Real fire, real stunt work, squibs and even bullet impacts on the wall. This looks and feels more real than any action scenes we tend to get nowadays. I should also mention you simply cannot do better than Charlton Heston in science fiction action dystopia.
That attack was thugs sent by the condo association because Mr. Heston installed a flagpole on his property, had a grandson staying at his place, planted too many roses and painted his door the wrong color.
Now if only I could get one of those penthouses with a garage and nice cars, weapons and ammo and to play chess with a bust of a historic figure... that'd be nice
Also, my favorite scene in the film. And that 'Stang! Stunt sequences by Joe Canutt--son of legendary Yakima (STAGECOACH, BEN-HUR) Canutt. And, YES--why this hasn't been made into a top-shelf, open-world game (like FALLOUT) is beyond me. Thanks for noticing--we OMEGA MAN fans have to stick together. We are a dying breed. Now pass the Cutty Sark.
To clarify, these are not zombies. They don't feed on human flesh. They are mutated human beings and suffer from albinism, sensitivity to light and psychotic delusions.
@coath514 ..here's a better question...neville must have scoped out the area...he knew that window could be opened..didn't he fvortify that place..doesn't he routinely check those houses so they couldn't get to him..perhaps even chipping away at the prick wll with a sledge hammer...
Perhaps he never really thought about it, since it seemed he was indoors before dark most of the time. SMH anything is possible, when thinking outside the script.
“I’ll just leave the dead zombies on the grill of my Mustang and by the door, I’ll dispose of em’ tomorrow when I go out to find cans of Spaghetti-Os” Does he just wake up, have waffles, and then stack them in the back seat?
Notice how blood is shown and there's nudity in the film which is made for adults. Nolan does his "Batman" violence always blood-free so the sponsors can sell toys to the intended market of children.
What is it with 70's movies? You get a scene like this, with 'splosions, gunfire and mayhem, and they score it with something that sounds like Tommy Velour and the Magitones Easy Listnin' Album, for hold music, waiting rooms and elevators everywhere.
I think I am going to write to Naughy Dog and ask them, hopefully it doesn't get ignored. They are working on an Apocalypse type game right now "The last of us" but it's not based on The Omega Man
i honestly think they either really didnt want to kill him or were completely inept. they had him dead to rights after dark. why the didnt pour the oil on the car is beyond me?
I would say inept as characters the Family was more focused on adherence to doctrine and also suffering plague effects. They mentioned in the movie that the plague also made the mind go.
This is actually home video from Heston's daily life.

Man, those Jehovah's witnesses don't play games!!!!!!
I don't think Matthias and his Antifa cell is into Christianity.
I love how the films starts off quite atmospheric and then this random shit comes down.
The music is just the icing on the cake.
As a kid, this is the scene that sold me on the movie. Love it when he lays the automatic-weapon smackdown on the mutants.
Heston is the best, my dad worked in his home, said he was the nicest man.
I was 9 when I saw this in a theater in 1971 and I don't think I could sleep for almost a month after seeing it.
I was 11 and I was fascinated (and scared) by the organ music.
That attack was thugs sent by the condo association because Mr. Heston installed a flagpole on his property, had a grandson staying at his place, planted too many roses and painted his door the wrong color.
Not to mention leaving his trashcan out after 3pm.
@@glennellis1584 I thought they were upset he had a copy of *Unmasked* in his mailbox.
Family member: "Sir, do you have a moment to talk about our lord and savior Matthias?"
Neville: fires at will
And that's how you keep CHAZ/CHOP from expropriating your house.
This is what it's like for me trying to get home everyday.
@@Damned_DasKar Another Portland resident speaks out.
To your honkey paradise, brother?
49 seconds of action and music that no movie today can replicate.
Now if only I could get one of those penthouses with a garage and nice cars, weapons and ammo and to play chess with a bust of a historic figure... that'd be nice
Maybe Nancy Pelosi can recommend you a place.

