Good reaction. This was the first song from Babymetal which I ever heard about half a year ago. I stumbled over Youtupe more by accident, as I watched videos from Korn, this video was also linked. When I saw the first few seconds, I was flashed by her energy. I like cross genre music and that was, for someone like me who heard metal in the 80s, a fresh new wind that just carried me away. I'm looking forward to see BM live in February 2020 and I'm looking forward to the new album in October.

    ⚡ 💀 💕 / 🍫 💝️
Even though the whole concept is the combination of JPop/Idol and Metal, this is definitely one of their most pop songs.
Even so, that blast beat gets you. And the whole thing is about 10x heavier live.
They have been joined on stage for this one by members of Korn, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, and DragonForce.
Though not all at the same time. : )
Su has corrected interviewers who had the idea this song is about eating disorders, or anything like that.
It's just about wanting chocolate, but being a little concerned that it's fattening.
No deep meaning to this one. Many of their other songs have deeper lyrics, this is one of the "poppier" ones.
Since you've seen a couple of BABYMETAL songs that feature all three members, I would suggest one of the solo songs from Su-metal, the lead singer.
'Rondo of Nightmare', especially this version with the short Kami Band instrumental 'Mischief of the Metal Gods' leading into it, is considered a classic: ruclips.net/video/QxYAcIyk2Co/видео.html

Good reaction again, not everybody gets 'Gimme Chocolate'. This video was filmed at Legend 1997 in December 2013 - it was the day after the lead singer Su-metal's 16th birthday (she was born in 1997), Yui and Moa were both 14. This has the studio audio over the live show footage (for no wonderful reason as the show audio was perfectly good, but they do this sometimes for official videos it seems).
The band you see in the background here dressed in skeleton costumes were called Babybones and were miming the instruments to a backing tape. The Kami Band, who you saw in your previous reaction, came on for the 5 final songs of the show in the encores and have been ever present at all live shows ever since.
Here is another video for a reaction. It is from the same show but with the Kami Band in support - 'Headbanger' ruclips.net/video/QEsOaMbNFww/видео.html
As I said in your last reaction when you were pondering which show to go to - go to both if you can. Vegas will be a smaller venue and more intimate so you can see them up close, Inglewood is the Forum showand promises to be spectacular with all the fire and amazing staging and more akin to their big shows in Japan or the show they put on when they were the first Japanese band to headline at Wembley Arena here in the UK.

      @Shoe-metal 5 лет назад +6

Yes, the Forum is a rare opportunity - their first ever Arena show in the US, timed to coincide with the release of their upcoming third-ever album, and they are bound to put on a big production akin to Wembley.

My best guess is: they want to put the video out there as fast as possible ? Like with Pa Pa Ya live MV, they will use the studio audio.

Far from their best song imo, but it's great to hear/see live at concerts, it's a banger! Can't see a BABYMETAL concert without this one :) But I never listen to it on my own. Great reaction once again!

This song tends to get little love from BABYMETAL fans, but I'm convinced it's mostly from overexposure rather than anything else (at least for those who like to watch reaction videos). In my opinion it has pros and cons regarding reactions. On the negative side there's the (at least at first glance) uninspired lyrics that might throw off first-time listeners. But knowing BM, I'm pretty sure it's not as superficial as it seems. On the plus-side the conglomerate of heaviness and cuteness and the insanely catchy chorus represent them pretty well.
Regarding the drummer, while I agree that he is awesome, you have to know that whenever you are seeing the guys in skeleton costumes (called the Babybones), they are a fake band. Back in the early days they were singing to a background track, and the skeletons were miming. When you see the guys in white (and later black) gowns, they are the real deal. And watching them you'll notice they somehow manage to be even better than the background track. If you'd like to see more of them, please watch "Rondo of Nightmare" with an instrumental intro: ruclips.net/video/QxYAcIyk2Co/видео.html.

Editing note: flip your inset image (or move it to the other side) so it appears you are facing the middle of the screen rather than staring at the edge.
In this performance in 2013 Su had just turned 16 the day before and Yui and Moa were both 14. They are currently 21 and 20.
    Thanks for the reaction!!

I know this may sound daft to you now, but do both. I know the feeling that it's a band that I have only just found out about, so is it worth it. I was very much the same when I 1st came across Babymetal on there 1st outing to Europe. I had the money and chance to go and see them in France and Germany, but at the time I thought they may not be that good live, and I have tickets to see them play both the UK outings, so why waste the money, that is the biggest regret I have as a Babymetal fan. I have since seen them 15 times traveled over Europe and seen them 3 times in Japan, and it has been worth every penny I have spent.
Next do Karate live @Download 2016.
Another 2 Japanese bands for you to check out are "Band Maid - Play (live) and "Unlucky Morpheus - Angreifer (live)" or "Unlucky Morpheus - Black Pentagram"

Nice reaction! You should choose Inglewood....as it's the only large venue on the tour, BABYMETAL will be pulling out all the stops and maybe featuring a few surprises, with a more elaborate/spectacularJapan-style stage show, probably with pyro etc.

Toit toit it seems like you've been reacting to asian bands who's concept is swag, can you try reacting to "cute" girl group concept? There is a group that rivals blackpink in terms or popularity in korea you should check em out they are called " Twice " i recommend the song " Twice TT " XD
