I saw this in 1995 , just above Stanege Hedge in the peak district . clear as day,no sound whatsoever and just disappeared into a hill side . Waiting for a bang or explosion ,but absolutely nothing.

In June 2013 my wife and I were walking our dog on the left hand side of the Chatsworth estate on Baslow road from Sheffield towards Baslow village. The view from there is quite spectacular. As we walked we both saw a two engine WW2 type aircraft fly in from the right, with no apparent engine noise. As it got closer it became clear that it was a Wellington bomber. The brown and green camouflage was very clear, as was the blue and red roundel on the side of the aircraft.
As it came across us ( it was approximately a mile away), it banked hard over to the right showing the underneath of both wings and fuselage. What was strange at this point was that immediately it banked, the wings and fuselage, which had been perfectly clear seconds earlier, became blurred, with no markings visible. The Wellington turned hard right and headed into some open land to the left of Chatsworth house. It was obvious it was making a forced landing.
We watched it leave our line of sight expecting to hear noise or see smoke. We saw and heard nothing.
Thinking we had just seen an aircraft involved in a WW2 re enactment go down, we contacted Derbyshire Police and reported what we had just seen. They told us that no incident report had been made.
We went home and googled ‘Wellington bomber crash Chatsworth’, I ask anyone reading this to do the same. Sometimes this world can be a very strange place. I’m not an attention seeker, I’m a 72 year old ex police officer, who saw something very strange occur in my purview which was also witnessed, in real time, by my wife.

A Wellington 'safely' crash landed in the fields just up from the Calton Lees car park... as the road rises up to a collection of oak trees, left, across the road - there. At the point where if you look one gets the full vista of Chatsworth House down by the river.
So many Wellingtons came down in the 'area' during WW2.
I saw one above fields in Ashover one late summers day in 87/88 when walking our dogs. It appeared above Hilltop Farm abd turned south, towards Ashover Rock (Fabric). Twas definitely a Wellington (unlike the Whitley used in this film)
with its distinctive geodetic window on its fuselage, i noticed a glossy red marking also on fuselage just where the rear edge of the winged attaches. At the time A10's used to fly up and down the Amber Valley but, even with their distinctive whine, would not phase the dogs who were more determined in running for their ball or ring. On this occasion, however, both went flat to the grass. It was as real to my eyes as any A10.

Time ripple to WW2 / violent / historical event. I think there are several timelines. The WW2 timeline crossed at that time and place where you stood in 2013 hence this ghost plane you saw.

My sister was an Army wife in Germany in the 1990s in a small place called Werl, one night she was awoken by tremendous droaning of aircraftres engines which lasted for 5-10 minutes, then abruptly stopped. The next day after she asked fellow wives, the Regiment has been deployed to the first Gulf War, had they heard anything, out of a dozen it was only another who also had been woken up by the terrific noise made by what she said “lots of planes flying overhead” Werl is near Dortmund, which is in the area of the Rhur industrial area, she’s convince she heard a replay of a bomber force on its way to a target.

A few years ago, I spent a 24hr period at the crash site of the RB-29 on the anniversary of the crash as I've heard that it is haunted (13 crew killed). Eerie as hell at night, but no ghosts when I was there. I was alone as no one else that I knew wanted to go LOL.

@bubba gump shrimp Farts It's a place that I'd love to go to one day, doing it as an overnight trip would be great, as my legs probably wouldn't do all the walking in one day. From what I remember, there was only one fatality, one of the gunners lost his head.

Twenty-five or so years ago I was in the Cotswolds and saw a drab coloured Dakota flying quite low. It had painted on its wings, from front to back, broad bands of black and white.
I suppose I watched it curiously, Daks aren't very common these days, for about fifteen to twenty seconds before it flew out of my visual range.
In all that time, despite the props spinning vigorously there was no sound of aero engines.

There's been many "ghost planes" sightings in Derbyshire in recent years especially between the years 2015-2019. However, an ex RAF pilot from WW2 saw one of these a couple of years ago and said it was a B-24 Liberator. Others say they saw an Avro Lancaster. I personally believe all these sightings as there's so many of them that it has to be true. Once we're fully aloud to travel round the UK again I will try to get a photo of this or these ghost planes to see if it is true.

In 2008 i moved into a new half double in franklinton Columbus. Long story short i saw an older black woman in my room during hroad daylight. Morning. It smelled like lotion or baby wipes. I literally thought it was real. My sisters mother (aunt) lived next door. Years later i stayed w them for a summer. Her best friend Lakeisha moved into my old place w her young child & her mother who helped take care of their child. It was her (Lakeisha mother) who i saw. Id somehow seen a ghost of the future of living person. In the same room she stayed in. I was non believer before this realization that there's simply things we cant explain. Its as if time isnt linear and we somehow cross paths w different time periods. Im afraid to talk about it tonthosevwho know me.

Pilot and author Martin Caidin describes flying two WW2 bombers from America to Britain for the movie The War Lover. He describes flying low near the coast of Portugal because of rain. The bombers flashed past a fishing boat. Martin Caidin describes seeing a fisherman on the boat staring up at the bombers. He is convinced that fisherman to this day believes he saw two ghost planes, and why wouldn't he? It's 20-plus years since WW2, the planes appeared from and disappeared into rain and mist, so seeing ghost planes was an understandable decision to make,

Derbyshire Peak District, Yorkshire Dales, Moors, the Pennines, Snowdonia, and Lake District, Cumbria are 'high ground' areas where civil, military aircraft have crashed, are 'buried': not recovered, have been 'seen'?