If you really enjoy this sort of thing, go settle in Portland or Seattle. Live the life.
For 4 days I've been switching back and forth between this and the riot footage.
Nice Smith & Wesson M76!
One of the best dystopian movies in the genre!!!!
Ahhhhhh the machine gun,, ultimate problem solver!
It's hilarious how the motherfucker comes sailing out of the window into the back of the car. Smooth as hell and batshit crazy. Love it XD.
That is why you don't use a convertible in the post-apocalypse!
Ralf Sauter: True but man.....feels good for the style. I also think action scenes today could learn from this.
I like the music in this scene because it adds to the tension.
Groovy music and bumbling zombies.
Captain H Guess what happens to us if a 2nd wave hits us?
@@m42037
I would hope that I could be in Charlton Heston's place and have a cool pad like that and picking off Zombies at night.
Captain H Really? You'd lose your mind after a while being alone for many years killing goons that want to kill you. Could you sleep at night? 😳
After tonight Neville, you can see we are organised.....there is no cure, was no cure and will never be a cure.
To clarify, these are not zombies. They don't feed on human flesh. They are mutated human beings and suffer from albinism, sensitivity to light and psychotic delusions.
I didn't realize this was going to become the I am Legend movie.
the way things are going.. a preview of coming attractions..
Wonder why he keeps all those empty cardboard boxes in his garage?
Toilet paper!
He is being a responsible citizen and taking them to the recycling station on the weekends.
me after i clock-out and customers asking me where's the bathroom and is this expired coupon still valid
I hear ya there lol.
They were under orders to capture Neville alive for their trial...
ruclips.net/video/2EWJ7L6O91c/видео.html
All they need is the Omega Man soundtrack.

To be fair after seeing their level of incompetence he got lazy. I mean that's kinda why he died at the end, he started getting careless.
@@kevinbaconwasntinfootloose1742perhaps he grew careless because as time went by he became more & more insane....
They got sick of people letting their dogs out at them so now they are pissed lol. All jokes aside I love this movie!!!!!
News at 11......man assaults ANTIFA members with machine gun. NRA blamed!
ge st 🤣😂🤣👍😁
This part reminds me of Search and Destroy by the stooges. Today is this movies 50th birthday.
“Tell me something, would you? Are you fellas really with the Internal Revenue Service?”
Dude you read my mind I wish a game studio would make this into a video game, preferably Naughty Dog, they do the Uncharted Video games.
Great Scene 💯 💯 💯
Just me coming home from work in San Francisco
For best results, hit either the number 6 or 7 for repeated action. Favorite scene in the entire movie.
“I’ll just leave the dead zombies on the grill of my Mustang and by the door, I’ll dispose of em’ tomorrow when I go out to find cans of Spaghetti-Os”

Castle Doctrine, get-um Robert Neville!
I wasn't aware Antifa had gotten this brazen in Los Angeles.
No worse than any other night in some parts of LA.
Just waiting for #OmegaVariant and we will be doing this for reals.
Notice how blood is shown and there's nudity in the film which is made for adults. Nolan does his "Batman" violence always blood-free so the sponsors can sell toys to the intended market of children.
mi escena favorita por que su música combina con la escena
it's hilarious how they pester him!
You mean Smith and Wesson 76.
I think they should rename this scene”How to deal with Antifa”
LOVE that Winchester 76 he is carrying...
SMITH & WESSON
Just another night in any big urban city these days.
Another night in Chicago.

The music made this film! I don't know of it would've been the same without it.

Great soundtrack. I have purchased it from iTunes. Even better, it was made by an Aussie composer!
Tonight, in Anytown USA, after the Zimmerman verdict...

That game has a surprisingly optimistic view of humanity.
Those Jehovah's Witnesses mean business.
Was this the inspiration for Resident Evil 4???

I think they were at a point where it was less "kill Nevile" and more "lets keep Nevile stressed".
They wanted to capture him so they could perform a ceremony, burning him alive as the last person who they felt brought about the fall of humanity.
Yup I know a few things people don't want to know there Stefani Germanota 👸♈🇮🇹

The only thing I'm looking at is that 1970 Mustang convertible!!!
