I don't even journal but I love the subject of journaling. Hearing someone talking about their notebooks, pens and practice is very soothing. I love your channel!

It's always interesting to me when people have reading goals of like 50 books. I love growing with the books I read so that a book reminds me of a period in my life. Other than YA that I can breeze through in like a weekend, I try not to take less than like 2 weeks on each book so I can really savor it. I always end up with an upper limit as my reading goal rather than a minimum I have to hit, and it's usually like 20-30 books a year

My journaling goal is mainly to keep on doing daily journaling. My routine is different, and I have had to move my journaling time.
I have just (as of 2024) taken up tarot. Still seeing where it goes, pulling a card a day, learning meanings, and working through my scepticism. The goal is to get in touch with my intuition, but that seems far away.
The only book goal I have is to have fun. And not force myself to read something I'm not enjoying.

I related so much with the "hotel" feeling in your new journal. I had the same feeling almost all the way through my last journal, but then I started my new one this year with collaging every fourth or sixth page or so (your old tip) and it has helped a lot! Never has a journal felt this broken in and old so early after starting writing in it!

    Absolutely love Mistborn!!
As for the daily pages, you could always use them for notes through the day like the small moments that tend to get over looked or doodles, pictures, book quotes (or book progress for the day), collage, journal prompts.
I use a couple pocket notebooks at the moment- one for journaling and the other for to-dos, doodles, pictures, ephemera, notes, small memories, etc. I just like to collect things in my notebook. 😆

Hi Tina, I would very much like a video about all these books that are connected to journaling that you used throughout journ journaling journey. Through your channel I discoeverd the Artist's Way, which changed my life completely and now I love to see another book that looks like I could delve into and connect to my journaling experience! Thank you so much for the inspiration! 🌸🌸🌸

To me Journaling and Tarot go together so perfectly. You can dive so deep with it. I used to do a card a day. Write out the card and see what it sparked. Then, I would come back to it later that day and see what else I could glean.
I think of a version of the upside down tower card that looked like the person was surfing. Where if you lean into it you will have a really fun ride where you the board and the water are one.

For reading, I place holds at my library and then whatever gets to me first is what I read next. My journalling practice is pretty set, but I did just adopt a reading journal on a whim and I'm quite enjoying that. I'm just keeping a list of the books I've read on the first page and then a bit of journalling my reactions inside. I don't have a number goal but I do want to get through the entirety of the Discworld series by Terry Pratchett chronologically. It helps that I have most of those on audiobook so I can read new books and listen to the ones I'm more familiar with. I prefer listening to familiar books over new ones.

Have you tried using your daily pages for gratitude? Keeping track of your son's milestones? Quick things to jot down. Happy journaling and thank you for posting. You help me feel less alone as a long form, hand written, life long journaler.

Thank you for sharing your journaling goals! I have always struggled with writing in multiple journals, but I do it anyway. I love that you have a special journal for you and your baby to carry with you long haul, I have a similar one for my husband that I write in on special occasions. Also hoping I can find myself some journaling friends someday!

Love the idea of more book content on your channel! I’m interested in what your favorite books are, what you’re currently reading, what you want to read eventually, etc. (like your reading/journal q&a you did awhile back) 💚 also Warbreaker by Brandon Sanderson is one of my all time favorite books!

I keep my planning and journaling separate. I used the daily pages to take notes and ignored the dates. For busy days, I used the daily page for appts and to do lists. Sarra Cannon, Heart Breathings, uses the daily pages of a Cousin to journal about the tarot card she pulled that morning.

I do incorporate some of my favorite quotes from the Torah since I am Jewish. I have a notebook for my Hebrew class and Jewish studies called Judaic. In the Hebrew class with my Cantor from my synagogue we also do the weekly portion and what it’s about. I will take notes so I can look back on it and remember that weeks teaching if I can’t remember. I write about my chronic illness and what I’m going through. I also write about my nephews when we do something fun since they are my everything! I love my boys so much! My reading goal is 10 books since I am reading some bigger books this year. So far I’m up to four books. I’m reading Throne Of Glass on my Kindle, and A Court Of Mist And Fury for my physical book.

What I like to write in the daily pages is good things/achievents/memories I had on that day but in bullets ! so short sentences for each one! maybe the more important ones are written in bigger writing but that's it! (I also may decorate or write random to-dos etc. Writing there in bullets is fun to look back on because you can quickly see what happened on that day. Plus, I like doing this in a dated planner because this way you can tell how far apart were some memories! Which you cannot do with the journal. ❤ And I just use my journal to write long form for feelings thoughts facts whatever else I want to elaborate on! 😊

I don’t even know if you’re still interested, but I found a Remarkable Libraries 1989 journal online and jumped on it, knowing how much your own means to you. I was wondering if you wanted it, as I know it would hold so much more meaning to you than me.
I just wish I knew how to get it to you. If I ever figure that out, it will be headed your way. 😁
Thank you for all your efforts to encourage us to write our stories.

i would love to see a collage with me video!! i've seen some people use the dailies of the hobonichi kind of as a common place book, to make lists, etc. and then instead of page numbers they would use the date to index the pages, maybe that's something that could work for you?
Definitely have to check out that Christina Baldwin book, love myself a good journaling prompt

Hobonichi daily pages - memory-keeping is a good idea. Or a daily poem, a quote, a mini collage? Use the limited space to your advantage and try something creative. And YES, let's see a denim book cover!

Hey Tina, thanks for this video, you’re an inspiration!
I get the feeling of not being "at home" in your journal, it’s kind of the same for me at the comment although I’m halfway through -_-
For me it’s the paper format, the pages are very narrow and I write big, so I have to skip to the next line very often and it’s less comfy haha.
Have a great day! Greetings from France 🥐

i keep a daily gratitude journal. You could use your daily pages in your planner for something like that. extra challenge is to try and not repeat things from day to day (I will over time of course) but it increases gratitude to really think about those little day to day things. like the sunshining or a nice stranger you met at the store. if you do it that was it can also double as daily memory keeping, which a lot of others have suggested in the comments :) hope that helps!

I use my hobonichi cousin as a journal/dear diary kind of book 😊 I also have a second notebook I use those days I need more than one page and Hobonochi is not enough.

So nice to have you back on the regular. I have a hobonichi and a journal. I kind of wouldn’t care if some one picked up my hobonichi and read it, but not my journal. I use the weeks to plan and the dailies to record/memories etc. But my journal is my heart and soul- very personal. Hope it helps. Have you heard of the term ‘bibliomancy’, thats what you are doing when choosing a passage and interpret, I think Dawn Michelle on YT explains it well.

thank you so much for sharing your process with "life's companion" - i'll definitely check it out! you introduced me to "the artist's way" in your video where you mentioned it years ago, and i've reread it countless times since, so i trust this book will be similar ^_^
i've started doing a short amount of journaling every morning about how i feel, what i appreciate about myself, and some affirmations; i guess my goal for this year is to keep doing that for as long as it serves me

How do you deal with journals that you just happen to not like as much? I currently have one that just isn’t a nice size, doesn’t inspire me at all, just not feeling it. Hesitant to just ditch it. What would you do?

    • @Lilyisthebest1234hfhhfh
      @Lilyisthebest1234hfhhfh 9 месяцев назад

I sometimes feel guilty for ditching them so what would I do is that I would write about how I’m feeling in this journal & make a list of how to make me continue it. Like pep talk, prompts, etc. I hope this helps you!😊❤
