- The suspense horror/dark fantasy story is set in Tokyo, which is haunted by mysterious "ghouls" who are devouring humans. People are gripped by the fear of these ghouls whose identities are masked in mystery. An ordinary college student named Kaneki encounters Rize, a girl who is an avid reader like him, at the café he frequents. Little does he realize that his fate will change overnight.

Todd P Guilty Crown is pretty terrible it had everything set up for its success, Amazing Animation, Amazing OST, intersting story story. The show falls on its self with tons of plot holes, boring 1 dimensional characters, MeloDrama, and just overall poor execution. if anything watch it to make fun of it and enjoy the music.
for starters the entire plot has a a huge gaping hole in it. Given a decent premise, Guilty Crown managed to fuck even that up. They executed everything in such a mediocre manner; the storyline did not flow. Numerous dei ex machina were introduced as staples of the series [Gai’s entire fuckin’ childhood friendship with them was developed in one flashback episode; so many developments, you won’t believe it’s not a soap-drama.]; they turned the unique concept of voids to nothing but meager weapons. The simplest analogy would be a box containing random ideas. Everyone working on the script wrote fifty, unrelated ideas, and put them into a box. Prior to each episode, they shook it, and drew a random slip. Regardless of the content of the slip, they used it. In other words, most of the developments were sporadically random, and extreme in some cases; this crucial flaw killed characterization, and the other fundamental components that could have made Guilty Crown great.

The series went many episodes failing to develop anything - all actions driven by nothing more than nonsense, yet now Production IG has decided at this split second before the series’ finale to have flashbacks explain everything as if it were all sensible and a logical course of action which led to the odorous vomit of attempted story. (here just a small grain of the plot holes) Guilty Crown reveals to us that apparently the old man who has been exalting every resource at his disposal to kill everyone was formerly a friend of Shu’s father until a rivalry separated them. Shu wants to “save Inori”, because this stranger became seemingly worth expending his life over - we’ll accept that. Yet why did Gai transform into the feminine rip-off of a Final Fantasy antagonist he is now? Why does Mana still have no meaningful or semi-coherent role in any of this? Why does it still not make an ounce of sense as to why she was a lunatic, or how Inori was created?
The series is progressing based off of nonexistent story points - and it’s merely pulling more out of thin air as it goes along. Nearing the end of the episode, the series unveils that Shu’s pseudo-mother is the old demented antagonist’s imouto - and for whatever unspecified reason, she was hanging out with Shu’s father, and ultimately somehow took Shu in her possession.
Guilty Crown was simply a casualty of a failed attempt to fit to many themes and over complex its own story and just falls on its self and the characters only made it worse.

It feels like they budgeted alot towards the ost and other things instead of the acutal anime. The anime was lackluster and grotesquely horrible (i was somewhat content with the ending) compared to the manga. Even kaneki, i felt was a cardboard character in the anime whilst trying to chicken dance instead of fight with touka's brother. The fighting and animation looked off and pulled the viewer out of the action with the worng camera panels.
I find the tokyo ghoul's ost is one of most redeeming factors of the show.
This is the kind of anime that should have had 690 episodes.

I know this song (which is beautiful!) is 100% to do with Kaneki's story but...has anyone else thought that this suits Ayato 100% too? Especially if you read the manga, Ayato has a lot more to him than meets the eye.
*POSSIBLE SPOILERS*
I mean, he's only in Aogiri to protect Touka. Plus...he's 14, he's probably too scared to leave Aogiri now he's stuck there. He's just a kid. People could argue he isn't alone because of Aogiri - but...they're not his friends. Just allies. Kaneki was NEVER alone really, he still had friends and comrades (in the manga anyway). Ayato is truely alone out there but he's still strong enough to fight for what he actually believes in.
Even then, in Tokyo Ghoul :re it's so obvious he's grown up and calmed down a lot, turning on Aogiri little by little.
He didn't get a theme song but...I kinda see him whenever I hear this song.

I do have to say *****, even if your videos are as simple as music on a screen, your videos have become almost like a work of art anyway. The quality, not just in audio but in video is tremendous. For example, that ending screen with Mikasa made me just sit there and appreciate the quality to your videos.

The anime didn't do Tokyo Ghoul justice. But the music...THE MUSIC WAS AMAZING
This might be odd to some but at this moment I feel like this song perfectly reflects my life. I am currently on my way to a tier 1 college 2000 miles away from home all alone. My entire life I have felt as though I was not good enough to go to a college of this level and I always felt like I brought myself down. Despite all of that my entire family believes in me wholeheartedly and has supported me the whole time. After hearing them say how much they believe in me I finally feel like I am starting to believe it myself. The only issue is that I am now leaving my support system and I will have to do it on my own. I say that but I know that I will see them when I am done and they are the reason I’m here. To whoever read this all I thank you.
