Awesome 👏….you will definitely love the alyssum as it will also be a perennial in zone 8….so don’t forget to remove the seed heads regularly so they don’t spread everywhere in your garden….although that would actually be stunning with them as ground covers. 🤩 We had had a very dry and hot August and a very much summer like September as well. Although next week we are expecting more fall like weather with temps in the 60-70F. Wow that view standing back looking on to your backyard is just breathtaking. I love all the different hydrangea colours and heights. I purchased 2 quick fire trees for the front on either side of my front stairs because of loving your tree in your front yard. Even though they are planted in good soil, were well watered, had full sun they are dying and sadly will have to return them to the nursery. I may exchange with limelight trees. I have never had to return plants for this reason. In your opinion are the limelight trees more easily to grow then quick fire. Thanks Tracy, always enjoy your videos😀
Hi Lorraine, I’m so sorry to hear about the QF trees. LL trees are gorgeous in late summer but their blooms are very floppy. We had that heavy rain and thunderstorms the other day and the LL panicles were flopped almost to the ground. The following morning I had to go out to shake off the water on them. You could still see that they are little floppy (in today’s video)….unless you have a lot of space (8+ or wider) for the canopy to grow to the maximum size (with very little pruning)….you may find that they’ll be a little floppy (unless you prefer that look). Instead of LL, another option would be the Pinky Winky trees…the blooms are very similar to the Lavalamp Flare I have in the back garden but they grow to 6-8 ft in size. PW bloooms are always upright and are much easier to maintain than the LL….also blooms earlier than LL (just a little later than the QF). Or wait until the QF Fab trees come out on the market. QF Fab blooms are supposed to be full like the LL but smaller in size with stronger stems…and blooms earlier like the original QF. Hopefully the QF Fab lives up to what PW says on the website. 🙏💚🪴

Bracket was kind of they made platform to put in some height to tall container so that I can put pot on top of it .. it is also mayne tall one.

The Mayne tall planter - you can plant directly in it but you will need to drill holes on the side to let the water drain out. Mine has hole on the bottom and I need to drill holes at the top to fill the water up. I like the 20” Nantucket planters the most - the have all hole pre-drilled.

I created a tree and put it back in the garden instead of a pot. Would it survive for next spring? Why you prefer pot over main garden, i think you did in the garden directly last year? Rabbits, mouse attack prevention or just managing it in planter is easy. Any leassons learned over garden vs planter? If i pot in the planter another standard that i am preparing, do i leave it in backyard in the open sky without any protection or i bring it under the porch with roof on top?

Tracy, I have this paint that claims to protect your plant/tree if it gets damaged by rabbits/deer etc, like that Bobo stem. Bought it this year to put on some plants that were damaged by rabbits in my yard. Not sure if it works but no harm in giving it a try. 😊 It is called Garden-Seal. It is a clear wood and plant sealant. They claim it is non toxic,eco friendly, no VOCs.

They are Royal Carpet alyssum. I have been treating them as annuals…but apparently one of the viewers on the channel said they came back for them this spring…probably because the past winter was so warm for us. You can try the same and if the coming winter is warm like the last - they may came back. My creeping Jenny and mums came back as perennials for me this past spring as well.
Hi Karen, The zinnias came from 2 flowers. They came from seeds that have been shared with me. I believe some of the blooms look similar to a variety called “Giant Queen” doubles pink….because the are hybrids they are now a mix of many varieties that are unique every year I grow them.

I got mine containers from Costco.ca and they are a little cheaper than Lowe’s or Home Depot. Hope that helps.

Yes, as long as you have chosen the tallest stem as the main trunk. They will grow - trunk + canopy = 6-8 ft. My Limelight is about 7 ft tall over all.

They are 5 years old….they are about 2 ft wide & 1.5 ft tall….however, we prune them into small spheres every May. Thank you 🙏

The branch will not grow taller now. The branching at the top will extend the overall height.

Plants love leaf compost. I don't understand why people bag up leaves and throw them away. Nature itself makes beautiful compost in forests.
