  • Haven't mentioned it in a while, but my target for this video is my awesome dad... just turned 87. Unfortunately, he can no longer travel to me in NC and enjoys hearing and seeing the progress on my latest project. These videos are always for him, so I hope that if you are not him, you also find something enjoyable. Today, it is taking a pair of H6 carbs that have been sitting for decades and restoring this to beauty and function.

Thanks Mike. Did you coat the polished dashpots?

Greetings John, Hope you re well. I have not yet done so. When I am done man-handling it, my plan was to wipe it down with kerosene, then spray a coat or two of clear. This is my first time doing a polish on these... think this will do the trick? Thanks Mike

Very shiny! What did you do to clean up the bodies? I’ve got the Strombergs from my GT6 to deal with soon and, while looks are not my highest priority in the engine bay, they do look disgusting right now…

I started with ultrasonic cleaner and some dish soap, then moved to a Dremel polishing kit... essentially cotton bats that I ran with polishing paste. GL with GT6 project!
