I'm 46, been with my partner for 23 years. We are both from traditional Asian families. For those of you who are going through tough times, hang in there. I know, I've been there. Let your love guide you in times of darkness. Stay true to who you are and happiness will find you.
Awww such a sweet comment, me and my partner has been together for over 13yrs we are in our early - mid 30s now we hope to be where u r when we r in our 40s too! Both of us are of asian families too 🙏🙏🙏
Eventually you have to make that decision for yourself in spite of other's opinions. You are the only one responsible for your happiness which means you can't live your life to please others. In some situations, living your truth will cost you a lot. You may loose some family members and some people who you thought were your friends but you have to decide if that is worth your happiness or should you continue to live a lie and be unhappy for everyone else.
This needs to be in a BL series. I love their chemistry. The idea is here, just needs to be extended to fit a BL series. Will definitely watch this. Thank you.
It took me 25 yrs to came out to my mom, unknowingly she knew who I really am since I was 12 😭. Whoever is reading this and going through the same situation just like in this music video, please know that your mom will always be your best friend no matter what ❤️
I can understand you. You don't need to be straight in fact it's not if you are straight or not you have all the rights to be yourself and love whomever you want. If you care for someone, if you trust and respect that person's opinion and if you want to live your life with that person it's love. Love is love, no one can change it. Also if you think that you are not like other boys it's ok it's you just like what me is me we don't need to change or follow footsteps of other people. Be happy and love yourself ☺️❤️😇
To be honest, I really wish the world could change and people could understand that Love is so easy and simple, it doesn't depend on a gender. Love happens and if someone have the luck to fall in love and find himself beloved, it's nothing to discriminate or something who we have to fight against. Love don't know a gender, Love know humans...
when the parents accepted them...my HEART...i can't possibly imagine how hard it is for people to come out to their parents. everyone deserves love mannn
It is hard. Being rejected by your family is the worst feeling ever. The only thing worse than that, though, is living a double life - one for your family, the other for everyone else. I wish no one would experience that. It really eats you alive. Comments like your do help a lot. It's nice knowing someone cares, even without personal interest. Thank you.

I think there will be no better time to open up to your parents. This is the best time to tell your parents who you really are and you could be in a better place if you do have to introduce your true love. Society has been harsh but times has changed. Be true to yourself and the rest of the people around you will just have to do their best to adjust. I wish you the best.
Most parents actually know about our orientation. Most of the time, they just dont want to open up a conversation about it since they still need time to understand the whole situation. The hardest part is when you’re the oldest child or the only child especially your family is quite wealthy or well known
It can be worst when parents r not educated or aware about the different orientation a human can have, they will think it is a mental illness. N definitely take u to the hospital. That's how it's most likely to happen in my country .
I’m 50 married to my partner he is 21 year old, I don’t tell anyone in my family member’s or hides from them. I just live and love for my life, I don’t care what they say or think, life is too short and be happy.

Absolutely beautiful. Every man who is hiding from his family should see this. My dear mom said she already knew and it didn’t matter. And it didn’t, in fact without the fear I felt for so long we became so much more open. Fear is a horrible force, but freedom is strong and wonderful!❤️
This is so beautiful, I'm sobbing. It breaks my heart that so many people out there still hurt because of societal pressures and traditions they're afraid to break. It's not easy being brave, but life it short not to be yourself. Everyone deserves to be happy and loved. Love is love

