I did this twice on packet tracer and my pings do not reach PC-B. It stops at the router. I'm pretty sure I'm messing something up on the router, but I've checked and entered the same commands on the CLI as you did lol.
If the switch was acting as a layer 3 switch (multilayer switch) then you could add ip static routes, but as a layer 2 workgroup switch it is best to just configure the ip default-gateway on the switch.
this is not related to the video, but to topics you speak frequently. when the domain name I type isn't mapped to IP by my computer, how is this handled by the network? Is the domain name part of the frame's body?
To get the IP address related to a domain name your computer sends a separate DNS query to resolve the domain name through DNS servers. Once the IP address for the domain name is returned your computer can begin the requests to the IP address

Instead of setting the default gateway on the switch, could you just add an ip route to the router? Would that work as well?
