  • Just a little short 9.5mm amateur film dating to about 1930. This shows boats and scenes from the town of Woy-Woy in NSW Australia. Woy Woy seems to have a history of some value I think...I hope others do too.
Oh to have bought a few acres of the empty bay-side land back in the day!
Sorry for the condition, it is what it is, and was digitised rather than using a live projector (you could not get such shrunk film through a projector anyway BTW)

Its a beautiful video. A haunting preservation of history. I believe it to be around C1927-28

I have had a quick look. I seem to have only one reel of this location from the collection it came with...and this film is edited from it. It is about 11 mins long and made by the same family, so it is about twice as long as what is shown here but of the same sort of locations. If you send me your email address through this channel (I think you find my email under the channel info somewhere) I will set up a raw watermarked copy to a private YT listing for you to see...if you think it will be of historical interest. I fear the extra footage would not make the cut for another public video.

The lady skipping from the car outside Flaxmans near the end of the movie looks very much like my grandmother who lived at The Entrance. I could be wrong but she's a very close resemblance. Any idea who shot the film? Looks like mid to late 20s.