Everyone, to varying degrees, has their own uniqueness and idiosyncrasies that more often than not have become an untold secret kept in their hearts due to them being different from the sociocultural norms and expectations. There is no right or wrong about these differences, and so the people who love you, and the people who care about you, would eventually come to accept of you completely. Before that, however, you must first courageously face yourself, and accept yourself. 「Who Am I?」is a song created by the songwriter 凱文 after he came out to his family courageously, based on his personal life story growing up. The song describes the story of many LGBTQ+ people who have been constantly struggling with the challenges of being caught between their own self-identification/self-acceptance and risking to lose all different kinds of interpersonal relationships they have, under the pressures stemmed from the traditional family values during their life journeys, but eventually found themselves. Hopefully, viewers can relate to and resonate with the story of this song, and that the story could inspire more people to gather the courage to share「Who Am I?」with the people they care and the people who care about them, so that they could build closer and tighter relationships with their families and friends, in addition to them becoming happier and free with self-acceptance and then realize their self-worth in this world. With that said, the more people understand that many LGBTQ+ are also families and friends in our lives, the more likely it is to resolve the existing misconceptions and discriminations against LGBTQ+ people in the society, and thus more people would come to realization that LGBTQ+ people's love is the same as the average people's, so that true LGBTQ+ equality can be achieved. The first part of the song _(note: should be __1:30__ - __3:00__, if I'm not mistaken)_ is for our siblings and the people who we get to know at different points in our lives like classmates and friends. It's about how we slowly become distant with them, even though we used to have a strong bond, all because of that deeply hidden secret in our hearts that we can't bring ourselves to tell. The second part of the song _(note: should be __3:15__ - __4:41__, if I'm not mistaken)_ is for our parents and elder family members/relatives. It describes how because of that special secret we have, their concerns and caring in many ways have unknowingly become unspoken expectations and pressures for us as children and younger family members/relatives, causing the relationships with our family to be separated by a gap. Many LGBTQ+ people, during the process of self-acceptance, are often anxious about if coming out would affect and risk losing their interpersonal relationships, and so they choose to hide themselves. However, what appears to be a decision made out of intentions to protect oneself and the people they care, has also planted many seeds of regret in their heart and indirectly affected their life without them aware of it. The third part of the song is for yourself _(note: should be __4:43__ - __6:02__, if I'm not mistaken)_ . As long as we figure out「Who am I? I am who I am」clearly with our own answer, gaining courage would actually only require a change of perspective, and the people who really care about you would eventually accept the real you because they love you.
Thank you. I don't really get Why they were together in the beginning, got seperated in the middle and then got together again in the end. What's inside the wedding invitation? Is that their names, and the tall one afraid to give it to his parents.
Some people take a long time to open their heart to a loved one... it's hard to tell your parents, your different from everyone... sometimes parents accept it, others are disowned and ran off... it's hard being alone and afraid, if you know anyone like that please help them... thank you... PRINCE MICHAEL GIOVANNI...
Don't be afraid, you may be surprised - you parents may already know. They will keep your secret, as long as you are not sure of your true feelings. Your parents have known who you are - long before you started hiding. They keep quiet, because they are waiting for you to decide which road you are willing to walk.
I’m genuinely crying tears right now. The guy I’m seeing just told me he wasn’t sure of his feelings anymore for me and that one day he’d might have to marry a woman to appease his mother and leave. I’ve never felt so temporary in my life. I wish I knew this before I caught feelings for him. I don’t know what to do.
I'm so sorry. I'm sure you cared about him. Someone will come that will love you the way you love them and you will be so happy. We all deserve that. ♥
WOW....that was beautiful and I don't read or understand Chinese. To bad we still think we must hide our love from others.........Love is Louder. I have been married to my Chinese husband for 17 years and he is still afraid of what others will say if we hold hands in public. I love him so much.

