and were even able to kill the Flexors own music more than a few times, while the Flexors only danced to one popping track -- so in that sense they showed their weakness.
There's a lot Popping can learn from flexing though of course, and that is in the insane concepts, ground moves, presentation, and freedom of concepts.
But I hate to be biased here, after watching this I am just more in love with Popping and it shows to me why this dance is superior in so many ways and why I choose it over the others.
    Much respects to everyone though.

      @Gearsturfs 5 лет назад +5

      Adrian miramontes
poppers cannot glide, tut, or do ground moves compared to today’s flexers and turfers
I agree that the presence popping had and connection to the music was better
But that’s because they choose hyped up dancers in a style that’s about wins and hierarchy. Popping is full of artsy suburban kids who’ve changed the focus and made things a lot more artistic and thoughtful. Allows flexibility
But when you get someone deep in foundation like ghost or sage the presence gets a bit more equal
I think the flexers got intimidated.
Bone breaking isn’t even necessary, the best flex/bruk up dancers don’t even do it too much
Once flexers develop over time they’ll be hard to catch up on in their specific styles and hopefully will match us in presence and their own foundation. Hopefully without shipping it entirely outside their own community

I agree that FlexN definitely comes hard with the concepts but I believe that popping still takes it in the execution and technique area. I believe that's the big difference here, Popping looks a lot cleaner but lacks as many dynamic concepts. I believe if a Flex'er gets some popping technique down or vice versa they would be a monster! In this battle I think Slim boogie was the closest to that which is why he gets mutual respect from both sides. Jordan would also be a good example of a popper getting way more experimental with the movement. Either way this is just an opinion, I enjoyed both sides!

@The Lot: I love the way you're evolving the dance & events. If one-of-a-kind poppers like Slim and Frantic want to battle dancers from Brooklyn who are at their level, they gotta get people like Ghost, Poba, Pop Zombie, Rhythm Child, and Storyboard. THAT would be a battle. Those are folks with control and musicality to match the best of the poppers. Not to mention, Slim's dancehall influence would shine in conversation w Bruk Up. @@itsdeadshot2501 - Hey, I wasn't the one who said that! It was the female flexer that was in that video who said that about you. So don't blame me on that one. lol
I mean, in my perspective, you're absolutely right. I mean, the flexers were evidently the ones who kept changing the music often. When they do that, it signifies that flexers are **limited** to what they can do! Poppers are incredibly expendable to a majority of music! Case in point: Look at what happened when Slim Boogie came up. If you notice, he told the DJ, "Please, play that same music that opponent did?" and DESTROYED him. I'll tell you this much, right now: You send in the best flexers in the world against the best poppers in the world, there is no denying who will win them all: Poppers! Why? Besides having a rich and grounded foundation, that genre of dance has evolved to many other forms to the point where those other forms still bow down to popping, regardless! Dubstep? That's just vibrating, waving, gliding and sliding. Flexing? Sloppy tuts, flexibility/contortionism (and popping DID have people that did that back in the day!), and gliders. The problem with those two is that they don't have their independent foundations, because it all comes back to popping. So if any flexer reads this, I sure hope that they can check their history and the pattern behind the dance they do.

