Good news, since this video was filmed (2017 I think) inverter technology has gotten better, and cheaper! So today, for even less money, THIS is the cheapest stick welder (that looks decent) on Amazon:

If you want the one in the video, this appears to be the closest thing to it:

If not, this one also looks pretty promising:

I really enjoyed your video and was wondering about these machines and was a disbeliever for sure until I watched your review. The link you provided for a more modern machine looks to be a definite upgrade for less money~!! I have a Sears 230 amp machine that I have had for 50 yrs. and it is very heavy and hard to move around and seems to be time to retire it so you have made my mind up and by the way you have the finest attitude of anyone I have seen do this kind of thing so was happy to be a new subscriber~!! 💯👍
Bought a cheap one of Amazon. Similar to his 160amp and I'll tell you I've run 5lbs of 3/32 7014 rods and it burns smooth. I bought it because I was desperate when my main welder went for jobsites. Cheaper than renting since it worked. Now I leave it on the truck for those quick repairs and it does good on 110 which surprised me on 3/16 steel.
what make is it
@@normabradley2544 Deko is a decent quality welder that i had used almost 3years now.. the only downside is at 140amp i always use, it can't weld non-stop more than 30minutes, it need to stop and cool down after 20minutes..
i got a cheap welder for 80 euro, when i was about 11, im 29 now still have it still use it at least once a week
Been wanting to buy 1 of these for years now. I think this will be my Christmas present
Great personality.
Do all stick welders play music when a bead is being drawn? Can different music genres be selected?
Pah. My 100v 15 amp Campbell Hausfeld was the cheapest of the cheap in the early 90s. Its plastic stick clamp handle disintegrated immediately. fortunately I was given another by a guy who bought a far better stick welder but thought its handle was too "cheap looking" so he gave his to me.
The CH's bigly amp adjustment knob is hard to turn, goes on forever, and it boasts a weird clear plastic analog "slide gauge" with no markings on it so without drawing some of your own, you have no reference point. The stock ground clamp had all of four "teeth" on it, offered one square millimeter of contact, at best.
Thanks for the review. I have a tomb stone welder. I have been wanting to to DC rods. I have done some research on the inverters. This helps me decide Thanks!!
At the ship building company I worked for we call the stick, electrode, or rod holder a “Welding Whip,” or just “Whip” for short.
Thanks Chuck-e. It's been a while.
Are you still into farming ?
👍☺
My goodness, are you still out there kicking? I followed you many, many years ago when you were living somewhere up north before you moved to Texas!
Good Review, but what would be a lot better welder at the lowest Price ?
Were you running on 110v to get 160 amps or
240v to get 160a?
Man I really miss more of your welding videos. I am that guy, who wrote you about double shielded flux cored vire welding. I miss that videos, create more about welding. I miss old channel, also conservative like you.
Would love to see review some of the cheaper ones you put the links to!!
And here I thought JB Weld was the cheapest weld. Guess I learn something new everyday.
Looking to learn on a budget would you recommend it as a first welder?
Bought a lincoln powercraft 180amp stick machine for 355aud. Does the job. Good for the porability when ya cant use the shop mig.
What 200 amp (aprox) smaller welder do you recommend ?
Hi
Thinking of buying one of these because obviously they are cheap and won’t be doing a lot of welding regularly. I’ve got some 8mm flat bars to butt joint together. Was told to bevel edges but what size of rod and amperage should I use .
so, not sure if you mentioned it, how much did this cost?

Just came here to mention that lol. I still want to try a tig from there or one of those cheap eBay tigs. Just haven’t pulled the trigger yet.
Ever review a Canaweld from Canada... Prob too late now though, i already got 1 on the waY......A Dual Voltage 162 D Lift Tig/Stick...
Have you done a review on it? That would be nice to see.
Yup so now you can buy a 200A 110/220V machine with hot start for 75 bucks!!!
My first welder was a Campbell Hausfeld 110v unit. Could only run 6013, but I cut my teeth on that thing with arc starting and puddle/ rod control.
That brand is the one from Menards I believe right?
@@Ratkill9000 That's where I got mine, yes. I think I've seen them i different stores periodically...TSC, Walmart, etc over the years.
Xl voyager? I can dig it.
the 9mm (small) Dinse Style plug SHOULD do up to 180A at 100% Duty cycle and 190A at 60% Duty cycle with 25mm2 (maximum cable size for the 9mm dinse is 25mm2) cables. So the smaller plug is absolutely capable of the 160A advertised for this unit, the cable might not be up to the job, look like 16mm2 or something.
So how much was this welder?
I really wish he would have told us the price. 😁
Not sure
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Is that a cold steel tanto?
It is, you noticed! :)
Looks like a rebranded 160 Everlast
Hi, I recently bought a Amico electric, 200 amps multi-purpose 3 in1 welder, from Amazon. I got the the welder. However i discovered, it have a factory defect,(the wire speed dial isn't working). I informed Amazon about it. They asked that I return the item. However to do so is costing more than i bought it for. I am outside the usa. So I am left stuck with a a defective product. So i am looking for a solution.
you could try explaining the situation to your credit/debit card company, a lot of the time they can help with things like that
@@officialweldingfarmingarch2041 Appreciate the suggestion. Thank you.
Not sure you said how much that things costs . Will have to rewatch and see if you said 😆
Lol
Did he mention how much it actually was?
How much was it again? LOL Thanks Chucky!
Isnt 6010 aq Dc rod?
You need to put a link to the air hammer you use.
You think that's cheap. Try the cheapest in eBay. 70 dollars shipped. 110v welder. Works. Basically a rebrand harbor freight unit. Works. Kinda. Won't weld anything thin without complete blowby
How much did this cost again? I don't think he mentioned it 🤣
Can’t find it on Amazon Prime.
Not the same welder, but Deko Pro makes one comparable to this. Its currently on sale on Amazon.
@@MrJbills23 I picked up a similar Deko model and will be putting it thru some welds soon. Thank you.
Right out of the box the settings are just on a piece of paper inside the box, not printed on the machine, but they look pretty standard.
How much was it lol 😅
You said it works but then saying it dies..?! It is confusing!
There's one on there right now for 59 bucks
This is how Chinese warships are put together …🤪
Damn. Kinda makes you question a lot in life now.
Anyone else feel seasick for some weird reason
shenzhen huayilong , top manufactured in china
Literally 2/3 of the video with no actual testing....
what a dud
unwatchable
Funny thing is the welder in your link didn’t look the same?? It looked Cheap!! Check it out
How much did you pay for it?
How much does it cost?
