My 73 Cuda is my time machine, takes me away from this crazy world every time I drive her. The looks I get when I pull up to a stop light are priceless!
I know EXACTLY how your living brother!! I also own a 100% original unmolested 73' 4 speed B5 blue 340 Cuda. Found it in Tulsa, OK about 6 yrs ago. I absolutely love that car and it gets 👍 everywhere i go. A simple drive to get gas takes 2.5 hrs because of all of the people wanting to chat about her. They about shit when they find out it's all original! 🤣 (They always ask "how long was the restoration and how much did it cost?)
I've got a 68 Barracuda convertible and every third stop I have someone come up to talk to me about it. That's not including all the "cool car man!" I get from people just walking or driving by. I also get a lot of people honking at me to give me a thumbs up which is great when I am merging onto an interstate lol. And that's with a second gen A body which are not nearly as sought after as the E bodies lol.
The idiots are the ones that own cars like this and never drive them...they were to drive, not park in the garage and say "look"....cant get the thrill by washing it.
Agreed but watching people drive their Impala or whatever it may be I just see it on Older Impala's the most but 20-22+in rims with like they want to be part of the low-rider culture or something but just end up ruining a perfectly good car... Bigger Rims/Wheels= Lifted Suspension to avoid rub= Reconfigured Suspension / Steering Geometry - In which, most people only get to the big rims, and instantly regret not only the lacking comfort of a thicker tire but ruin the handling of their car and potentially cause mechanical failures. In which I mean it's their own car but I know I would be most disappointed to sell an older car of mine only to see the work I did to keep it tip-top be eradicated and the machinery slowly turn into waste as the new owner makes a fashion statement out of it more than anything.
this car with its woes is still better than anything made these days, can-bus, DOD, more and more complex systems have assured the new car owner is saddled with a product that has millions of points of failure, and they have no idea why...
Im surprised it runs so well, the alternator isn't working how it should and it doesn't idle right. But it actually runs! Carpet is getting all ripped out and steamed. Smells so bad its unbearable, previous owner tried to cover all the mouse piss smell with strawberry air fresheners making an un godly combo.
@@callmecamoi know the mouse piss smell all too well unfortunately. the first thing i had to do to my car was open up all the drain holes and pressure wash the floor. it was a nightmare and stunk. i hope the steaming works out for you. a nuclear option would be getting an ozone treatment at a detailing shop. apparently thats how they get the smoker smell out of cars
@@callmecamo You can either rebuild the carburetor and alternator or get at the parts store. If the parts are original I would rebuild them. You may have to mail them off but it doesn't take long to get them back. I would check the dimmer switch due to the fact that a rusty switch can cause a fire. Also you might be able to get a cellular repair place to fix up certain switches that can't be obtained easily. This is a rare air conditioned car with power brakes. I'd like to continue to see the progress.
@@squirrley9 The alternator on that car is pretty easy to rebuild ! Just a set of brushes and maybe diode trio I think they used on those it's been decades since I rebuilt those ! The armature might need a little emmory cloth work , if it's to bad probably just order one or might find someone local to get it rewinded ..
I seen your 1st vid of this car on the trailer so i had to look up another vid and this was on your channel. What a totally rad car!! The tunes are perfect!! Thank you for sharing this gem!! Oh yea,.. that farm boy who couldn't drive, is probably smashing his head against a concrete wall about now!! 🤣
I've owned 4 gto's 1 67' 2 70's and 1 69' while I loved them all the 68, 69, 70 hood scoops are the coolest, especially sitting in the driver's seat looking out!! It just feels badass!! One of my old 70s is now owned by a GTOA member and has had a frame off restoration! I see it fairly often at local car shows! People will ask sometimes , does it make you sick to see it? I tell them no, I'm glad it's restored and not in a junkyard or gone to the crusher!!!
If anyone is wondering why my idiot light is on, its because the alternator isnt charging the battery. My regulator was bad when i filmed this. Found my go pro so maybe when the weather is better in a few months ill take it to the drag strip and do a video on it.
Remembering when I was about 5 or 6 riding with 4 of my uncle's in there old cars what a felling or maybe in was something they were smoking 😆😎 I sure miss it!
I'm with ya! my time machine is my 73 charger 440 put in my kiss dynasty 8 Track and cruise the town takes me to a happy time when life was good 😊 at least untill I have to stop to get gas then the reality sets back in 😂 missing the good ol days
Patina!! You guys and this silly bullshit, loving rust and dead paint.. What a load, a fresh coat of paint will make it like it once was, shiny and nice to look at. You want patina go to a frigging museum!!
Just nothing like feeling the power, sounds, and the antique nostalgia of a time's past . Flash backs fill my mind of Great Free times and time before political correctness.
what's so "idiot" about this video?? guys driving around in his classic while listening to good period correct music!! not some stupid modern day noise..
Closest thing to a time machine is driving an old car with music of that era

@@leahcimthgirw3163 I had one of those in my 77 civic. Miss that little car
Far out man.... I’m thankful that I drove cars like that in 70’s and listened to 70’s music. It was great.
The more I see of this car, the more impressed I am; looks like an absolute blast to drive it as-is and restore as you go.

Enjoy and take care of it! Wish I never would have got rid of my 69 GTO

He's doing his thing , no need for name calling or judgement
Had a 70 gto for 14 years. Fun to drive. Miss it. Brother has it,now.
that engine is smooth as silk, sounds like it came out of the factory. that car is quite the catch

GM built great tight steering cars. and that's a fact! 🥰
Now we need a “seventies-style” burnout!
I like this video …. it brought back a lot of memories… Thanks for sharing and of course ,,,,,keep on rocking…..

Now some CCR on the radio would have been more period correct.
I’m HI-JACKING this title for myself and my own mostly working ‘77 T/A
Nice .. Find... congrats

I see you preserved the vintage patina on the windshield quite well.

That’s a badass song lol
And suddenly it’s 1978

How many gallons to the mile?
nice drive, my question is......why the idiot dig?
140 MPh speedo
What's that red warning light that's on? Very concerning!
Didn't you think you would be a good idea to clean the windshield before you filmed LOL
Good for him
Is the engine missing or is it just the audio?
I'm not sure why the guy is called an idiot in the title... just crusin
Nothing about that makes him an idiot..??.. Now, the one hackin on him..??... maybe.... lol
Oil light is on.
I'm just jealous
Got to get rid of those cheery bombs, cant hear the radio!
Not 70s music, was there
dirty window
Nice car but (no offense) but I would definitely change that steering wheel!!! That's the only thing I don't like about birds and goats
Sounds fuel injected
Idiot? Or genius?