Round 1 - I felt like the music shouldnt have been changed first round but 1st round goes to popping because of the hat trick at the end of flexers round didnt hit so it wasnt on pair with the poppers 1st
round 2 - Giving it to the poppers because music was bias towards the flexers and their routine was kinda sloppy or it was the camera angle , boogie was going offfff '
round 3 - Music is still bias but ill give it to popping just because there was way more traveling from slim and showmanship WAYY MORE MOVEMENT .
round 4 - Flexing , Storm was flawless
round 5 - Popping , the music change is annoying from flex team
rround 6 - Popping but Bqewl was wylinn ,
round 7 - Jessie is on fireeeeeeeeee POPPING !!!
    ROUND . 8 POPPING
ROUND 9 - SLIMMMMMMMM BOOOGIE WITH THE FLAWLESS VICTORY
    WINNERS - POPPING
All im saying is that Flexing is cool and the energy is hype but they wouldnt dance to any popping music and kept changing the format of the battle music its like if you guys wanna battle then battle dont ask for your music if its a battle this is not SHOWCASING. Flexers dance to a particular type of music not saying that some don’t expand their horizon bc I have seen flexers with musicality but they generally dance to a certain type even here instead of sticking to the plan, they decided that it would’ve fair to even the odds of the kind of music to favorable music bc the song selection favored both groups not lopsided so in the beginning in my opinion poppers already won bc they made it a point to dance to whatever to prove that popping is superior and yes foundation is important in popping bc too many dancers are turning popping into straight animation and waving with slight hits but mostly dimestops that are hardly visible. So if you watch all of them are amazing animators with ground skills accustomed to their originality and dance preference but they chose to hit and pop hard to show versatility in popping bc it’s becoming to wash down and studio. Now their was one flexer in white that should be on an all styles battle bc he can do it all and side: Android is an animator. I am very familiar with her when she used to dance at dragonhouse so musically I think it was cheating just 🙃 but that’s just my opinion

The crowd literally hyped every small move that the poppers did. The flexors hit every beat with energy and speed and precision. The flexors had the bigger better and bolder styles in the poppers the poppers were doing different variations of the same thing. This is why I don't like watching flexors go against styles like popping because everybody's always going to go with what they know and nobody knows a lot about flexors. This is why I don't have that much respect for flexers.... Did you see that they couldn't dance to whatever the DJ spun? The first few rounds, they needed THEIR music to battle. you are a dancer. you dance to what the DJ gives you. You don't dictate what the DJ is suppose to play. if there is a problem, the judges will do that, not you as a dancer. And I've seen this more than once from flexers. The poppers... they didn't care. Put on whatever, we still gonna kill it, that was their mindset. So YES.. POINTS OFF FOR THAT.

This just shows what both styles can do and unless you fully understand and have some type of knowledge in both styles then you'll be able to see the huge difference in it. This is what I got from the video from both styles.
Flexin just has more advantage then popping because they can they can actually open their tutts more especially if they bone break.
They can do getlow and also have more advantage when it comes to being on the ground because their creativity doesn't end and they don't limit themselves to just being up alot. Look at jessie round and after. He got destroyed and his diss didn't make so much sense.
Flexin also doesn't limit themselves just to their music like poppin does. Go to any popping event and you'll hear mofak each event you end up going and it'll be the same song of Mofak. It looked kinda funny seeing slim and jessie dance to flexin music although slim did go hard it just looked weird.
Flexin focus on concepts way much more then any other styles out there to so no matter what they always got concepts after concepts and will always have some layers for themselves.
For popping here you can see some don't focus on new things and struggle when their on ground. The guy who was crouching down looked funny doing what he did and the other guy just kept swinging his legs. There was no gliding, no concepts and hardly any actual disses being done in poppin. I feel like this battle is an eye opener to the popping scene because there so much that needs to be fixed. Although popping is all about that G funk and every kind of funk there is. You can tell its behind lots of things such as concepts, expanding and creativity wise. Slim boogie was really the only impressed me because he was actually going hard. Poppin needs to catch up otherwise I feel like it will get left behind. There such a huge difference if you saw this battle with an open mind. Poppin just doesn't catch up to flexin and other styles cause they just focus on popping music never music outside the cagetory for them to dance too so we hardly see any improvement from a dancer and it can get boring after a while.
Poppers win musicality wise but when it comes to lots of other subjects they don't really win as far as that.
No disrespect I'm also a popper myself but you can clearly tell the difference here between poppin and flexin.

Yeah, Flexing borrows elements from popping. Popping was around a bit longer so that's expected. Jookin borrows elements from popping too.
