- previously lost windows 3.1/9x/macintosh edutainment game by legendary multimedia artist osamu sato (notable for making games like lsd and tong-nou). this video contains all of the characters' "areas" and two letters/proverbs (a and t)

It's kind of a unique scenario. A female that dresses like a male so she can have a feminine appearance which coincidentally is an attributes of males in her species.
I like that character design idea but it is odd to put it in a children's game.

This would be completely terrifying to a child. Some people say it’s the violence/scenarios that makes it scary, but honestly shit like this happens all the time in kids entertainment (Looney Tunes/Tom & Jerry being the main example). I think it’s the way in which it’s presented which really makes a difference. If the characters were less disturbing and the designs/events were made to be very cartoony, I don’t think it would be disturbing in the slightest

True that. Though I would have loved that game. It reminds me of Timothy, a rather underrated Polish game I used to play. I would sometimes get the creeps when I accidentally get the puzzle pieces around the map when I knew nothing about them, but I still played it nonetheless.

I think I know some things on why the Time cutscene is creepy.
- Banaten’s rapid aging.
- Everything fading to tones of red.
- The distorted flute slowing down as Banaten is basically dying.
- Not to mention how he’s ambling, trying to catch up with the other monkeys.
Some additional things if you don’t mind
-The aging part suddenly became a smaller screen
-There wasn’t any music when he started to age rapidly.
-His white fur on his face kinda look like teeth.
-The sudden pause to see Banaten’s old age form
the aging part being smaller is because the big part is rendered but the small part is pre--recorded and at the time videos were large in file size and low res@@soffisoffy2709

The music is so chaotic that it's hard to focus on the game period. I like that fact for some reason. But the repetition of the music and lyrics is sort of unsettling in a way.
(Edit): During Akiko's stage, the "feel It" audio is the same recycled audio for the FitnessGram Pacer Test track during the first beginning levels.
This feels so much like a nightmare I'd have as a kid 14:05 - 15:00 especially

I think Banaten is easily the scariest character out of the bunch, besides Mr. Ohotsk.
The way they're all built so strangely and move so oddly is what makes them scary to me. The frenetic and wild music doesnt help either. It's also really scary that the game can seem so innocent when it was made with the intention to be scary.

It wasn’t made with the intent to be creepy. Quite the opposite, in fact. Osamu Sato was told his games were too creepy, and was commissioned to make a children’s edutainment game. The result was this.

Am I the only one who likes this because I like works by Osamu Sato? Like eastern mind an LSD dream, emulator, and all of his music albums like the transmigration album for eastern mind and also the linen sampler album. Osamu Sato he’s a very brilliant artist in my mind, both visually and musically
yeah his work has an aesthetic to it you really can't find anywhere else- sure it's weird but everything he creates is experimental to some degree, don't really get why everyone is terrified by this lol

It may be right that I would be scared of this when I was younger, but these days I have learned to appreciate creepy things, even if it breaks the point.

If are or aren't suprised, this was made by Osamu Sato, the person who made LSD: Dream Emulator. And the game was based off of the childrens show Rolly Polly Olly, due to that show having a very similar, very liminal cgi style. And is now used by a cult.

The music on Banaten's screen would have terrified me as a kid, especially considering my bad habit of being on the computer after dark before I was 10. The visuals and the way he's dancing wouldn't help either 😂 intense sensory overload right there.
