Have you tried to find a stronger struts to replace the stock ones? Instead of using these springs. Of course it would be nice to know how strong the stock ones are in order to use the stronger ones. Maybe someone here knows something about it?
I have seen few in Alibaba but heard from friends they are hit or miss so don’t want mislead anyone by buying something which will not work. I’m think on post the right size springs on my Facebook market place or eBay if people are interested other than this two points not hard to make it. A spring will cost around 20-25 pounds cutting saw 5-10 and rubber heat shrink few pounds that’s it
So I had ordered 25 x 100 and I was not going to order another one so I thought 💭 25x50 works just cut it you can also do that as well but will be easy just to order 25x50 cuz cutting the spring not easy believe me
Michael B yes with my testing 50mm was the best one and also yes heat shrink work perfectly if by any means u can’t heat shrink it use tap will do the trick too.
The spring is only there for assistance for the struts,when you clicking on your keys to open the boot opens in the spring pushes it all the way yes when you are closing the boot it will need more force. I don’t think it will damage your car but I’m using old struts. So even if it damage the struts I can just replace it for a new one under the cost of £10
Hi will you please tell me how long spring should be ? I have bought one spring is 50 mm long and after I installed, my car boot doesn't close . So if you tell me the size of spring it will be very grateful. Thanks

Have u got the 1 series bmw too and it’s 25x50mm
If 50mm is too big reduce by 5mm max 1cm but it’s really hard to cut if you got any other questions tell me 👍🏼