I believe we are ultimately responsible for our own happiness, whether or not our parents accept and embrace who we are. They give birth to us. They choose whom to love and marry. so can we! Dare to love! Dare to be simply happy!
I am an old grandmother and I will stand up on the highest mountain and yell love is love it should not be defined by male female it should be difined as LOVE …regardless of gender
Me growing up as asian I always confusing my self for who really Am I. When I was 20 I Remember the day when my Mom along with Dad want to watch a netflix movie and she choose “Call me By your Name” and it makes me awkward. In the middle of the Movie Mom asked dad id he was okay for having a Gay Son and he said “Straight or not ,i will be a dad who will accept my son not just because of his sexual oriention or gender identity but beacuse he was my son.” And guess what ,dad and my eyes meet and he said as follow up “We knew since you’re a kid, and its okay”and I was like cry like a baby non-stop lol.. My Mom and Dad hugs me. Btw my mom has a diary since I was a kids. And there’s a part of her Diary where she wrote that she was scared that her son might be gay and I was 9years old that time. Since then dad and mom talks about me and they always sensitive to asked me something like “do u have a gf” or “when u gonna have a gf” stuff like that. And they planned to watch a movie just to say to me that its okay for them that I’m Gay . Lol : i think most or all parents knew every aspect of thier child life, they just become denial and unacceptable in some other thing that they believed not a norm. Not because they are homophobic or something but because they scared for our safety , scared that the society will judge thier kids, scared that people might not accept just because they are true to themselves. I was glad that my Mom and Dad prepared themselves to something new for them. for understanding without confronting me, and for accepting me beyond my gender identity.
this is really2 happened to me. we love each other even he said he loves me. at the end, he just leaves me like that. cause he want to be straight and get married with a woman. and i just crying every single time when i’m alone, and back to smile when i have to. thanks for the best memories i ever had. kre. 😌
Sexuality cannot be change,he still gay,it just we live we in a judgemental society where being gay is a sin,I feel bad for him.bless your ex,maybe he just wanted family like other but at the same, the insecurity still remained in him, hope he doing good and so are you, hope you find a right person that can make you happy❤😁
It doesn't matter if he dates a woman or man love is love and people cannot change their sexuality because it's in their souls and souls live forever until the end of times. What he did what's a big mistake, but if he really loved the woman then go on, but if he just didn't love the woman and just you then he's gonna have to deal with that until he accepts himself. Period. 🙏
This is such a beautiful song and video. It kinda reminded me of something that I try and avoid thinking about, but for some reason I wanna share it here. A few months ago I was a victim of sexual assault. I ended up in a very dark place where I felt as though I didn't want to live anymore. I wasn't out to my father yet, but he found out when I told him what happened to me, and his response was "maybe it wouldn't have happened if you weren't gay". I don't hate him, and I know he said it because he was confused, but it hurt me in a way that few things have. Nowadays he completely ignores that part of my life and asks when I'm going to get a girlfriend. I'm not saying this for sympathy, and thankfully I'm in a much better place now. I just want to let anyone else who is not fully accepted for who they are know that they aren't alone. Everyone deserves to be happy and celebrated for their true self.
Sorry for what happened.. But hv to say ur dad don't deserve u.. You are worth it. Your life, it's worth it. Live happy, live wisely, ignore those who ignore u, let it be your family or enemies, believe me.. they don't deserve you or your attention. Just hold on.. You will make it!! 🙂☺️
I'm old enough to remember a time when such a video was unthinkable. Our love had to be hidden from the viscous savages. Yes, thank you to the brave ones - it's because of them that we have come so far. Now we can celebrate our love instead of hiding it.
I love when RUclips finally suggests stunningly beautiful gems like this song and its message. Kudos to the creator/singer/songwriter and the producers of the video. As a 62 year old Bisexual Canadian woman I some times take for granted the freedom I have in the country I live in. I need reminders to not take this for granted, to love and protect others sexuality and their choices in their partners. Be it a heterosexual relationship, a polyamorous relationship, a gay couple, a lesbian couple, any combination of a thruple relationship (be it three of the same gender, two men and a woman or two woman and a man) or any other loving, intimate relationship.
I don’t cry easily but I had tears streaming down my face at the end of the MV when I saw his parents accept their love. I hope all parents can be like this. What’s most important is their son’s happiness.
There are so many levels to this music video. It's about two healthy, fit, attractive young guys who are together in a relationship but feel the need to keep it mostly to themselves, yet the mother of one of them discerns its real nature and suddenly in an explosion of relief and happiness, they are accepted and embraced for who they are. Musically, it is in the tradition of modern Chinese romantic pop songs with a pretty tune that is simply scored for guitar and a few strings accompanied by matching visuals with lyrics that compliment the conception. It would have been nice to actually see one kiss but overall I can't fault it.
Accept and love yourself for what you are! Self acceptance and self love makes you courageous and determined to be who you are and helps you to shine in all of your colors... and this attitude of confidence makes you so incredibly attractive, sexy and invincible! 🔥
This was extremely sweet and very well made. The bittersweet road towards happiness is almost something anyone can relate to. We all have our own battles and with enough courage and perseverance, I hope we all find that happiness if not already then someday eventually.
This MV is so beautiful! I wanted to like it a thousand times! If only everyone in this world were like his Mum and had love and understanding for what is seen as different! When he read the note I really teared up and then I could not stop smiling to see him so happy! 👍🏼👬💖
I did too push seeing these two shirtless guys..but only to realize that this short video is really moving and a beautiful story!! I am not gay/ Lesbian but my brother is....47/ 49 years ago when it was revealed that he was homosexual it was a total shock to my parents..and very very hard to accept!! It took many many many years and years with a lot of painful experiences that he was at last accepted by my parents!! I hope and pray that be whatever your orientation...you can live freely..and love freely and be with whomever you want freely!!
Aish... you guys caught me off guard. I left this tab opened for two days. Today after a long day of work I could finally watch it and guys I'm sobbing, this is beautiful! Cheers to all involved on this project!!

Thank you so much, Raymond!

Thank you, Raymond, for the explanation. It really helps put things in perspective.
Thank you.. what a beautiful and inspiring clip.

You deserve someone that will give you their heart and love 100%

I am who I am

this made me cry. I know I am not the only one suffering from the stigma of homosexuality
i feel the same way too.
I love you Abdul!
I am an old grandmother and I will stand up on the highest mountain and yell love is love it should not be defined by male female it should be difined as LOVE …regardless of gender
It isn't a movie or a drama, it's just a kind of a short film, fully covered with a beautiful song named "WHO AM I?"
Lol
: i think most or all parents knew every aspect of thier child life, they just become denial and unacceptable in some other thing that they believed not a norm.
Damn someone is cutting onion *cry*
this is really2 happened to me. we love each other even he said he loves me. at the end, he just leaves me like that. cause he want to be straight and get married with a woman. and i just crying every single time when i’m alone, and back to smile when i have to. thanks for the best memories i ever had. kre.

Keep smiling
Oowww dear I believe you'll get the best 😍😍😘😘

I’m crying watching this 😭 because

There are so many levels to this music video. It's about two healthy, fit, attractive young guys who are together in a relationship but feel the need to keep it mostly to themselves, yet the mother of one of them discerns its real nature and suddenly in an explosion of relief and happiness, they are accepted and embraced for who they are. Musically, it is in the tradition of modern Chinese romantic pop songs with a pretty tune that is simply scored for guitar and a few strings accompanied by matching visuals with lyrics that compliment the conception. It would have been nice to actually see one kiss but overall I can't fault it.
I'm really happy that my parents know and accept my real Gender and hope one day I will my true love
